Interestingly, would Bogle or Power get in this team?
Probably not JR. I for one was very impressed with lee evans, who looks like a better version of max power.
I don’t understand the Bogle situation, as I can’t see a lot of difference between Toney and Bogle apart from Toney tending to stay on side, so Bogle would probably get a match if Toney wasn’t here.
I think Power has shot himself in the foot. Evans looks far superior to Max, and for me, Power isn’t good enough to displace any of our League One midfielders let alone walk into a Championship midfield.
For me Toney wins a lot more in the air, and doesn’t moan as much.
as well as staying onside.
I don’t think you can even mention Bogle and Toney in the same sentence. Toney’s by far the better player.Wins more headers than he loses, hold the ball up well, looks quick, works hard: all things Bogle didn’t do.
Reminded me of Heskey the way he nodded the ball on for the first goal and the ease he seems to have in holding it up.
a few more out then piley on, probably 5-6 loans and 3-4 new faces should bolster it up to the point that1/2 of them don’t get a game so we send them out on loan. Woolery the first to go to Swindon when Swindon have made it clear they would prefer to buy not loan so whats the fookin point of us loaning out a player who will be the next Mackay ?.
We need 25 players all with a shout of getting a game, period. And loans in ?, let’s look at some of the loans we’ve had over the past few years it’s comical ,,,ffs. The majority tbh don’t give a flying fook, their not because they want to be, because they have to be. Then when we get a half decent loan in remember Albrighton ?, couldn’t get in our side but wins a Prem medal.
Then there’s folk saying “It’s down to what the manager see’s in training”. Football is littered with lazy tvvats in training, players who don’t enjoy it or dont shine like a race horse on the gallops they save it for match day. So to base a team on purely how good they look in traing is utter fookin madness. I can’t imagine Powell been the best trainer but when he produces on the pitch he’s head and shoulders above the rest.
Albrighton was only on loan with us for 4 weeks – in which time he played 4 times, and got injured. Hardly a case of him not getting in the team. Plus, he was released by Villa at the end of that season, so clearly not rated by them.
With Albrighton at Leicester, I think it was just a case of being in he right team at the right time, because he’s no world-beater.
Have we ever had a worse kit supplier than Krappa?. Even Matchwinner provided better looking kits.
Don’t shoot me, but I like the Kappa kits.
And when we were in Gran Canaria last month, a few people commented on how they liked the shirts my boys were wearing, and thought they were European teams at first – only to discover on closer inspection they were lowly old Wigan.
They are a European team kit, won’t be for much longer though! :woohoo:
We’re not leaving Europe!!It’s only the EU we’re leaving. We’ll still be part of Europe, it’s just that your future holidays to Spain will be more expensive and you’ll not be able to afford anything when you get there!
If we all can’t afford foreign holidays then the British tourist industry should boom with everyone holidaying and spending £1000’s in this country instead of Europe.
That’s another boost for the economy after leaving the EU.
The leave decision just gets better.
Ah, but you see, your UK hotel will also have shot up in price because all your Eastern European receptionists, kitchen staff and maids have headed back over to the mainland, and the wage bill has rocketed as Brits have now replaced them. And the ingredients for all your ‘exotic’ European foods have also gone up in price – as will continental beers, wines and spirits, in the resort’s hotels, cafes and restaurants.
So you’ll be left with towns reverting back to Wakes Weeks, so that their newly acquired British manual-labour force can travel en mass in their Talbot-Sunbeam cars (all the other makes are owned by overseas companies and have relocated their manufacturing plants to cheaper locations in Europe) and on our dilapidated rail service to delightful places like Scarborough, Morecambe and Rhyl – where they can sit in the drizzle on grubby beaches (EU legislation no longer applies) eating British-Trawler-caught-fish and chips (a snip at £10.50) and drinking traditional, flat, cask ales.
Can’t wait. Up the Brexit! ;)
Blimey sw, how do you go from Latics new horrible cheap looking kit from a pityful manufacturer to a post like that.
BTW, this year I,m not having a fortnights holiday in a sun soaked location I,m having 3 weeks instead coz its only 500 quid extra for another week all inclusive so no massive hike in prices here marrer. Beer will still be cheaper as well.
I just think ‘sideways’ sometimes!Just the two weeks for us this year, and thankfully the fixtures have been kind and I won’t have to miss the first home game of the season for once.
Talbot, Sunbeam cars lol, what’s the chance of any still being about today and roadworthy lol. Rust came as standard fitting on all models. Anyway did they not get made at Peugeot later once the Rootes Group became defunct?.
I didn’t know that. Well, that’s the last option for you lot gone!I say you lot because someone on Twitter earlier said all those who voted remain should be assisted in moving to an EU destination.
I’ve opted for Madrid. See you soon folks.
Were the fixtures kind, or was it more like shrewd planning like I do???Purely by chance.
Book it last year and was prepared to miss the first game.

Quite like the front, the back is AWFUL!

I like that shirt. It’s fashionable and continental looking.
Wouldn’t buy one though because I’m over 40, over 6′, and over 16 stone!
Football shirts aren’t made for people like me.
Pompey fans seem to think they have landed him, summat on twitter also. Looking like we have ballsed this one up. Who now?.He probably wants to stay on the South Coast. Wouldn’t blame him to be honest!

Well Standish Mon if watching what we have put up with in recent years is your cup of tea well you are quite welcome to your view but there is only one thing to say about what we have endured lately and that’s FFS.One up front doesn’t have to be boring Donny.
All but three teams in the Premier League play that way, and over half of the teams in the Championship.
But it you think chucking another striker up front in lieu of a midfielder will guarantee you exciting football, then here’s a FFS back a you!
Well no matter how bigoted or racist or anti Europe the electorate is a Bangladeshi with a Labour badge in Wigan couldn’t ever lose. You mean a Mancunian – born and raised in Manchester, to an English mother and father originally from Bangladesh?
If we have to put up with the lone striker nonsense and passing out from the back then it perhaps wouldn’t be a bad idea to fund the purchase of a proven keeper rather than Doyle with the sale of Bogle. After all we still have Will Grigg.
Cooky was saying there would be some players leaving. I hope he has an idea who these are because I will be very disappointed if they have been on the jolly to Spain and really pissed off if players we intend to move on are participating in any part of pre-season activities. To use a well know text message abbreviation: FFS
Will there be nude wrestling?
Perhaps we should put that idea to the landlord at the ‘Brick”, as long as it was women only wrestling mind. It would draw the punters in, and at least we would get some entertainment on Saturdays.
It gets packed enough as it is! :(
Loads of room over in Griff Corner
From what I’ve heard, it’s a bit of an exclusive area down that end of the bar. Even the usually brave filmoss doesn’t dare to venture down there. For now, I think I’ll stick to the safety of my window sill area outside, I can make a hasty retreat from there if necessary.
I’ve been over for a quick chat several times but I know when i have outstayed my welcome ( usually as soon as I open my mouth! ) Outside smoking on the front or round the back for me ! :)
I’m, more often than not, a late arrival – especially now I take my eldest son and his mate – managing to chuck one quick pint down before I get ‘Can we go now?’You’ve probably gone by the time I get there.
Your joking, we are never in a hurry to get on the ground!
Probably round the back. I’ve not seen you and your hat for a while!
Aye but no hat these days, well not very often! I saw you a couple of times bypassing the pub and going straight on, we spoke briefly!
We did – you’re right. They’re the times I’ve been even later than usual and didn’t even have time for the one pre-match pint. Will there be nude wrestling?
