Where in your analysis is mention of Caldwell? Common sense will tell you that if your captain can’t get it right, the other players confidence takes a hit. He was by far the poorest player with Watson behind, then Jean.
No surprises for me, England are the most over-rated international team I can think of, and have been for as long as I can remember, sure there are moments of joy, the odd good result, but that’s the same for all countries, I really don’t see how we can think of ourselves as any better than the denmarks and portugals of this world, let alone ze Germans and Spain.
I think all the expectation comes from the Premier league, the fact that it’s touted as the best in the world, skys relentless marketing and coverage, building up hopes and building up players. But let’s get real, the majority of quality players in the premier league play for other countries, and without them the league would be shite, so I can’t see things changing anytime soon!
Bloody hell is there a parrot in here? These comments are churned out by me regularly but don’t receive the attention probably because I don’t go anymore! I’m not in the clan so all opinions are less valid.
Good post nevertheless John.
James Milner should have got himself clobbered by the French keeper in the first half & got us a penalty. Its not cheating or gamesmanship but England had used their skill & movement to create a chance & Milner should have drawn the foul (in itself a skill) rather than leaving himself with a chance that was always going to be harder to score then miss
Eh? Fouls are supposed to be an unexpected occurrence which leads to the referee making a decision. Suggesting that Milner should have deliberately gone through the goalkeeper, using the excuse that England had a good build up, and then applauding the “drawing of a foul” as a skill makes you a complete hypocrite and an ambassador for cheating before an event has taken place. People like you are the scourge of football but hey, you are in a majority.
How sad.Still , as long as the price is right clubs , and it seems some of their fans , will whore themselves out to whichever foreign syndicate comes along flashing the cash. A century of history changed by some bleedin foreigner who’s been there two minutes.
Of course it won’t stop at changing the colours. The more foreign owners that come into the game will mean it’s only a matter of time before some poor unfortunates will see their club being moved , Wimbledon style , to God only knows which part of the country.
Great post :)
Publicity stunt written all over it! Good media for Wigan Athletic a great move.
Aren’t considered good enough under Allardyce you mean? Faubert is an accomplished right sides player with a wicked cross I’d take a punt with him giving Boyce abit of competition.
Oh and your judgement of players based upon appearances for other clubs is abit uneducated don’t you think? Watch him play first of all it may help instead of judging him on a release! I’ll have you know he was one of the top earners which may have played a part.
Jeff Montero from Villarreal. They have been relegated and Jeff was loaned out to Real Betis this season.
A highly skilled Ecuador international who wouldn’t command a huge fee. Even a loan deal would suffice considering his club’s predicament.
He’s here again!
For those who watch them on a regular basis will know that Guardiola provides high levels of motivation for his players. This is just another case.
Goodbye Mick :woohoo:
Short memories anybody get an impression of what Suarez was like with the World Cup antics?
Of course people will judge him over racism I made my mind up in 2010.
Football, what a soap opera with it’s guaranteed audience.
Evra’s conduct post match was hardly professional much ado about nothing particularly with the camera panning between the plays for large parts of the match when there was no need. The football freakshow carries on.
Well done to Wigan today.
Who makes these people “experts”? Something that always made me chuckle within football.
He was awesome for us but he doesn’t strike me as being the happiest bloke in the world so I can’t say it’s much of a surprise.
He was awesome twice, good on half dozen occasions, average a few times and mediocre for the rest of the time.
That said, mediocrity is a lot better than the shite we have at the moment.
I would have him back tomorrow along with the Heskey, Roberts, Cattermole, McCulloch, Bullard etc etc etc
Good post.
