Quote “who is to blame – The Club????” Of course the club is to blame  The proviso for getting a ticket was that you had to show your travel arrangements.
When has Wigan Athletic EVER shown anything but contempt for the average fan?
Exactly BB. The club are at the centre of this debacle mainly for the reason you state.
If we had done it the other way round, waited until tickets were in hand, we probably couldn’t book a flight by then…can’t win.
I knew and accepted there was a risk over tickets when I booked, hence why I paid a deposit only.
What has annoyed me today is the comment couple of weeks ago that tickets wouldn’t be a problem. Most of us who’d booked relaxed when we heard that.
What has really f!!ked me off today is the club announcing this VIP thing on the same announcement that normal tickets had sold out. As others have said, its actually not a bad package for the price and I might well have booked it had it been announced in September. Probably have had to take the wife as well. (So maybe it’s a blessing in disguise :silly: )
By the way, when they put me on the waiting list, the TO said they’re not taking travel details for this
Never mind, relaxing now with a nice glass(es) of wine watching England….what else could go wrong today
Which comes first the chicken or the egg? Which do fans need to buy first, a match ticket or a flight and hotel?
The club has clearly put fans in an impossible situation. Fans thought this was a dream come true, but it’s turning into a nightmare.
I want to know who (presumably from the club) told us we would get all the tickets we needed.
Hindsight’s a wonderful thing, but the club must have known ages ago tickets were highly limited and should have restricted tickets to those on “official” trips. That way the numbers could have been controlled and tickets guaranteed to those people.
Anyone not on an official trip tickets not guaranteed.
Couldn’t get a ticket this morning at ticket office.
Flight booked (deposit only paid) with Vital in September, but no ticket
We were told recently we would get all the tickets we needed, anyone who booked a flight after hearing this is entitled to feel they’ve been conned. By whom I’m not sure….
I’ve got a ticket for tomorrow, but cant go now due to work….gutted…
It’s complicated as always with England…but I reckon if (IF) we win tomorrow we will be in the play offs for certain minimum as Montenegro cant overtake us then and Ukraine/Poland one of them cant.
If we win and Ukraine don’t win we’re 99.9% certain of qualifying outright tomorrow due to goal diff.
I have not considered the permutations if we don’t win…
“Failure? The though never entered my mind….” aka Mrs Thatcher or was it Alf Ramsey in 1973

Have a great time BB…don’t forget your furry hat ;)
Seriously though, how many have booked on the club trip at £1599? It’s a great opportunity to meet and greet etc, but my flexible friend wasn’t too friendly when I asked him
Maybe not ! I thought they kicked off at 6pm ? It’s 7.30pm now and they still have half an hr to play ? Oh well, I’m off to go and get ready for the pub ![/quote]
It was all the injuries after they punched each other.
Clear evidence on camera. If footballers did that there would be hell to pay.
Footballers get sent off for the slightest ankle tap (Beckham 1998  ) yet that Westwood punches Blake Green
3 major trophies in the cabinet…unique. Hope the trophy is paraded tomorrow, I’ll applaud.
I presumed DW had invited him out of courtesy…he deserves it.
If DW hadn’t invited him, the seat next to me was free
Say what you like about DW or RM, we’ve said a few things, but they conduct themselves with dignity. A dignity not shown at Liverpool to the England manager
What an opportunity to actually travel with the players and have a drinks reception.
Had it been £800 or thereabouts I might have been digging out the credit card, but £1599….
I’m guessing the smallest plane the club could get with the range to get to the depths of Russia was about 140 seats so they thought they might as well sell on the rest. No idea why it’s returning via Bristol…to drop off DW’s auntie maybe
