Cook should have played Windass or Lowe alongside him early doors to set up a partnership. Its probably still not too late for that, but we all know Cooky won’t do it.

What a journey!I agree about service but I think he’s a lot better than what we’ve seen. If he does leave then be interesting to see how he fares. One thing for sure if we drop he’s going cos won’t want to jeopardise his international career dolloping around league 1.Is he really better than what we’ve seen? On what facts have you come to that conclusion.?? He’s had one good season with Barnsley, scored a few in the lower leagues with Rotherham / Torquay and previous to that a good season in non league.
Its not like he is a teenager or even in his early 20’s. The lad is not a prolific goalscorer and has wasted several chances this season, including at least 4-5 one on ones. Fair enough he’s not been swamped in chances but a semi decent striker makes the most of the chances they get,he clearly hasn’t, don’t blame the other players for that.
How many strikers playing against us have not had a kick in the game but notched. The Bristol City forward and Waghorn to name two recent examples.
If he is expecting us to create a ponful of chances for him every game in order for him to take the odd one, he’s probably better signing for Barcelona. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!Think you may find that 8000 severely reduced next season if Cooks still here.I think we will get better crowds next year if we are relegated. This board is living proof that a winning team is easy to support. One thing that shines on PC’s CV is his ability to get his team out of league one.

What a journey!I lost count of the number of balls whipped into the box only to see a red shirt on the end of um to hoof it away. Bristol City clearly came for a point and plundered 3.
It all seems to go pear shaped when Cook makes his subs. Its no reflection on the subs, it just keeps on happening week in week out.
We need to follow Gelhardt’s lead and start having a few punts at goal. We spend an eternity passing the ball sideways 30 yards from goal, nobody wants to have a pop yet we have players who can strike the ball well.
As we keep saying its time for a change but it won’t happen. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!Yes McGurk was a revelation. When the teams came out they had a 6’6″ centre forward and we had the 5’2″ winger. There was only one stand out player amongst those two and our man looked 3 leagues above the Spurs mon. Consider the catchment area and pick of the crop Spurs have, our lads looked far the better prospects. There wasn’t one player on our team that played bad. Talk about a well drilled all know their responsibilities bunch of kids. I hope Cook and Richardson took note of their work ethic and battle till the end mentality. If he doesn’t bleed some of these lads into the first team squad, not just Gelardt, he is a bigger fool than we all think.
Forget they are only U18’s blah, blah, blah, 7 or 8 of those Spurs lads will make the grade, they are no slouchers having beaten a fantastic Liverpool team in the previous round.
Our club is in good hands if Cook and gang do what they should and test some of these lads at championship level sooner rather than later. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!Don’t agree with your last comment took their right back to pieces for the second goal.
Wasn’t the star man though, that for me was little McGurk closely followed by Joseph and Wier. Also like the left back Robinson. That team performance was the best all round display from a Wigan Athletic team I’ve seen in ages. Definitely 3 or 4 of them lads should be nurtured into the first team squad. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!Could see in the only game he’s really featured , Stoke in the cup, that all he wanted to do when he received the ball was to dribble his way past all the opposition players.
A bit like Gelhardt,…. sits back and waits to be kneecapped. (Smiley/ winkey emoji)From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!Done a good thing getting shut when we did. Its a shame really as the boy has tons of talent and could become a very decent player. If Wolves do keep him they need to carefully consider the best club to loan him out to. He needs a league one, league two club where he can feature every week and build his confidence and sort out his attitude.
Not one of our better loanees and we’ve had some shyte. From Matlock to ManU

What a journey!I personally think players need to spot Windass’s runs a little early and get the ball to him Even after just one game Dowell made a comment in his interview about how good Josh is at playing on the defenders shoulders and making those runs.
One split second hesitation from the player on the ball leaves Windass in no-mans land. I’ve been saying it for ages we need a quality player who can preempt those runs rather than wait till Josh has made his move. The likes of Robbie Fowler made a career of playing off the defenders shoulders but was fortunate to have world class midfielders supplying him with ammunition. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!I think Jordan has signed for Rome……….. think about it!

What a journey! If we are getting hammered Cook could throw the Dowell in.

What a journey!Or, they could do it to show how much they care and understand the pressure that’s on their manager.
To assume that Cook doesn’t give them a bollocking when needed is unfounded. To be a football manager at any level you need to have a mean streak, there are tough decisions to make every day.
So sorry, I for one don’t buy into that theory. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!I think he looks more like Scott Tracy from the thunderbirds.
What about Gareth Bale looking like one of the characters from the band the Gorrilas.
