Jailed Again!!!

DW was right to get shut of him…3rd time he’s been sent down

Thanks for that, seems a pretty fair summary of the season.

Supporting Wigan is a fine line between elation and despair; balancing hope against reality.

29 home games….that will take some beating.

And its not Caldwell (i thought he’s been back to his best of late) its Uwe ,to many games this season he’s made his changes and mucked it up and once again he’s come up trumps ,he’s a young manager and learning his trade but time after time hes made the wrong changes ,i can’t wait for next season and if he keeps going with his squad rotation (which he will going of what i’m hearing) hes of my Christmas card list( i bet hes not happy about that ) . :(

I disagree.

Had Coyle still been in charge we would have been fighting relegation, not the play offs.

The players are knackered. Without rotation some of them wouldn’t even be standing let alone running.
Bet Whelan wished he took Steve Mc Claren instead of Owen Coyle.we might have been promoted.
Yes.

At least DW told Coyle to get his croat before he took us down

McLean scores it’s game over but got to be honest thought best team won, however think caldwells going to need the old tin hat

Easy to pick a scapegoat…..Caldwell, Fortune, Gomez of old….

Fact is we have not gone up because we don’t have a proven goalscorer. Go back to the last hours of the transfer window in August. McCarthy went to Everton, Jordan Rhodes didn’t come to us.

We’ve got 2 decent keepers, decent defence (Boycey great yet again tonight), strong midfield. We’re lacking up front…

Bad luck, Wigan. A disappointing end to a long season.

And we’ll be going to Barnsley once again.

In the Cup? ;)

Londoners think life ends at Watford…. :S

Proof indeed….

Got to play Callum presuming he’s fit.

By far our most attacking threat…and likely to win us a free kick in a dangerous area or another penalty :cheer:

You’re not holding back your opinions tonight G…

Have you been on the Communion wine again?

in reply to: Fortune #130820

Costa Fortune indeed…on and off the pitch. He wouldn’t score in a knocking shop

The lack of a striker who can actually score goals is the reason we are not already back in the Premier League.

We outclassed QPR tonight, just couldn’t score. How many times have we said that?

Still confident for Monday though. QPR will have to push forward more and we can pick them off.

For friday in the east stand and south stand and also from the ticket offices up to kick off

Good, we need to boost trade :)

Just had another look at the online ticket plan thingy. South stand looks almost empty sadly. East & West plenty sold in the central sections but virtually empty at the sides. ES2 quite a few seats available as well.

The seat next to me in WS4 is available…if anyone’s that desperate for a seat

in reply to: Playoff semifinal tickets #130690
Just been on the online ticket office and it looks like almost every block is under 25% full. Hope sales pick up over the next couple of days, all ive seen over the last few days is season ticket holders moaning about having to pay. I dont get it, we had to pay for play offs in 2000 and 2001, we pay for cup games, i think £20 for a semi final is a bargain

Disappointing news, given that the ST deadline was Monday to claim own seat.

Disappointing yes, a surprise no. That’s why some of us hoped ST holders would get in free

With our main season over I’ve no problem with what Uwe did yesterday.
Yesterday’s result was irrelevant to Latics but the next 2 (hopefully 3) games are the most vital of our season. Should he have played his first choice side (whatever that may be!!) & risked having some of those 11 unavailable for the play offs through injury or suspension?
Personally I couldn’t care less about any respect or otherwise to any other club. What matters to me is Latics & that’s what Uwe is paid for too
Burnley are in a completely different situation so it isn’t even comparable

The season starts again on Thursday and Friday for the 4 clubs involved.

Uwe will play his best 11 (not sure which 11 that is tbh  ) on Friday and may need to do so again on Monday. They’ve plenty of time to rest before the final.

I’ve a sneaky feeling Brighton might do one on Derby. It frequently happens in the play offs when the 6th place team sneaks in at the last minute…literally this time!

Don’t mind at all playing at home first against QPR. First opportunity to get the runs on the board and bat Harry out of the tie :woohoo:

in reply to: congratulations jordi…. #130625
Fantastic. Totaly deserved. Class in midfield and scores more goals than our shite so called strikers.
Well done Jordi.

Couldn’t agree more, thoroughly deserved.

Back in the Prem this time around I think Jordi will play with a lot more confidence. The margins at the top level especially are small between success and failure.

As the chap next to me often says, how would you perform at work if you had people shouting at you that you are sh!te every 5 minutes?

in reply to: Best ever goal #130590

Or what about Charlie’s goal against Arsenal in 2010 to win 3-2 after being 2-0 down with 11 min to go?

“It’s unstoppable” as Alan Smith said.

Charlie slept very well that night…Wenger turned into a windmill and half the west Stand got their best exercise in years copying him
