There are so many fantastic memories. Who scored it and when?

If we stick to the Premier League and this season…to avoid a memory trip back to Goole in 1971

4th…Ryan Taylor (free kick) V Newcastle Boxing day (2006 or 7?)
3rd…Fig from half way line at Stoke
2nd…Zaki at Liverpool

1st…Brilliant bullet header from a corner. Simply flew into the net. Forgotten who scored it or against whom ( ;) ). Think he looked a bit like Prince Harry if that’s any help.

So hard to pick though isn’t it. So many to choose from

Just read this article elsewhere, which seems to explain the position.

http://www.lep.co.uk/sport/national-football/no-cheap-tickets-for-pne-play-off-matches-1-6587769

We want as many of our people there as possible next week, albeit a full house might be expecting too much.

We will be 2 games away from the “richest game in club football” after all B)

I did think they might have given free admission to ST holders (yes, I know they are a business, and that they gave us the European games for free, but still…..) The money surely is not an issue. Maybe a bit of incentive for a big crowd backing the team would have not gone amiss.

What we need is someone who represents Supporters issues who could take this up with the club ;)

Totally agree with you GL…I very nearly posted along those lines on Tuesday night ie let ST holders in free.

It would have been a nice gesture, given a lot of us have followed the club to Wembley twice again this season and some abroad as well.

Surely it would have saved the club a lot of hassle selling tickets to ST holders at pretty short notice as well.

It is even more disappointing that we don’t get a discount even….if they must charge us it could have been £10-£15 with £20 to non-ST’s.

I’ll be there on Thurs/Friday as I presume most on here will, but if the FA Cup attendances are anything to go by, a lot won’t go, especially as it’s on TV.

Feel a bit let down tonight to be honest. :( :(

Spot on Lowey !
These Johnny big Bollocks loan players are not really fighting for anything, since I can’t imagine them seeing their future at the Latics; even if we make the Premiership. Probably already on a beach in Marbella, in their head.

Are you suggesting that we shouldn’t sign any players on loan? That might put us at an even greater disadvantage.

Powell was a success when he arrived. Indeed, he offered a rare ray of hope during Coyle’s miserable reign. What has changed?
Not suggesting we don’t use loans; but if we do they’ve got to “die for the cause”. I was basically intimating that some of them with egos / attitude don’t really give a toss whether the Latics win or not. So based on that criteria who is the best and worst loan players that have ever played for us ?
Zaki could be in the running for both categories

Best goal by a loan player…in front of the Kop at Liverpool.

Worst attitude to whether he actually turned up at all. What was it Bruce said…”the worst player I’ve ever worked with” or something similar

There are international friendlies the following Friday eg England V Peru.

So 2 extra days does make a difference to some!

Let’s get the semi finals dealt with before we start making too many plans for the final

in reply to: 51 points from 29 games- well done UWE! #130463

Uwe has done everything we could have asked of him, given the wreckage he inherited from Coyle.

I expect to see him managing in the Premier Lge next season…let’s hope it’s with us.

Let’s secure 5th place on Saturday and play QPR over 2 legs. I reckon we’ve more chance against Derby in 1 game than 2.

Really bad today.

Talking to my mate on the concourse we were really pleased with the team selection. Few of us would disagree that the selection was top…the players just didn’t perform today.

Uwe said in the programme that Blackpool would chase every ball; he wasn’t wrong.

They’re our bogey team. Last time we played them at ours we thought it was a given…erm 0-4 and my old mum got taken into hozzy in the morning as well

Don’t panic though chaps…we’ll be reet on Tuesday

Told you…some of you just need to keep the faith ;)

I went in the car to Birmingham when we played them in the PL.
No problems at all with parking, no scrotes offering to look after the car and no damage on return.
It’s not as bad as they’re making out, go in the car, cover your colours, take any stickers out of your car and no-one will know where you are from anyway.

Seriously Horc….U got lucky

I do not recommend parking in the Small Heath/Boredesly Green area of Birmingham near St Andrews.

Like I said I lived there for 4 years…it really is a shitehole

Nice to see the RFL had the weighted balls out again in the draw….

Warriors, Leeds, Warrington all avoiding each other :woohoo:

in reply to: Birmingham #130407
Is it a really a no no game for travelling by car

+1000

It’s bad enough parking near the Villa ground. St Andrews is a complete no no.

Unless you don’t mind driving a car with no windows or wheels

I know its a Tuesday night, but £10 a ticket and knowing a win will get us that play off place, surely there maybe a bit more interest after we didn’t secure it yesterday?

A decent following could be the difference, Brum have a bad home record and will probably be more nervous than us due to that fact, if they lose they are virtually down.

There are a few hundred going down, but if anyone else could get there I think we could have things settled before the trip to Blackburn on Saturday.

Contemplating going but in the car, anybody know what parking is like?

Hope we play better than we did against the pool…
Plenty of street parking ! Just make sure you put your tyres & wing mirrors in the boot & all will be ok !
Having had the misfortune to live in Birmingham for 4 years, that is extremely good advice.

Better still, hire a car if you value your No claims discount

Wigan is a rugby town remember. :silly:

Yes, but we only got 6960 against MK Dons.

Bottom line is Wigan fans of either ball game are unwilling to pay extra for cup games…despite being the holders of both cups…

in reply to: Al Habsi #130319

If we dont gain promotion this season.there will be a few players going up the road with Grant Holt, team wont have good number of players like this season.

I think that is the problem, we have too many players, hence all the fucking about with the team.
Incidentally, Fortune has scored 5 in 47 appearances.
A smaller squad hasn’t done Burnley any problems.

But they haven’t had the delights of sampling Kazan B)

in reply to: Herr Tinkerman does it again. #130314

I blame mass debating strategies for our failures.

That’s speaking personally though :P

in reply to: Al Habsi #130313
Also Horc why have we gone through a full season with strikers who dont score goals..te

Because we didn’t sign Jordan Rhodes on deadline day when McCarthy jumped ship :S
