Well done lads. Come on we can do this.
Just brilliant. Come on wigan we can do this.
After all the good times we have had at this football club during the past 18 years, cant we just accept that this season is purely & simply a sh1t one. As i have mentioned on another thread, clubs who are far bigger & with a lot more history than ourselves have had seasons like the one we are experiencing. It sometimes happens in football. & now it is our turn to experience a sh1t period. Just get on with it & get behind the team.
We did, yesterday.
Thats good to hear papa.. Now lets do it for the next 12 or so games….

I vote Paul Clements.
Remember him.Sadly i dont. 6 years before my time. I was born the year he played for us. My dad might remember him though.
Gareth griffiths was quite tall
30 billion less for overpaid and underworked civil servants and principal officers in local authorities to squander.
They will always be there on their 30-100 grand plus a year super salaries while they cut back on cleaners, porters and labourers on 12 to 15k a year jobs.& thats my worry donny. I find myself in that 2nd category you are referring to.
Yeah, you’re right: it was a bad choice of word. Best of luck trying to keep it together. It’s a shame so many vital services are at the sharp end, especially when there’s £30billion a year in unpaid tax which could be going towards them. Football is completely trivial in comparison, but some good news on the field wouldn’t go amiss. Seems a long time since Wembkey and Europe already.Sorry martin. Not really having a go at you & apologies if it came across that way, but whilst im far from happy at the state of things on the pitch at the moment, im far from depressed. Its as i say, its the way football goes sometimes. We’ve had 17 years of good times – starting from our promotion back in 1997 right up to the FA cup final of 2 years ago plus a stint in europe. Now we are experiencing the bad times. Yes i blame whelan for his appointment of “cheaper” coyle. But i will stick by this club no matter what. Ive watched ’em on the way up, i’ll watch ’em on the way down if need be – which i hope don’t happen.
From a football perspective martin i fully understand where you are coming from. However it is only football. What i find depressing is the fact that i have no idea what is going to be happening with regards my job in the next 6 – 12 months – a profession i have worked in for 23 years with some people suffering from severe depression. It is also a job i once considered to be a safe one. & with a family to support, mortgage to pay etc, etc.. that is what i find depressing.
Things might not be so great at the moment, but thats the way football goes sometimes. Yes its not good at the moment, but to use the word depressing is perhaps too strong a term IMHO.
The problem for me dates back to when whelan had the option of appointing either mclaren or coyle. He chose the latter, CHEAPER option & hence began our problems.
As for our current situation what concerns me is that NOBODY(im referring to the staff) at the club seems concerned about our fall. Im prepared for league one next season, as i believe are most fans, but think we will do better than what you vince think we will. Confidence is very low in this team. We start of well, then concede a goal & as a result – heads drop & the fight goes.
If we are to stay up – we have 14 cup finals, starting tuesday. If we want a champiinship team next season lets get behind the team – no booing, jeering, bemoaning etc.. Lets start getting behind them & who knows????????
Wigan Athletic did the same with the ‘martyr’ Roberto Martinez, 4 years of the worst football i have ever seen in my lifeHave you been at all this season yosser??
First 15 minutes then after that the same old story. Lost our shape once we lost kvist & best. But personally, i think our days are numbered now.
Well said vince. Far bigger clubs than ourselves have suffered the same fate as we have. Wolves as a recent example & look at how well they are doing this season.
Oh that’s alright then if bigger clubs have done it..
Yes because some of our supporters think we are bigger than what we are. As i say far bigger clubs than ourselves have suffered worse fates than what we have. Im not happy where we are in the slightest but we are where we are through poor play, poor signings, poor management choices etc, etc. We might get .back, we might end up like pompey or wimbledon, but i’ll be supporting my team no matter what
Let’s win at home, like we did last summer,
Let’s win at home, like we did last year.
Or should we just twist?Last home win in August and it will be spring again soon. What’s the odds on no home wins all autumn and winter? Another unbelievable season in Latics history. What was that motto The Council stole off us? Believe!! Shit it is getting hard to believe in this shambles but hey ho more matches next season with the football League Trophy and early cup rounds. Play offs anybody?
Ah the good old football league trophy (nee freight rover/auto windscreens). Who knows. Maybe next year we will be able to sing “We won it 3 times, we won it 3 times”.
