A book written by you and signed by Gary Caldwell. They must fly off the shelves.

It’s certainly a unique combination, an acquired taste! ;)

Sorry but all I can remember about the lad is his whinging face and him holding the club to ransom each time his contract was due.
Actually I was just pointing out the massive inequalities in the modern game.

No you weren’t, you were gratuitously slagging off Steven Gerrard.

Steven Gerrard has donated several six figure sums to Alderhey Children’s Hospital. In addition he donated over £500k from his testimonial.

If these donations gave only one child a better life, or even in some cases a life at all for numerous other kids, everything the lad has done is worthwhile.

Hardly the act of a greedy man.

And even if he hadn’t done that, is he the first/only player to ever negotiate himself big contracts with a football club? I’m sure Liverpool have been gutted to have had to put up with such a useless twat for all those long 18 years.

In the last few days Stevie Greed announced he was to leave The Reds after umpteen years. Umpteen years of screwing his club to the ground for more and more money. This time around enough is enough for the club and they are not playing ball with poor Stevie Greed. So that is it, he is off. Not off down the training ground to motivate youngsters. Not off to Tranmere or Southport or even Latics to generate support for local clubs, no it’s off to the USA for even more millions. Good luck to Stevie Greed, why not if you can get it but personally I would have a lot more respect for him and others if he did take the other options mentioned.
Also good luck to the fan owned club of AFC Wimbledon not just tonight against the Big Boys of Liverpool but for their future. Amazing what these fans have done for their club over the years. Ironically tonights match with gate and TV rights will net £255,000 for The Dons which is a fifth of The Dons annual income and on and around Stevie Greeds weekly wage. So that puts Wimbledons annual turnover at around Stevie Greeds monthly pay packet. Personally to me each one of the fans of The Dons that have resurrected and reshaped their club are worth ten Stevie Greeds because their contribution to the game has been about giving and not just taking out of it every penny you can. Good luck Dons.

Yeah shame on Stevie Greed what have you ever done for LFC except rob them blind.

Jesus Donny what the fookin ell are you smoking?
My sentiments exactly and I typed much the same last night before deleting it for fear of being accused of a being on a Donny witch-hunt.

I am no big Gerrard fan but the above is the biggest load of nonsense since the last time Donny posted something

And my point is that Titus Bramble for 18 months at 45k a week is much less of a waste than Gary Galdwell for four years at 20k. Especially given the amount of games Caldwell’s been available for in the last two years.

Oh dear. My point was that Bruce was allowed to spend that kind of money on which allowed him to, theoretically, attract better players. Martinez’s budget was much lower, certainly after first season (possibly because he wasted all that money on Boselli, granted!). I have no idea why you brought Caldwell into it.

Think he’s not fully fit but I know for a fact that he helps to coach some of the kids, maybe 16-18 year olds, on a Thursday night because he’s on the pitch next to us when he does it.

Not sure that’s part of what he gets paid for but, as calamitous a footballer as he has been for us at times, there’s no denying that he is a positive influence around the club.

Did I ever mention that he insisted on signing copies of my book when he realised they were being raffled off for Jospeh’s Goal? ;)

Titus Bramble didn’t cost us anywhere near as dearly as Gary Caldwell, who’s still bleeding the club dry as a “captain” who never plays and a “coach” whose calamitous decisions suggest he shouldn’t be let near a training ground.

My point being that Bruce was probably allowed to spend more on wages than any other mamager we have had

    Nothing’s changed?

Nothing’s changed? Well, the transfer window is open which it wasn’t before. And we’ve shifted out one shit striker already with just one more to go now ;)
Why, wheres Fortune going to ? ;-)
He’s drivng Delort to the nearest airport.

The lads have had a whip-round for Delort’s leaving present and bought him a selfie-stick.

Changes of Manager will only work if the players buy into his philosophies. Some of them haven’t. Most teams see players start to work their socks off in a bid to impress the new guy and get in the side. Ours haven’t done that and are just as lazy as they were under Rosler. You can sack Manager after Manager but if you still have the same set of un-interested. not arsed players then you’ll still struggle.

What i coudnt get over if Maloney is going?why play Him. Give some of the younger players a chance.Nowt to lose they might even show more hunger for the game.
I sort of agree – but he vey nearly snatched us a drsw on Saturday.

Granted he was a much bigger name that Martinez and had many more connections allowing him to attract the higher profile plyers, but the business model wasn’t working and he would have been on much tighter financial constraints the following season.

Yep, £40k per week for Titus Bramble, anyone?

Martinez wasn’t allowed to spend anything like that kind of money.

    Bored of this now.

James McArthur was the key when he left and we spent the 7 million on lads who aren’t playing

Rosler spent the £7m on lads who aren’t playing. Apart from Forshaw who, ironically, is playing much more effectively now under Mackay.

Should be interesting to see how he gets on in the states.

He’ll look like a world beater over there, it’s a bobbins league. Even Horc could manage a team over there ;)

I’m not sure why some think it is so hard to assess a player’s quality in training rather than in a match environment. As far as I’m aware, they do play football in training (apart from when Coyle was here, of course, when it was table tennis). And in fact, those who suggest that some players are not “good trainers” may be missing the point that managers and coaches might just be able to spot that and don’t actually appreciate it.

It might explain, for example, why James McClean, who I’d suggest would run himself into the ground when he’s in Asda might be preferred to someone like a Delort or a Riera who may be more of, shall we say, a lazy twat.

I use Riera/Delort merely as examples as I obviously don’t know the above to be true as I am not paid to be at the training ground day in day out to assess such things.
