What’s wrong with having a minute silence before the game and leaving it at that? No symbolism, no political or religious connotations, just respectful acknowledgement of those who have lost their lives in conflict. Should it be deemed necessary to also wear the black armband with the poppy included, as has happened before and therefore a precedent set, then why run it past FIFA again and put them in the awkward position of have to rule on it. It would appear the FAI didn’t consult FIFA regarding the Easter Rising commemoration and nothing came of it until now where, as a direct result of the England/Scotland poppy fiasco, it is being investigated. This whole controversy has been orchestrated to whip up public anger over something that had previously remained a sombre and respectful tribute.
The clue is in one of. You know Samantha, one of, meaning one of the team of coaches and staff that got us promoted. A full compliment to the man not a back handed compliment. So he was one of the major reasons for last seasons promotion even though he may do sweet fuck all.
Brilliant……Side wins after manager sacked. Nothimg whatsoever to see here
Its no wonder these boards are dead with comments like that!
This board is frequented less and less because many long standing contributors have grown tired of the inane drivel posted by the likes of yourself land donny.
He was one of the major reasons for last seasons promotions. The man has earned and deserves respect, not ridicule even if he does s.f.a.
How do you know he was over and above anyone else?
Aa good a backhanded compliment as I’ve ever heard.
Probably nowt to do with Graham. Would probably got exactly the same result with Gary. Played the same game, lots of possession and only two shots on target. Swapped a striker struggling for service with another struggling for service. This style of football whoever is in charge may keep us up but for entertainment for some it is not their cup of tea. However a win is a win and Saturdays feel better with them.I take it you went today and we are now enjoying a first-hand take on the game.
That would be the controversial Mr Nigel Pearson?
He doesn’t seem to get along with owners of football clubs all that well, falls out with the press and has a liking for putting opposing players in headlocks!
So who do you reckon should get the job?
I think Giggs is probably the more inspiring of a uninspiring lot.

Investigative journalists also uncovered the corruption that was rife in FIFA which lead to the downfall of both Batter and Platini.
It would be blatant hypocrisy to applaud journalists for exposing the wrongdoings in FIFA but condemn them for doing the same in this instance.
Surprised he was given the job in the first place considering he has previous.
I agree about sending him out on loan as he wouldn’t have had much game time with us this season.
You cant be serious the lad wasn’t given a chance at this level, if he wasn’t hacking it then yes send him out on loan but at least give him a chance!
He had a few decent games but nothing special. The last game he started was against Rochdale at the end of March when he was hooked off at half-time after a shocking performance. He never featured again except as a token half-time sub in the mauling against Barnsley.
Maybe one for the future so loaning him out rather than having him sitting on the bench seems sensible to me.
But what do I, Gary and his inept backroom staff know?Food for thought or do we adopt the ostrich approach and pretend it will never happen.
Blimey Sammy so now we know who Camerons spin doctor was lol.
Cameron’s spin doctor? I don’t think so.

Sammy, the tax has not come in yet tho it should have back in 2006. The tories tried to get it thru again a couple of months ago that’s when the EU commission threatened to sue the UK. God knows we have tried hard enough. I may not like Cameron but he tried to resolve the issues that he himself thought Britain needed but they didn’t budge. Do you think the EU will stay as it is now or do you see other members following Britains lead?. Also marrer do you think we were right now in hindsight not to change to the single currency. I wonder what will happen if others leave will the Euro remain. Back to the tax, we wanted to charge 10 quid but I’m not sure if that was daily or visit. I imagine it was a daily charge which would be quite expensive. Not my area of expertise but I’ll refer you the this:-
https://www.trucklocator.co.uk/truck-sales/2014/08/19/foreign-truck-levy-delivers-17-million-first-four-months/Nuneaton. The UK has been taxing foreign trucks for about two years now.
Since when have banks been concerned about to whom they lend money? They do not give a flyer about any affect it may have on EU jobs. They are only interested in how it will benefit them.
Do you really think this will change once we leave the EU?RP. A sensible and realistic post.
