This disaster started the evening we played Chester in the pre-season friendly and snowballed into the situation we find ourselves in now.
Who’s fault?? A combination of all sorts. Dismantling a squad of champions with a winning mentality being one of them.
We will be down and be a Charlton/Sheffield Utd and maybe even lower.You go on about that Chester game as if it was the only game you had actually attended this season ;)

Kellett is better in the right back position and bar one wrong decision against Newcastle he had a good game when he came on, so why he was switched to left back yesterday is beyond me? Warnock played right back? He had a bad game in my opinion, so why the changes from Joyce?
Unfortunately we will never know what the score would have been n a level playing field.Had the referee not given the penalty (he was the only person on the pitch, including all the ipswich players and management, who thought it was) I am sure our heads wouldn’t have been down for the next 25 minutes and who knows what we could have done. saying that we did have the penalty against us and so needed to get over it and not dwell. i would have preferred the ref to have done his job properly so we could see what the proper result would have beenMick McCarthy said he didn’t know what the pen was for! :ohmy:
As I see it it’s quite a simple explanation. The majority of our players are not good enough for this division, Caldwell bought them and ultimately paid the price by getting shown the door because they were underachieving! Now Joyce will need 2 maybe 3 windows to fix the problem, hence his extended contract but in the meantime he has the unenviable task of avoiding the drop! The rest of this season is purely about survival and trying to get the best out of a very mediocre group of players!
Of the remaining 4 games this year we should be looking at 6 maybe 7 points from them. Just can’t see us getting anything this Wednesday but Ipswich at home and Rotherham away should be wins and going off the way we played in 2nd half against Derby then a point is a possibility!
Just like the camera never lies, the stats don’t either! Some of the attempts ( I use that word very loosely! ) on goal that I have seen have been laughable for professional footballers. Jacobs is the worst offender for poor shooting!
When Grigg came on against Derby we looked a completely different side, a much improved side at that and he almost got us a point! To not start with a recognised striker at home and have 3 on the bench is a new one on me? It sends out a very negative message!
I’m not sure what he is trying to prove with this baffling tactic? Got away with it at Huddersfield when we were fortuitous ( Two stonewall penalties! ) but to adopt the same tactics at home and then again today despite no home joy is baffling?
