Let’s give the guy a chance and get behind him. I know Critchley was a front runner (my choice) but Kolo played and has coached at a high level under Rodgers unlike Joyce who did fcuk all.
I’m sure a budget will be on the table come Jan so let’s hope he can bring one or two in and pull us out the sh1t and hopefully keep us in the Championship because I truly don’t know if I can stomach another season in L1.
First and foremost he’s a defender which has got to be a good thing and stop us from going behind in every fookin game.

1 main thing, I hope he wipes the slate clean and some young blood and signings a chance. Blackburn ain’t scared of giving their young lads a go.

Could have been in a far worse situation than league 1 again. Could very well have been no club whatsoever. We are a club who currently fluctuates between the championship & league 1.

If it is Toure who becomes the new manager, I’ve no doubt he has a lot of contacts at Arsenal & Leicester. Could be exciting times. Or it could go tits up.

The odds that I’ve seen are either Critchley or Ferguson. Gerrard is on the list, but nowhere near the favourites for the job.

As much as I like Leam & will forever be grateful for what he has done, the football we were playing under Leam was not the greatest. It was just about tolerable in league 1. But in the championship you will be found out if you continue to play hoofball. Yes! We got off to a good start. But teams now know how to play against us. We have become very easy to play against. And Leam never seemed to learn from his mistakes sadly.

Fake photo accompanying Fake news. Hopefully your owner isnt a fake sheik.

Still waiting for an answer as to why you visit a forum solely for fans of Wigan Athletic.

Regarding Pearce, there’s one thing he can do and he does very well is hit a cross early and at pace. LR simply doesn’t fancy him and will p1ss around using everyone else bar Pearce.

As someone mentioned earlier, if your face doesn’t fit that’s it. LR chops and changes weekly based on the oppositions line up. What we need is a settled side and concentrate on us not them and fookin stop over thinking it.

Broadhead for me is they key, he needs to start every game. There’s goals in him for sure but does his face fit along with Scully and Pearce ?

    Agree with everything there!

I think all three , Bennett, Pearce and McLean leave us vulnerable defensively. I was surprised we didn’t recruit a left back in the summer as it was one of our weaknesses last season too.

What’s the latest with Danny Rose?

in reply to: Cardiff City #197190

If we can get Rose to sign & hence get him back to fitness, we solve our LB position.

I’d have to agree with your assessment phoenix. However & personally, I thought Power had a decentish game. Not his best, but certainly not his worst either. McClean has gone IMO. Just doesn’t have the pace anymore to take people on. Unless he has lost his confidence somewhere along the line.

Maybe if the home supporters could get behind the team from the first minute to last, instead of jeering, berating, moaning every misplaced chance, pass etc, or sitting there in silence as if they’re in a morgue, home performances might improve.

Teams rub off from their supporters. When opposition fans sing that our support is full off 💩💩, they’re absolutely bob on I’m afraid. And it’s got nothing to do with the numbers.

Reading are off to a flier. The question is will they be there or thereabouts come the end of the season?

in reply to: Clueless Leam! #196972

As has been posted on another site, if ever there was a time to now give the starting line up a change, now is the time.

in reply to: Clueless Leam! #196960

Believe you & me, I ain’t happy clapping after that today.

in reply to: Clueless Leam! #196936

Martinez was a clown according to some yet won us the FA Cup. He’s that crap a manager he now manages the team ranked number 2 in world football.

in reply to: Best 10 man performance ever? #196935

Yep! That’s a pretty decent shout. How about the Leeds game from a couple of years back when Massey scored a brace?

in reply to: Championship Standard – thoughts #196914

Very early days to make an accurate assessment. The three promoted clubs might just be still on the promotion high and in time injuries and fatigue will take there toll. I still think avoiding relegation is the main target for the season but ask the question again in the new year and we will see where we are at. In the mean time Latics fans should thank their lucky stars we have Leam Richardson as Manager , he has produced a team spirit which I doubt can be bettered at any other club ,what a result yesterday with ten men for most of the game. What a club Wigan Athletic are , I think you must agree with me Mutty !

I agree with you Phoenix. But certain people think he’s a 💩💩 manager.
