Standish,
2 of the more creative members of the V100s have been working on a homage to our favourite tufty-haired Trinidadian, to the tune of Flower of Scotland. It goes something like:-

“Oh Jason Scotland, when will you score…
A go-ooal for u-us, and hear us roar.”

It goes on to request he scores from a corner or even a “pen-al-teee”

It is struggling for a number of reasons:-

1, we don’t know the real words of the song to adapt
2, we don’t know the correct melody or meter
3, this is the West Stand – who are we kidding?
4, even the V100 evangelists have little enthusiasm for it
5, it will be redundant as soon as he scores… so actually, I suppose it has the potential to run and run, I guess

I do like that idea…..

I know the tune, but haven’t a clue of the words. As I have the next two days at home building Lego things and watching Scooby Doo, I feel a Googled ‘Flower Of Scotland’ coming on.

Right hand side of the end of the scarf. There’s a young lad, and then is that a young Fred West eyeing up future ‘party guests’? (Apologies if you know who this man really is)

been a while since i heard this one, west brom away ont tuesday night wen the duke got loads of abuse i think it was.went summat like,`lee hughes,is a murderer`,nice few choruses of that should do nicely for a warm up.

I thought supporters were supposed to sing songs about their own team, not merely goad the opposition.

I don’t think this applies to just Wigan Athletic supporters either.

When Sky Sports News interview people outside places like St James’ Park, I’d wager a decent amount of money on the assumption that few of those wearing replica shirts and singing ‘Sack The Board’ are GPs, Solicitors, or Merchant Bankers.

There you go again Mr Walker…………I believe you have already been warned about your humour………….Mark 4:5 ;)
I speak merely the truth on this one Micky.

BNP all the way for me.
Click the link and check out their policies, they make a lot of sense.
Not just immigration but everything from law and order to education and defence.

Yes, it looks great on the face of it doesn’t it? But, we all know the unmentioned undercurrent of the BMP. If you read ‘Mein Kampf’ I’m sure you’d find things in there that made good sense.

If you put a spin on it, you can convince anyone virtually anything.

I remember Good Friday against Port Vale when I was a kid, probably around 78 or 79.

I think we were losing 3-0 with 20 minutes left.

On comes the unpronounceable and very Scottish George or was it Frank ? Urquhart and bingo !

It was 1979, but because I was nine, I only remember the final score and the fact that hundreds of Wigan fans left before the end – when it was 3-0 to Port Vale. Some things never change eh?

The promotion game versus Reading wins it for me.

I’ll have a moan.

On Match of The Day, do Shearer and Hansen nip out for a fag when Wigan are on?

I’ve taken the yellow water before about our supporters’ paranoia regarding the media, but hang on a minute, even a ‘Yes, a good win for Wigan’ from Shearer would have done.

Instead, we get a focus on the ref’s position for the first goal, and then that bloke from the Walkers Crisps adverts (he’s not even a footballer for Christ’s sake) announcing that one of our players has won the goal of the month.

Dear BBC, this is simply not good enough.

I agree we get no positive comment from MOTD , but to say gary lineker wasnt a footballer,,,, did you never watch England late 80`s/90`s, get yourself on you tube pal, i cant stand the bloke either but he knew were the net was, cant argue with that.
I was trying to be humorous for fook’s sake!!! Lineker now presents golf and cricket programmes, is on Walkers adverts, and was on Mr & Mrs last night! His only association with football these days is on Match of The Day once a week.

Yes, I watched England in the 80s and 90s. I was probably the same age then as half of the posters on here are now.

And yes, Lineker was a great player.

Lineker isn’t a footballer? Don’t get that quote tbh.

Thought Mick McCarthy’s comment about the ref was quite funny.
Oh, is that who he is?

We need a new penalty taker. Rodders just dosent cut it first Stoke and now here today could be vital points lost

This is a p1ss take?

in reply to: N’zogbia #18531
Never mind watching it on the tele. Those that were there would have to say that hugo was different class all afternoon. Never stopped running, creating chances and threatening all day. Nzogbia was great second half but pretty woeful first half (bit like United away) and has a long way to go to be a better all round player than Valencia.

I didn’t go. My main ‘travelling companion’ has just become a father for the second time, and to be honest, I can think of nicer places to drive to on a Saturday afternoon than ‘Loverlee Wolverhamperton’

Tried to watch online, but the link was up and down.

How did McCarthy do in general? I’ve a feeling this lad is going to be a very good player.

Loudmouth

For once, I actually agree with you 100%.

I rated Bruce as a manager, but I think he is the type of bloke that once you’ve crossed him, you’ll never get back in favour. Martinez is completely different.

We’ve put an offer in for Boyd at Rangers, when we’ve just signed Caldwell. Boyd isn’t coming: those two can’t stand each other!

So, as an alternative, I would have a well managed Zaki back anyday, but I don’t think Whelan would.
