Whelan was at the game did you not see him ?I didn’t go to the game and my comment was metaphorical. Look the whelan family stopped funding this club with their own finances after the fa cup win thats all owd oh feel sorry for me i broke my leg shit
Now we are fxxxd because where do we get money from to keep this club going ._.The whelans got 7m for the only asset we had left to selll
This club is fxxxxd unless we can find a buyer._and it wont happen ._whelans can fxxx off
Yea im well pissed off as you can see ._but ill speak my mind about my club unlike some ass lickersI’ wonder if Whelan is sipping his gin and tonic over in Barbados thinking why the fuck did I bother. You in WS5 Sammy ?
I too saw the bloke screaming at the directors box and pointing at Joyce, screaming for him to be sacked …..apoplectic probably covers it , I thought he was about to
Have a ‘funny turn’Yes. His seat is not far in front of mine. I got the full frontal view. I though he was about to explode. And they say there’s no passion in the West Stand….!
That wasn’t the Jimmy Savile lookalike was it?A couple of rows behind me and going bright red in the face.
No that wasn’t him.
He was about five or six rows back from you in the eight o’clock direction. You in WS5 Sammy ?

Have a ‘funny turn’Yes. His seat is not far in front of mine. I got the full frontal view. I though he was about to explode. And they say there’s no passion in the West Stand….! I doubt the booing at the end of last Saturday’s game was specifically directed at anyone, neither manager nor players. It was just an outburst of frustration from fans to the piss poor performance. When Bogle was subbed however it was not in doubt; the booing was direct at Joyce. In fact, one chap in front of me stood up and in a animated fashion vociferously vented his anger at the director’s box. “Get HIM sacked”, he repeated several times, pointing at Joyce. He was apoplectic and I was a bit concerned about him. I was almost at a point of asking a steward where the nearest defibrillator might be. Nathan Byrne could have possibly been a better option than nothing Sam but that’s why Sharpie re-vamped the scouting system to find suitable players for the club. Surely we could have found one fit left winger/ left sided midfield player of some description.Nathan Byrne was already at the club so does not qualify as a player that, as you are suggesting, needed to be found.
The club must have thought he was not ready to challenge for a first team place so is now out on loan. So what makes you think he could have performed the Wildschut role when the coaching staff obviously didn’t.We certainly do miss him but at £7.5 we couldn’t say no. We knew most of January that there was a good chance of him leaving so why oh why could we not have found a replacement for him who was fit and ready to start playing immediately after he had left?Have you any suggestions who might have fitted the bill and agreed to join an unfashionable Championship club rooted to the foot of the table all season? He isn’t a fan of 4-4-2 or hoof football I believe. I noticed David Sharpe’s football consultant was in the directors’ box yesterday. The last time I saw him there was against Brighton. Three days later we were managerless. I despise the rugby as much as anybody, but if this is indeed a voluntary action then fair dos.
Mind you it will take many more selfless gestures to make up for lindsays never share a ground antics.Voluntary action?
They ruined the pitch by playing on it when clearly unfit and it cost £200k to put right. Nothing voluntary about it.At times you really were treated no better than animals, literally in some cases like when we were put in the animal pen at Southampton station waiting for the train home.
The irony of that story is the Chief Constable of Hampshire writing to the Observer to say how well behaved the Wigan fans had been.I enjoyed that trip Sammy and had a great day with the Southampton fans. Strange ground the Dell but good .
I thought the train journey there and back was the best part…! At times you really were treated no better than animals, literally in some cases like when we were put in the animal pen at Southampton station waiting for the train home.
The irony of that story is the Chief Constable of Hampshire writing to the Observer to say how well behaved the Wigan fans had been.We hadn’t much choice that day Sammy.
Frog marched with a full Police cordon trough the City and straight into the ground, caged up inside the ground, frog marched back to the station, caged up at the station then shoe horned into the train and sent back up North.
It was fun watching football in those days.
True, we hadn’t much choice and not much chance of breaking through the cordon if you tried.
Is this still allowed today, human rights and all that?At times you really were treated no better than animals, literally in some cases like when we were put in the animal pen at Southampton station waiting for the train home.
The irony of that story is the Chief Constable of Hampshire writing to the Observer to say how well behaved the Wigan fans had been.Being caged in at Blackpool in the FA Cup in 1979. I distinctly remember looking around and thinking if anything was to happen there was no way to get out. I bit prophetic as it turned out. Well that has been one of the major problems Sam, the lack of quality crosses into the box. That’s not what I said. The perception maybe a lack of quality crosses but if Grigg had managed to get on the end of some and convert them into goals you’d hold a different view.
He had an excellent season for us last year but this year, for whatever reason, he’s been woeful.
