Just seen a statement from the EFL that the 12 point deduction WILL stand & come into effect at the end of the season.
Is that half time score a record for half time?
Regardless, a new record for Wigan Athletic. One for the history books to go in next seasons programme.
The way I see it we’ve stayed up now. The team has performed a miracle by clawing themselves adrift at the bottom to mid table security. If the EFL then choose to relegated us and reward failure to a club potentially with 12 points less than us then so be it. They then need to justify how that protects the so called integrity of the league
Any other season Lowey, we would be safe. But if the 12 point deduction comes into effect we find ourselves joint bottom & 4 points behind. I’m just hoping & praying we can win the next 3 games with other results going our way.
I agree with what everyone has mentioned so far. I was so proud to call myself a Wigan Athletic fan tonight.
Thank you Jay. I believe you have summed up everything perfectly in your letter. I guess we wait with baited breath the response from the EFL.
On behalf of all Wigan fans basilrobbie, I would like to thank you for your posts on both this thread & another thread you posted on. You more than anyone will understand our current plight having been through something similar with your own club & The Oystons. Once again I thank you for your kind words of support at this very worrying time.
Better to have a club than no cub atoll all I’m hearing is rumour here rumour there with no concrete proof I’m pretty sure if their was a concrete story here the national press will have their far Eastern contacts on it as we all argue about how hard done by we’ve been so hopefully the stories will grow but I doubt it and the 12pts will stand at the end of the day we still need a buyer or we’re doomed.
You are spot on! Having a club to support is of far greater importance irrespective of what league we find ourselves in.
You always laugh at the negative things that happen to your rivals, but as I said many times I never wanted them to go bust. You need said rivals otherwise what’s the point.
