mighty aff – when did we sign ramirez.
Very good point and half cut posting. You get what I meant
Quite ridiculous comments on RamiS to be honest. Japp Stam was shocking at first, Gerard Piqué had a hard time at united and is now a central part of an amazing Barcelona team, Leighton Baines got a lot of criticism early on as well “notbig enough, not good enough etc etc” and now he is joining Manchester united. All those players as an example took some time to settle and are now / where truly world class.
You write ramiS off after ten minutes, it would not surprise me if this lad went on to be club captain and become a major favourite at Wigan.
Come on, it’s a new start for the lad. Give him a break.
Just checked on sky sports, and indeed our very own Aldridge Prior is on the ball with this one.
Who cares what other teams do or don’t do in the transfer Market. I moaned about our transfers for the last two seasons, and wanted Martinez out and said wheelnut was tight etc etc. I learned a lesson in being proved wrong. There are far worse and far more worrying things in this world. Let’s be thankful our own town (not by any means a city), and the club we grew up with have had seven years of unbelievable success.
If any of you have a kid who is not quite as good as the other kids at football, you don’t love your own kid any less and try to swap him for a better kid. Life shows you that you stick with what you have, what’s yours, and you enjoy every minute and each and every success no matter how small, and share the darker days knowing things will get better.
I would not have written a post like this a season back. Good luck to anyone who plays for us, forget those who don’t. We love the shirt not the players in it after all.
Roll on Chelsea!
it will all be alright come kick off.
Here in Muscat, having a ‘pre-match’ barbie (never thought i would say that) prior to the 4km journey from Azaiba to Seeb Stadium to watch Wigan (never thought i would say that here either). Its my little lads (4yr old) first latics game, and will no doubt give him Top Trumps bragging rights in the future when he is in the pub or when people are saying “Where was your first latics game and against who?”
Was up at the stadium yesterday and took some pics. We walked up into the ground, no bother, security just waved, although they did have shooters.
Leaving for the game a 5pm Muscat time, 6.30pm kick off. Will put the score on here when i get back and a short update on the game. I think people may be surprised with the Oman side, i have wathed them here v Brazil, Australia and Qatar and they have some good young very quick wingers. And a certain goalkeeper who has caught the eye more than once.
Jay – PM me your email address, i will mail the pics from the stadium yesterday, and from todays game.
Dont know which seat. Its free apart from the VIP areas. Its at Seeb Stadium.
Maybe because once the Omani’s have bought into Wigan, they want their National Side players to get experience in UK football, therefore meaning we have to play a set number of them.
Wigan are to play Oman in Muscat on 17th February – Sultan Qaboos Stadium. Would be nice if the Omani’s are looking to invest in a premier league club, they have the money to do it.

Richer than the Abu Dhabi boys, but not quite as rich as the Qatar chaps.
From your comment regarding goalscoring, i take it you live alone??
To throw my hat in the ring: – In my opinion Rodellega isn’t as quick as he looks, is knocked off the ball too easily, quite often has the first touch of Peter Sutcliffe and bottles out of challenges. Yes he’s our top goal scorer, but I’m the top goal scorer in my house – the competition is similar. Also in my opinion, Callum McManaman isn’t a millions miles off the standard of Rodellega now and will only get better with time and experience.
A fair response. You are right regarding the players not being good enough, but bobby is the man who put most of them there.
Think Dave Jones is better as a midfielder than a manager, to be honest ;)Yeah, same can be said about Martinez. At his age now.
Your’e right. I should have posted the question “Why does the Clique on here suck up to Roberto Martinez so much?”
Does this post get deleted now because it does not conform to the “Everything is great under Bobby the legend” rules?
We have not won at home since August. Its mid January. The man is not delivering the goods, and reults are getting worse regardless of how much some of you guys ‘like’ him.
Thanks for telling us that. Nobody has claimed he’s delivering the ‘goods’ on the pitch. Get up to speed sunshine
Said it before, many times, and I’ll say it again. I don’t give a flyer what Martinez says to the press. What matters more is what he says to his own players in the privacy of the training grounddressing room. And not one of us on here, yes me included Tea Bag, has the faintest idea what that might be.Please send three in case i lose two. Legend.
Griff. Legend.
I can send you a signed photo to give to your boss, if you like?
