Its gilks contract that’s the problem at the moment as if he plays again a fee is involved and the board are reluctant to pay it.Either way it’s not good news. I was firmly in the ‘Believe’ camp until i saw the shocking team selection yesterday, Barrow needs to play his strongest eleven in the next three cup finals to at least give us a fighting chance of survival! The hierarchy at the club need to butt out of team affairs….ie Haugaard over Gilks! Shocking team selection??? Leaving aside fitness issues that you and I know nothing about I don’t think Barrow got the team selection “shockingly” wrong yesterday. The only surprise was the inclusion of Tunnicliffe who was no worse than anybody else on the day. Perkins for Morsy perhaps, but again Perkins was no worse than anyone else and Morsy has been very average of late, twice being hooked off at half-time in recent games. My only gripe would be Power who has been found out at this level and was poor again yesterday. However, he does cover a lot of ground and gets forward more than any of our other midfield options. Maybe Byrne for him but that’s gambling on an untried player. Obertan was poor but who else do you start with other than a less than 100% fit Powell? Finally, Haugaard’s confidence is obviously shot and should not be starting ahead of Gilks but that’s not Barrow’s fault.
Nothing shocking about putting a team out with seven midfielders in it and another four midfielders on the bench and players playing out of position. Not to mention out of form players picked again. With respect Sam you are a glass is half full man but it was a tad shocking to me.
I take it maths isn’t your strong point so you’ll have to name the seven midfield players who started yesterday. Which players were out of position? Who is in currently in form, Powell excepted? Whoever sanctioned these balls up loan agreements needs a refresher course in “Human resource strategy to improve organisational performance “….or piss off!!!.From the Bogdan loan through to the farcical Morsy and Haaguard deals we have had our chances of avoiding the drop seriously screwed by a total recruitment cock up..When in league 1 ease let’s keep signings particularly loan ones as some as possible…..difficult I know in today’s agent infested player pantomime.!I’m not necessarily referring to the whys and wherefores of the contract details. My concern is that the club is willing to jeopardise any chance of avoiding relegation by insisting a player is picked for purely financial reasons, unless the money involved is exorbitant which I fail to see can be the case here. If that is true then we really are on a slippery road and doesn’t bode well for the future If these rumours are true about Haugaard having to play because a contractual issue means the club would be subject to some financial penalty then I find that quite alarming given our current predicament. Don’t change a winning team, as the old cliche goes!Well he changed a winning side for the Barnsley game and won again. For the Brighton game he picked Perkins and Tunnicliffe instead of Morsy and Connelly. If you are referring to the team that finished against Barnsley then it would be Byrne and Colclough who were replaced plus Obertan for Powell. I’ve already said why he probably didn’t fancy Morsy and Byrne for the Brighton game and believe those changes were made to prevent being overrun in midfield. We’ve seen enough from this particular poster in the past to know he has obvious issues and therefore should be left alone. To debate this man further serves no useful purpose other than to make his condition worse which is both cruel and unnecessary.
As already has been suggested he needs help, medical help, and no amount of counter argument and reasoned response towards him on here will change his situation.Maybe, Sammy.
But does that mean he gets away with accusing me of things?
But you’re not dealing with a rational, normal thinking person GL. Are they boycotting games in protest?Morsy got booked and followed it up with two more fouls, one just on half time. I wasn’t that surprised when he didn’t come out for the second half, one more foul and we would’ve been down to 10.and we might have lost. It was being debated on 5Live one morning this week and I couldn’t believe the air-time it was receiving. Firstly, it was a silly and inappropriate thing to say for someone in the media spotlight but, it was not a “threat” as some were trying to make out, it was clearly made in jest, the lady journalist to whom the comment was directed didn’t complain or take offence and later accepted Moyes’ apology. Interestingly, the journalist involved was not included in the debate which, given it was a BBC program and she a BBC employee, speaks volumes. No doubt the BBC wishing to protect itself from a charge of double-standards should she have dared to make light of the issue. Mr Whelan pulled the plug on any investment in the club once we won the fa cup.
That is a FACT.Are you complaining about that or just stating the obvious? And if you are complaining, if a wealthy local business man came along to your failing football club and said he was going to secure its future by paying off all the debts and build a brand-new stadium with an aim to take the club all the way to the Premier League (and as an unexpected bonus, win the FA Cup) but at some point when it became unsustainable to continue to bankroll the club as a result of the loss of income through relegation and stagnant attendances, even though he was offering one of the cheapest season tickets around, but nevertheless leave it in a healthy financial position, would you have objected to that? I believe yosser has previously revealed himself to be a rugby supporter which would explain his denial of anything factual regarding Whelan. That performance surprised me JR, better than expected.
Thought Connolly switched off for their first goal, poor defending!
We came out in the second half and had a spell of play that Newcastle struggled to cope with. Three great chances, Scored one, missed two, story of our season so far..
Draw would have been a fair result for me.BTW, Jacobs goal was taken superbly. Not a lover of him but credit where it’s due. It was poor defending for the first goal.
However the player at fault was MacDonald who let Diame run past him and get his cross in for Gayle to score. Maybe he was carrying an injury but he was well off the pace and got caught out numerous times. No surprise when he was subbed. Can’t fault the players for effort and they were undone by a fluky winner but it’s been evident all season we are lacking quality, especially up front. The kermits regularly affected my workers rights usually by blockading the ports stopping me my company and Britain from working and costing fortunes. They also stopped me from driving through France at weekends again restraining my earning potential. I remember thinking as I was parked up for a day and half on the M20 unable to move “those little scallywags”. If they spit the dummy out when we leave the tunnel will never be open lol.And what makes you think anything’s going to change now that we’re out. The likelihood is it will get worse.
