Well DW was here today he was on the pitch before KO so he didn’t miss the debacle that Coyle has become.
He will also have heard the Derby fans chanting “You’re getting sacked in the morning”. A few around me started quietly clapping. Not sure if they were applauding the Derby fans or Coyle, no one said much
Did you see the chap in the centre of the Boston stand run down the stand and start waving his ticket in Coyle’s direction? He wasn’t happy
Think we’ll see the mistake of appointing Coyle over McLaren tomorrow.Hope I’m wrong but the omen is there and Derby should be good value at 11/5
Rain isn’t forecast so McLaren wont be needing his umbrella
Coyle might well be getting his Croat if we loose
If McLaren had been lined up to go to a Prem club then fair enough, but he ended up at Derby, not the FA Cup winners/Europa Lge club. He would have surely chosen us ahead of Derby had he been offered the job
Well for those interested in the attendance it was 74468. The highest ever for a rugby league international apparently…(is that good or bad?
)Permutation of 3 from 2, became 2 from 2, but in reality there was only ever going to be 1 winner.
Most of us supporting NZ, but they never got going.
First time I’ve been inside OT (footy version) Seats much smaller and closer together than Wembley. Wembley would be 100,000 at least with the same seat size/distances.
Had England qualified, yep we would have lost, but the atmosphere would have made the hairs stand up…ManUre fans aren’t that noisy but that place could be awesome.
£25 to sit right behind the sticks upper tier…cant knock the prices…
Agreed Electric, it was shocking.
It’s a Spanish trait to look a bit disinterested but then spring to life. Look at Brazil next year (construction depending ;) ) they wont be going hell for leather all the time.
Jordi has scored some great goals…he is 1 of our 3 Premier League Hat trickers….
Strangely enough the other 2 got stick as well…
Funny you should say that CW, I had intended to write he’d be gone if we crash out of Europe and loose to Bolton….
I toned it down thinking I’d get slated. ]
I know we’re all fooked off tonight, but I do get the feeling the mood is changing about the manager.
It’s comments such as those from readers on there though that make me want RM to do well at Everton.
He is constantly berated for us struggling and going down without anyone taking into account our budget, the fact he was told to trim the wage bill, our standing alongside those we finished above time and again. I doubt we’d have been waltzing into Europe with someone else at the helm. We’d have faced the exact same struggles.
To be fair the comments were aimed more at the fact that Utd would never employ a manager who had just taken a team down ! DW’s comments on the other hand are quite simply laughable ! :)
What’s the betting DW will announce shortly we have the best manager in the division.
To which we reply…Yes…if you mean the Conference
Qualification was there for the taking tonight with us already knowing Maribor hadn’t won in Kazan.
We just weren’t up for it tonight; I fear we have thrown away our chances in this group; we have gone from a position of strength to one of weakness in 1 game.
How many corners did we have? Lots..and how many chances from those corners….
Coming away from the ground tonight I heard serious discontent about the manager for the first time. A few moans and groans previously, but tonight discontent at his tactics (no recognised striker from the start, even Holt…) We need to bounce back strongly on Sunday.
I’m working most of that day, thankfully.
Sorry, but Millwall can remain on my (long) list of unvisited grounds!
Anyone else braving it?
It’s not that many years ago Big Dave was on about Paul Jewell being the best manager he had ever worked with….after he resigned, he replaced him with Chris Hutchings :woohoo:
When he owned a certain Rugby club, he said Ian Millward was the best coach in the world…but soon sent him packing
That said, we all remember the “10 years to Premier League” comments and how that was laughed at.
If DW had announced this time last year we would win the Cup next May, most of us on here would have said he had gone senile, let along what our critics would have said :P
You just never know in football, funny game…
And the Final at Twickenham – hold on to your seats – £150, £315, £515 and £715.Our tickets on Saturday cost £25 in the upper tier behind the posts
The sad thing is the “kick and clap” code (as an old work mate called it) will sell out even at those prices. G&T’s all round for the boys
If England had managed to get the 2018 Footy World Cup, I bet the prices for the final would be similar to Twickers….
Thought watson did ok roger a 20 min man at best mcarther runs around like a headless chicken with his head downThat’s a classic
We know what you mean though…
I wouldn’t be too sure about that Mutty
Seems my hunch may have been correct. ;)
And what a fantastic game England v New Zealand was. The owd farts down the road at Twickers must dream of having a game like that in their lifetime.
Gutted today. We’re about knackered in the cricket, lost at Wembley then Brighton….
Got tickets for Old Trafford (the Mrs demanded it ;) ) still supporting NZ against the Convicts.
Fair play to the Ticket Office, had a call about 3.30 asking if I still wanted a ticket.
I’m looking forward to the Germany game on Tuesday.
Just make sure the goal line teckno thingy is switched on :woohoo:
A former Latics midfielder talked about playing for Germany…erm, Jimmy playing for Germany was as likely as England winning the World Cup in Germany.
