One thing I reckon we all agree on is that Magennis should be nowhere near the starting line up.
I’m sure he is great behind the scenes and working with the young lads. But the sorry truth is that any ability he had has completely gone. I felt embarrassed for him on Saturday.
Can’t really argue with that, still don’t know how he missed the target with that chance in the first half on Saturday.
What about Kelman’s chance?
And one season with no money, a team of kids, a bunch of players on big contracts and a minus 8 start doesn’t make a bad manager just because we don’t make the play offs or play like Prime Brazil every week
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
If we play tippy tappy football against Bolton we will be in for a 5-0 drubbing, and 3 empty stands long before the end.
That lot over at Horwich will be more than up for this one, dreading this game to be honest!
Frank talks 💩💩 everywhere he goes!!
With a lot of high earners off the books now I’d be looking at keeping:
Scott Smith
Jordan Jones
Jason Kerr
& yes, Stephen HumphrysMcManaman could do a job as an impact sub for another year.
The rest can go. However I feel Magennis will also be offered a 12 month contract. But I feel he will be one who stays in the changing room as a 3rd choice/ pizza cup striker.
Just got back from York brew and a phone flick and to be honest we got a result which was about as positive a view I can give.
But it seems Maloneys back to this pile of dog sh*t play it along the back 30 times then launch it.
J.Jones is back to run 3yrd turn back while the rest couldn’t string 2 passes together.
Like I said the positive was we won the 2 negatives
Back to Martinesque style football and Bolton’s now a midweek game.
If you build on your performances then we’d be lucky get out the footings. Why do players insist on fcukin passin when there’s half of Haigh Hall to run into !!!???.
2 strides pass regardless if there’s opposition pressure. The few times Jones and Hughes moved forward “With” the ball York basically opened up.Honestly that style of football doesn’t suit the players we have. Let’s hope the 3rd round gives us someone easy because a big Prem would tear our pants down and dry football bum us if we play like that well especially the first half
It wasn’t a case of Maloney reverting to the dire long ball crap. It was more a case of a very defensive set up by York which we found hard to break down. Godo & Jones were phenomenal the other night, yet hardly got a sniff last night. I thought from very early on that the game was going to be decided by the one goal.
Two most influential players not starting….2 important wins at home so why not tinker and see if I can undo the positive momentum. Totally static 1st half Humphreys mobility across the line and Godo’s pace and energy severely missed.Godos 20 years old ,he’d play twice a day !!!!Langs free kick unlucky but a poor second best 1st half.Make changes…..nearly rescued a point. Why ,why change a winning side….F### me Exeter is when yo can swap things. We re a relegation fighting league 1 side….not a Prem team in various cups, leagues etc.Rotating a team in this league is absolute bollocks. Find your best starting line up and if its performing stick with it…..change when needed and not for the sake of it. This one’s definitely on Maloney…..stop the f####### tinkering!!
Maloney has admitted he is at fault for the loss last night.
And just as I speak…….
West Brom could offload 33-year-old following his Wigan Athletic loan last season
Lot of posters on other sites questioning Langs selection and yes I can see some reason but he has played well in a few games so I tend to disagree. Aasgard is the one I find a luxury…….don’t see what he contributes for all his ability. The midfield and an old head in defence are big issues……we have no bite whatsoever in the middle and the young lads at the back need some guidance when things don’t go to plan……..I was very optimistic weeks ago but Blackpool, Bristol and the performance against Cambridge has me slightly concerned.
I get your point. I don’t think it’s a concerning issue. They just need a couple of old heads in there with them for as you say, guidance. Martin Kelly would have been a great signing along with an old head in midfield.
Just my opinion but i reckon the players are pissed off with Maloneys tactics etc.
Even more so now that Maloney has gone public on why Humps was dropped today.
Slippery slope for the manager.
Jees tonight! If you’re not talking 💩💩 elsewhere, you’re now doing it here.
I agree with Skeggy on this one. But I’m confident Maloney will get things right in the long run.
We’re blowing hot & cold as we have a team of young, inexperienced & at times nieve kids coming up against seasoned pros. It’s all a learning curve for them. But with the likes of Rekik back & Sessegnon, Hughes back from suspension, I do expect SM to change the starting line up for the next game.
But its a f***ing jokeWhat did we do to ruffle the feathers of the EFL in the first place?
Jones would have been a regular starter had it not been for the signing of McClean. Similar to Humphrys, Jones can hopefully get a chance to show us what he can (or can’t) do.
Sze isn’t an out & out or lone striker. Playing alongside a striker or behind I believe is his correct position.
