These clowns should have submitted transfer requests the day after the season had ended instead of waiting almost three months until pre-season is finished and the start of the league season is a week away.
They are disruptive influences who should fuck off sharpish. Even allowing them to train with the reserves is too kind for them.
Sounds like a good idea to me, and he’s not a bad little player from what I remember. His brother Steven was canny. Noel was a journeyman lower league plodder who briefly played in the premier league for Reading, as backup to Le Fondre.
Possibly the best crowd of the season tonight.
75 less than Thursday
You’re probably not wrong Don…Blackburn on 28/10 should run it close though.
It was almost 6,000 less than the friendly against Liverpool last July
But that was a weekend afternoon, not a wet Friday night
True, but it was also a weekend where Man Utd also played here, so supporters had two chances to see top class players, whereas this year it was Liverpool or nothing. Plenty folk said they would go to one or the other, but not both. Whilst 12,000+ is a cracking attendance for a friendly, it is also a sign that the optimism of last July when Will Grigg was on fire and we’d pissed League 1 is not as prevalent.

The pitch has been prepared to the standard of player we have at the club. Good passing football isn’t the way in League One.
I can understand the logic in moving the Bury game, but why would the Portsmouth game be shifted?
Why is the BBC reporting he’s gone on a Free Transfer when he was bought in January on an 18 month contract?
Doesn’t Sharpy realise we are not a fucking charity and need money coming in from player sales.
Wheres Grigg gonna go?? Nobody in champ gonna want him.Grigg is an excellent example of a player who is not able to bridge the gap between League 1 and the Champ. Brentford sent him on loan when they got promoted. MK Dons didn’t buy him when they got promoted, and Brentford didn’t fancy him on the back of a successful season with MK Dons, hence why he ended up at Wigan.
I think the best we can hope for is for Grigg to be back on fire this season, and some desperate Champ club pays top dollar for him in January, like Norwich did with Wildschutt.
Club will say no need to sell but also remember some players wont want to play division one footballMost of the squad either played it with Wigan or with another club. One season in the Championship as a member of a side that finished below everyone bar Rotherham doesn’t give them the right to play in that league for the rest of their careers.
Lets not get too hasty about his credentials. He’s got non-league sides into the football league and 4th tier sides into the 3rd tier. His new job is to get a championship side back into the championship and keep them there – a task that as yet he hasn’t attempted.
We only shifted 9,000 season tickets (including the free ones for kids) last year.
Sticking a minimum 40% hike on last years’ price after a season of failure is really not going to create a stampede to the DW Ticket office!
They’ll be lucky to shift 5,000 season tickets this time round.
The longer they leave it, the less chance they have of getting anyone bar the most uber of fans to buy a ST.
I’m beginning to think that despite failure last season there’s going to be a significant increase, and Sharp & Jacko are looking to bury the announcement underneath the fanfare of unveiling a new manager.
Maybe the new man is in place but still under contract until the summer?Seeing as the football league season is over for all bar 6 managers, then unless its one of those, why would we not have appointed them already. I cant see either Wagner or Stam moving to Wigan, so its 4 managers that are still at their desks – the rest have already finished for the summer.
If its to save a couple of weeks’ wages (at the expense of a decent pre-season), then we must be really fucking skint!
Sharpie’s probably trying to work out whether he can do a Bradford-style ST offer in the hope of maintaining the support.
Any price rise will result in about 20% not renewing.
I hope its not Stubbs. The guy was deemed not good enough by the only club who finished below us this season.
