Humphrys, Clare and Watts were an embarrassment today. Looked like players who have been on the piss and not trained all week

I’m not really arsed where I sit to be honest. My only gripe will be if we only charge United fans £30. Few years ago when we played them in the cup at Old Trafford they charged us £45. Sharpey was chairman at the time and I seem to remember him subsidising the cost and knocking £20 off every fans ticket.

I’d charge them £50 to come ours or are we not allowed to charge them different price to home fans?

Maloney’s love for Magennis is gonna come back and bite him. On no planet is Magennis a better option than Wyke.

Wyke already posting slight digs on his twitter/instagram. Team spirit looks really good but there’s definitely something simmering between Maloney and Wyke that we don’t know about.

Good performance tonight, especially 2nd half.

If only Tom Naylor had stayed, he would have been perfect to guide through the inexperienced lads. Would have been perfect captain.

Desperately missing a Naylor, Power, McClean or (god forbid) Tilt to add a bit of steel and experience.

Just listened to Maloneys interview after the game. He played 3 at the back because they throw men forward. That is such a negative attitude to have. Burton are shit. Pick a team to go out there and rip them apart. He got it very wrong today.

I agree about Magennis. He’s probably a really nice guy but he’s not good enough. Can’t jump can’t run and our best wingers were on the bench so he’s not gonna get any service from wide.

Needs to find a more settled team quickly. I said at the start of the season we had brought too many players in. How many wingers do you need?

                      Lang
                      Jones
                      Smith
                      Humphrys
                      Godo
                      Aasgaard
                      McManaman

Then we bring in Rekik and play him at full back ahead of Pearce one week and Clare the next week. He’s just a walking yellow card for me.

Maloneys interviews before and after the game seem a bit off to me. Something just doesnt seem right. I hope I’m wrong. I really do want him to succeed after all he did for us last season and pre season.

Definitely not the finished article yet but there’s definitely progress there. I mean we actually have players going through one on one with the keeper – when did that last happen. Also think we get the ball into very good positions out wide quite a bit.

It’s a job in progress with a number of young lads involved. Saw a stat yesterday that none of our players had started 30 games for us!

Think we need to show a bit of patience

Tickle and Hughes will both definitely benefit from a full season in league one. That won’t stop the vultures from swooping though. They will have them at their club just to stop others maybe benefiting from them in future years!!

I’m scared how good Matty Smith is having signed him on a free. Need to keep the vultures away from him and not lose him just a few months into his Wigan career. Same can probably be said about Clare as well.

Cracking value at £120,000 in wages per goal scored.

I really don’t like the way Whatmough has gone about this in waiting till the last minute to terminate his contract. If he’d done it straight after the final game of the season (which he played in btw) then I think there’d be a bit more sympathy.

But let’s not kid ourselves that the rest of the players are staying because of loyalty.

Whatmough will likely match or improve his weekly wage when he moves on. The reality is that the only other 2 players who could do that are Thelo and Hughes and because of this we have given them improved contracts. None of the other players are going to improve on the ridiculous contracts they already have so obviously they aren’t going to rip them up.

Meltdown ? Wtf do you mean ?, If you think he bought us to get the ground for the rugby your mad. He could have simply hung on and paid peanuts in administration then Wigan athletic would have gone and any new club would have no rights to play at the stadium.
Count your blessings, without Mike Danson we’d be dead and buried

I was referring to the meltdown of others.

I’m fully aware that without Danson we’d be totally screwed. I’m happy to embrace a “united” Wigan though I’ve never been a fan of any code of rugby.
