Accrington Stanley
Who are they?
Perhaps (& I’ll get my tin hat ready for this),the board are quietly preparing for League 1 again. In Cook they have a proven manager at that level, plus most of the team are better suited to that level also. The youngsters will get more of a run out in League 1, & if folk are saying they are as good as they are, we might end up ripping League 1 again.
I, personally am not saying that I want League 1 football again. I dont! But sometimes, one has to take a step backwards in order to take two forward.
Now! Where is my tin hat??
Similarly aren’t some Wiganers just content with their lot ?
Our lot being a lower end Championship team, or maybe a top end League One team.
Where do you think we should be aiming?
I think virtually everyone knows that we punched well above our weight in the Premier League, and the financial muscle now needed to get back there is well beyond all but a few.
I actually think “our lot” isn’t too bad.
Yes, it’s frustrating, but I don’t think you can call our position in the scheme of things a “lot” to be content with.Very well put!
If we get Rhodes it’s a few years too late.Might be, but I think he would be decent between now & the rest of the season. He could do a job for us these next few months.
I think our team/players are better than what most give credit. They are just managed wrong.
Seems that being in work was the best option.

Is he just the cheap man’s Powell ?
Hopefully the injury free powell[/quote]
His name does rhyme with Powell
What’s the point of signing another benchwarmer. Cook doesn’t believe in strikers that’s why our own don’t score. But would he be? I’ve just checked his stats & he is still 29 – 30 in February. He knows where the goal is. Im pretty sure he would start from the off. For 6 months, I would definitely have him on loan.
I see he can take penalties too – that means Windass won’t have to go near them again!Hurrah & Hallelujah!
Personally, I’d have thought Evans would be better suited for penalty duty.
About 3 years too late and we won’t beat Celtic in a raceAbout to say the same thing myself. But for 6 months, could he do a job?
Cup on Saturday irrelevant, think he needs to give that line up a good restHey who knows! We might get to see Gelhardt for a full 90.
He will need to be very eagle eyed as a manager.
In all honesty, performances have improved these past 4 – 5 games, but without anything to show for it. Hopefully, just hopefully things will start to pick up & this could be a massive confidence booster for the team.
Hope we can keep it up.
