I’m really not sure what the answer is as far as a new manager goes, I do know believe though that if Souness is the answer, then who should be our manager is not the question. Souness is a shocking manager, he’d just be here for the money and would completely ruin us
well if Souness takes some of Whelans money on the way to ‘ruining us’ thats great. As at the moment, Martinez is simply ruining us, on probably no more than one of Whelans warehouse managers wages.
So the possible outcomes are –
1) Souness comes + he would financially ruin us + We get Relegated = Whelan seriously yellow water off and sees the error of his ways
2) Martinez stays + Whelan saves a few quid + We get relegated by January = Whelan doesnt give a toss as he only spent 60k a year on bobble heads wages, sells the club, off to barbados, happily ever after.
Number 1) for me everytime
So you don’t really care about Wigan Athletic Football Club do you?
As long as Whelan suffers some financial loss, the club can go to the wall as far as you’re concerned, can it?
Don’t be daft man. You need to get some help for those unresolved issues you have over Whelan. They’re making you sound like a complete and utter fool.
No – dont want Wigan to go to the wall, just want rid of Martinez. The club will be ruined if he is left in charge for the whole season. We will be left with players on 3 year deals that no one wants and we cant afford in the championship – all because of some sentimental misguided loyalty to what was at best a very decent lower league pro.

By ‘ANYONE’ do you mean the fans, players, coaching staff or all three? He actually said “ANYBODY” not “ANYONE”, and how do you know he didnt mean that ‘he’ and ‘someone else with him’ (Hence the “WE”) would not be taking “ANYBODY” to spurs, i.e. in their own car. You know, like ‘WE will be going to spurs, just the two people, i would be surprised if WE take ANYONE with us.
You see, you twist his words and come up with drivel. Much like i did with yours.
whelan out.all he wants to 2 do is bring in cheap players make a name 4 them selves and sell em 4 a good profit.he is business man and thats wat he does.martinez tell him 2 f off.Personally, i wish whelan would tell Martinez to “f off” as you so eloquently point out with your ‘text speak’.
Was the school shut when you went?
Martinez management – its like fixing an LCD TV with a hammer.
Ok. Now to start with, I’m willing to bet that 90% of the people that either left or booed at ft, had stood and applauded at ht.First half we were superb, second, we fell apart. Now I doubt bobs team talk is ‘well played lads now let’s get Maurice’ so why do we collapse? Today, chelsea (a), spurs (a), man utd (h), brum (h), wanky (a)
Where did you get that pic of the brazilian girl – ace.
I’m afraid the time has come…If whelan WANTS to stay in the Prem then I suggest the following. Ask Bobby if he would like Paul jewell’s help. If he says no, then relieve him of his duties and give PJ the job until the end of the season.
But this must happen right now, ie today, to give PJ half a chance to do something before the window shuts.
I would love to give bobby miore time but it is clear that – for whatever reason – these players will not perform whilst he us in charge. Sad, but true I’m afraid
A very sensible post – even Martinez’s biggest fans can see there is no hope under him
you have your opinions unfortunatly for you its up to DW but then again you may get your wish shortly but I would just like to ask in your opinion and yours only Who would you suggest as manager
In my opinion and mine only i would give it to Souness if he would take the job.
Souness Surely you can think of some one better
I can think of a good few better, but they are with clubs, not living in Knutsford looking for a manager position.

21 August 2010 at 11:43 pm in reply to: Chelsea have scored 29 goals IN THEIR LAST FIVE GAMES #43558Have you got a problem with Bobby if so please keep to one thread you one trick pony youIts all our problem. He is a dog cack manager.
And your point being ?????Give him time not just two games ffs
How much time? Would 3 No consecutive 4 Nil (+) be enough? Or 14 losses on the bounce? Or zero points at the end of the season? Just wondering where you personally would draw the line – i thought he should have gone last season.
Why don’t you make a scene out of it and throw it at Martinez at the next home game?
are you a YES man?
Bob on the moon? Probably explains the inane drivel he keeps churning out in his post match apologies. sorry interviews.
Its already written!
Wake up? What to?Maybe you should try getting behind the team rather than calling for the manager’s head after 2 games. What help is that? And who could we replace him with? Ian Dowie?
Give the man a chance, I’d go as far as saying it’s the players more at fault than Martinez is.
They are HIS players.
Goalkeeper – not martinez’s
Back four – 3 are Martinez’s
Midfield – 2 are Martinez’s
“Strikers” (trade descriptions act may apply) – 1 is Martinez’s
Backroom Staff -All Martinez’sThe backbone of the team are his and Daves choices. Its about time he stood up and accepted the rap instead of blaming the players or anyone but himself. The guy is screaming out “Nervous Breakdown”.
Have I missed something or are we really Man Utd fo ok me some of our alledged support need to stop thinking we are a big club
No one is saying we are a big club. Just not 4 goals worse than a half decent championship side, with a player we let go 5+ years back, an overweight unwanted forward in Harewood, and a manager who clearly has mental issues.
Arsenal smashed Blackpool today at a canter. The only other game Blackpool will win is their home fixture against us unless Martinez is replaced quickly. However, some of the clubs fans are happy that we are awful on the pitch, but bobby is ace at stabding in that technical area, wishing the clock down for a goaless draw from the first whistle.
And to think, some ‘pundits’ had him down in the same bracket as moreno after the Villa result last season.
The same pundits I assume had England to win the world cup and that Aresnal team as more talent than the Wigan team ,time for a defensive coach
However you dress it up, Martinez is FACTUALLY our worst ever premierleague manager. Hutchins was sacked for far less (some would point out it was because he had a backbone and stood up to the fuhrer)
