I think he should curb his shouting because it’s clearly fucking his vocal cords up. Sounds like an 80 cigs a day bloke!
Well I was right about the 2nd gear bit I guess! Charlton were woeful in my opinion and they seemed to drag us down to their level!
Who knows, we could be playing in red next season!
Queued in East Stand for a beer till 4 and then aborted mission as we were still at least 15 back !
Having netted 7 in our last game it was always going to be a potential anti climatic game today. They had a game plan that they stuck to rigidly and they appeared happy with the draw, fuck knows why what with Rovers leading 2-0 at halftime? They were hardly a threat all afternoon and despite a spirited 10 mins or so at the beginning of the second half we were never under any threat. We should however have won with the useless sub’s open goal opportunity in the last 10 mins! Can we fetch in a half decent striker as a contingency option in January please Mr Manager?
Wondrous result, a Christmas cracker!
Nathan was probably the most naturally gifted player I’ve seen at our club. Yes, he had an almost lackadaisical look about him, such was his confidence and ability on the ball. He was fantastic.
Not wishing to open a debate on his personal life and some decisions he made, but I honestly think he ruined his career. For a couple of seasons at Latics, he was outstanding. But then he made lifestyle changes and was never the same again.Had he stayed at Latics, and shone in that 2005/06 season, and I am sure he would have improved further, I believe he would have got a top move to one of the big 5 clubs. He didnt exactly shine at West Brom, and then went to Watford, with me telling Aidy Boothroyd (then Watford Manager) that he had signed a top player with great ability. Unfortunately, he flopped at Watford and was on a downward spiral.
He should never have left Wigan, but I also think Paul Jewell looked at some of his lifestyle choices and knew of the detrimental effect it was having, and going to have, on his performances. A year later, Jewell did similar with Jimmy Bullard as well. But thats another story. What lifestyle changes are you referring to? Is it the lifestyle that has affected the careers of the likes of Paul Pogba, Moussa Dembele, Riyad Mahrez, Yaya Toure, Marouane Fellaini, Mesut Ozil, Karim Benzema to name but just a few? Oh and let’s not forget one of the greatest footballers ever to grace a football pitch, Zinedine Zidane ! :)
Ask him how he felt on his return to the DW when due to a sending off he was substituted before halftime ! The boos and shouts of Judas from the partisan crowd turned to laughter![/quote
The guy who replaced him for tactical reasons did however shut us up by scoring the only goal of the game !

Based off your e-mail address you are booked on coach 2. Was it just for yourself? You said that without moving your lips Jayt ! :)
At the end of the day Rovers were pre season favs to win the league, they have possibly the most experienced manager in the division and a pretty good squad to boot. Us and them to go up automatically?
Bet you’re a laugh at parties
The kind who when someone comes in carrying 2 trays of Peroni and a box of Grolsch, moans that he “fancies a carling”.
If’s, but’s, and maybes. As long as we are top on May 12th, thats all that matters.[/quote]
Or 2nd! ;)
Perversely it is incredibly much harder to score against 10 men rather than 11, so for us to score a few is a reallypositive sign.
Going down to 10 means the team sacrifice any attacking ideas and concentrate on defensive work. Very hard to break down so we did extremely well.I’ve voted and shared to my Facebook and being a popular, gregarious bastard there should be an influx of votes! Good luck!
Apart from the obvious (one/two strikers), I’d like us to add a midfielder who can get forward and pose a goalscoring threat from midfield, although we’re going well, think we all can see that none of midfielders bust a gut to get in the box and support the likes of Grigg/Powell/Jacobs. I know Powell is perhaps more of a midfielder than striker, but I mean someone who can compliment the work Morsy does but also pose more of a goalscoring threat instead of relying on Evans smashing one in from 25 yards.Morsy was once that kind of player and I think we would be more of a threat if he reverted to that particular style but I won’t hold my breath! Yes, he’s doing a great job where he plays now but I think we have others who can play that roll but none who will threaten like he used to do so often!
