Yet again the FA believe that the World ends at teh M25.

No place for Leicester or Hull.

    :o

4 stadiums in the north west are proposed – 4 stadiums in the yorkshire/north east region so why not 4 in the south west ? it is the most densley populated area of the country

and the fact that the the MK stadium is a blank canvas with a constructed area for 45000 seats is something to do with it
I’m sure you meant South East and I agree with your post.

I have to confess that I’m biased, as I live in Milton Keynes. It is a good stadium and, as you say, it’s a blank canvas with an as yet undeveloped upper tier. A big advantage is it’s right by the A5 dual carriageway, is only 10 minutes from the M1 (even on match days) and has a mainline rail station.

When I can’t get to Wigan for a game, I’ll go and watch other teams and I’ve been to Stadium MK a few times. Couple of weeks ago I went and on the back of four straight defeats they got 9,000 on against Yeovil. Now I live about 4 miles from the ground and I left home at 2.30, drove there, parked up, got in and had a pint before kick off.

That’s a big part of why they’ve been chosen.

    At last, someone talking sense.

As for using Scotland on the left, not too sure about that, although we had some success with Lee McCulloch making the same switch from frontman to left midfield.

How about Paul Hart as Bob’s number 2?

We’ll probably win the FA Cup.

Funny you should say that. After we lost to Spurs a friend of mine immediately sent me a text predicting we’d get to the FA Cup Final. Apparently, and I haven’t checked it out, when Crystal Palace conceded nine goals to Liverpool in the league a few years back they went on to beat them in the FA Cup semi-final.

Get a tenner on it now. ;)

I have to say I was gutted when Cattermole left us.

I’ve changed my mind since though and think that Thomas and especially Diame are better players.

I also seem to recall that when Cattermole came back from injury last year he seemed to have lost a bit of sharpness and, dare I say it, looked to have added a few pounds. With his reputation for a good night out, being sidelined with injury and being back up in the North East, I reckon he might well end up doing nothing this year even when/if he returns from injury.

As for being an England prospect then I agree that’s just what he is – a prospect. Can’t see him replacing Carrick, Hargreaves, Gerrard, Lampard, or Barry in the centre of midfield just yet though!

I think Scotland is isolated up front and with very little support in the 4-5-1 system.

When the ball is played into him he holds it up well enough and then plays it (usually backwards or sideways) to another blue shirt.

That said, he doesn’t look likely to score even if we played all night. He had a couple of chances against their full backs today, but they had him in their pockets. Mind you, that Hangeland is quality and I can see him getting a move to big club. Scotland just couldn’t turn and shoot, couldn’t make that half a yard that any good striker needs to be able to do. Also thought he could have reacted quicker to Nzogbia’s shot late on that was cleared after Schwarzer saved it.

Overall, he does a job that our system needs, but I hope we can find an alternative in January that can do the same job and grab a few goals as well.

    80-90 Fulham fans?

If there were more than 40 il show my Kaiber on Canal Street!

To be honest i thought the crowd was dissapointing for all the offers on etc!

Hate to tell you this, but my lad got bored in the first half and counted them!

He got to 165 and gave up. He’d only got about 2/3 of the way as well, so probably nearer 250 – 300.

I miss it. It was the highlight of our season, and we took some good turn outs to footballing outposts like Barrow, Runcorn, and Alty.
Is it really 30 years ago when we played Northwich in that fog?

my dad tells the tale of that match. didn’t you get bricked or something.?
That one reply makes me feel really old. I was 11 when I went to that game.

Mind you, I might have had more in common with Mr Logic at that age than I do now!

Haha, the Everton one is the killer.

    Nash and Baines
I’m going to be honest and say I missed one ‘cos if I hadn’t read this post I don’t think I would have got Nash.

    Thanks Duke.
