The point Ste was with reference to the insinuation from Bigroy that we played a lone striker against Blackpool.
With regard to your point, yep, 4-4-2 is working really well for Leicester ….. just as it doesn’t work quite so well for some of the teams nearer the bottom.
As for making more changes, I doubt he will …….though if he were to, it would probably be to include either Davies or Wildschut in the starting line-up, with 2 up front……. but that would please you wouldn’t it ?
;)Bigroy ….. Can you count ? We were crap against Blackpool, but so were our 2, and then 3 forwards !
What the f is that side all about today????After that Blackpool performance, do you not think the team should have been changed then Ste ? Stop your whinging. ;)
Colchester had won their last three ………No they’d not Ste ……they won 3 on the trot, but then they’ve lost their last couple.
Take away his in vain huff and puff and falling over and he was as bad as Julius Aghahowa in front of goal for us! One of the worst strikers I have ever had the misfortune to pay money to watch!Edit- This is NOT a wind up!
Though the initial post may not have been a wind up, how about the edit ? Apparently, you never can tell !
Actually Ste, is was you who first implied that you didn’t rate them.
…………Sammy knows you know. He believes in Coyle Rosler and McKay our super coaches. They certainly got it all right. Nice one Sammy. But if that’s your opinion you are entitled to it and who would anyone else be to criticise the opinion of a fellow fan.;)
……. I am not impressed with perkins can’t tackle and won’t try to tackle ……..I’d wager that there’s not many who share that view mate.
Wish whelan and his family where on that out list ……… …………..…….. to be replaced by …………….. ?
………….Well Jewell got us a top half league table finish and all that without even trying! …………..………………. and then he followed that up by almost getting us relegated before jumping ship.
…………..Most shocking was the beginning of his relegation season ……….Also known as “his FA Cup winning season ……the greatest ever season in the history of Wigan Athletic FC”.
;)
I’ve not done anything aside from copy and paste from the BBC.OK Egg, point taken. However, the point I raised is still valid …….. it’s just that it’s the report which misrepresents the stats, not you.
As it happens, I fully agree that we should be aiming to score more goals than we do (obviously !), but it’s still a fair argument to say that the opposition can’t score if they don’t have the ball.
Well, apparently not according to the BBC. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33757354Myth: Possession equals success
……….In fact, if you looked at all 380 top-flight games last season, the team that had more possession won 155, drew 93 and lost 132. Divide that by 10 to get a 38-game season and Possession FC would have won 57 points – leaving them eighth in the table………Egg, Nice post. The only flaw is with the extrapoloated stats. You’ve just taken the flat average of a team who has more possession. You could obviously take the opposite view that shows the team with least possession only getting 49 points by comparison. So what. All we’ve doen there is show that on average, teams who have more possession will get more points than those who don’t.
As you rightly say, some teams will sometimes win games with only 20% possession. The key thing though is that they probably won’t do that all of the time.
Afraid Sharpes talk about smashing the league is looking rather foolish…………Yet completely writing us off after one game isn’t ?
Yes we played (mostly) today, but a little perspective might be in order.
Bobby Bull Shitter! ha ha haShame the picture isn’t of him mind.
