How many tickets have we sold for Horwich? Booked mine last night.
Well that’s 1 at least then :)
The clubs in enough Sh!te as it is at the moment without stupid comments like that.
I asked a genuine question FFS.
Mind you it was a pretty shyte question in the first place. How the fek are we supposed to know how many tickets have been sold?
Go on then,I’ve got mine, my mates got he’s, that’s 3…
Well that’s all right then because I wont be asking anymore.
Waste of time contributing on here frankly.
So let’s be optimistic and say 30 members on this board posted to say they’d bought a ticket. How would you have responded to that?
Just curious like!
I’d only ever planned on going down for the one day. I was sort of hoping we would get knocked out to prevent having to make the decision whether to stay over for the following day’s proceedings.
Bobby’s penalty miss turned out to be a bit of a relief.

What kind of response were you expecting?
Did anyone on here go to this at Wembley? Sixteen sets of fans in Wembley at the same time.
Bobby Cambells penalty miss. Never seen a worse miss I don’t think.Yes, me.
Not Bobby’s finest moment.
The penalty spot had been heavily watered I believe…!I have always thought it unfair that a defender can be shown a red card for a foul to denying a goal scoring opportunity when deemed to be the last man yet an attacker only gets a yellow for diving.
Surely showing a straight red to an attacker for diving in the penalty box would be a deterrent against this kind of cheating.

Sanctimonious? You need to have a long look in the mirror mate with some of the crap that you’ve dealt on this subject.
Blasphemy works well for you it seems.
Not particularly since I’m certainly no God-botherer.
More important things to be concerned about rather than some invisible person in the sky.
Have suggested to the Club that they take a look at that website
As you appear to have taken a lead on this can you ask if they will be requesting that the PCC (Press Complaints Commission) or IPSO (Independent Press Standards Organisation), as is the new organisation, will be approached and any finding printed on the official website?
I’d be absolutely embarrassed if the club did anything but ignore it completely. Can’t believe anybody is giving it a moment’s thought. Get over yourselves. The Bolton lad will be made up that you’re even talking about it
Yes. That much that he has changed the format of the headline and taken away the offensive accusations for he knows that his stupid and crass actions could have closed down the blog that he writes for. If Cockney Latic had written anything as abusive do you think others would have rolled over and said – “oh look at them and their jolly japes, what a blast?” No they would have complained in the hope that the site was castigated.
And you Sammy, I’m not surprised you applauded Griff’s holier than thou approach the pair of you were jousting on your bloody high horses long enough.
Just remember, because it does not affect or insult you does not mean that it does not others. Your high and mighty attitude to everything you write is actually very pungent and onerous.
Sammy, it’s time me and you packed it all in now.
Lord Chief Knobhead of the Darby and Joan Club has passed his judgement.
I am amazed at the hypocrisy. Whelan is being defended on here for making stupid, ill conceived, insulting and dated comments when trying to make light of the pretty untasteful texts Mackay sent yet, when it’s thrown back at them in a very tongue-in-cheek way those same people scream, out of order.
Yes, £24 is a ridiculous price to ask.
We shouldn’t be surprised.
This was self inflicted and therefore avoidable.
Not by me it wasn’t. I’m not racist, and have done nothing to be called “racist fans”.
I’m quite sure you aren’t but if our chairman hadn’t opened his mouth you wouldn’t now be trying to defend yourself.
Is this Chris Manning chap involved in football or Bolton in any way? If not and therefore is not governed by any football jurisdiction what are you expecting to happen if you complain?
We shouldn’t be surprised.

Makes you wonder if all the self inflicted bad publicity we’re getting at moment is having an affect on the players.
And I don’t buy into the “he’s a professional footballer on thousands of pounds a week so should be playing to the best of his abilities, regardless” hypotheses either.
Why does he need to say anything further?
He put his foot in it with his clumsy way of trying to defend Mackay and I can understand his motives for doing so at the time, up to a point.
Anything else he says on the matter even if it’s reminding everyone of how it used to be 50 years ago is just making the situation worse.
The racist card is the easiest one to play and he seem incapable of realising that. He’s just setting himself up for ridicule every time he opens his mouth on the subject.
God forbid he’ll get another round of applause today.
Just shut up.
Why God forbid he’ll get another round of applause? He’s bang on with everything he’s said. It’s the media who are the Nazis. Why would you not stick up for one of your own against them?
This is Latics against everybody else, shouldn’t be any infighting over this.
Whether you or anybody else think he’s bang or not is not the point. He’s making the situation worse by somehow trying to justify that back in the sixties it was OK to say these things because they were in common use and nobody objected. Well I’m sure people did object but their objections were never heard or acted upon, a bit like the indecent activities that were going on back then that weren’t acted upon.
I don’t believe Whelan is racist and I’d like to think that the round of applause he got in the last home game was given in support of that. However, the more he opens his mouth on the subject and the more the crowd should happen to applaud him for doing so the more damaging it becomes. The club really will be in danger of being perceived as racist.
That is what is a stake here.

Good old Dave!, He has said Fek Aw again and is not bowing down to the PC brigade.
I hope he sticks to is guns and comtinues to tell the world about our culture, North West working man’s culture, instead of sucumbing to the media lynch mob.
He is honest as the day is long and dare I say it, calls a spade a spade. [reference to the digging implement rather than anything else that the media wants to interpret]
I feel proud to be associated with Wigan Athletic, I feel proud and fortunate to have Dave Whelan as our chairman. He is not a racist and nor am I for supporting him.
You have posted this without a hint of sarcasm?
He’s said he used to call Chinese people Chingalings – and so did everyone in Wigan.
It used to be okay to drag a woman by the hair into your cave. It used to be okay to drive oxen through the streets. It used to be okay to shoot a Welshman with a bow and arrow if sighted within the walls of Chester. It used to be okay to crap in a chamber-pot and throw it out of your window. It used to be okay to drive your car after a skin-full of ale. It used to be okay to smoke on a bus.
I don’t think for a minute he’s a racist, and I’m not saying I don’t think we live in an overly PC society, but you simply do not say things like that to the national press these days. Times have changed.
With each interview he’s making Wigan look like the insular, stuck-twenty-years-behind-the-rest-of-the-country town that people make jokes about. (If you live / work / socialise outside the borough, you’ll understand this)
It’s embarrassing.
Chingalings?
I was born and brought up in Wigan and I never heard anybody call Chinese people “Chingalings”.
He’s bringing shame and embarrassment on both himself and, more importantly, the club. Stupid, stupid man.
