Imho the Championship is a step too far for Grigg as we already know. Why was Cole left at home when they went to Spain ?.
1 thing is for sure we need a huge improvement over last season. The divide between the Championship and League One level of play is bigger than ever. I just hope any new editions don’t become bench warmers simply because Cook has 1 way to play.

Grigg scored 6 in 5 two seasons ago until Caldwell completely changed the style of play to try and stop us conceding goals and I think he was lucky to touch the ball 6 times for the rest of the season.

Granted we didn’t concede many goals from then on in but we didn’t score any either.

Strength in depth and the ability to change things as you say when it isn’t working.

McManaman may just replace Massey or Jacobs as first choice winger.

The link they are using to say he’s a Wigan fan says nothing of the sort.

Does it really matter who he supports though?

Not cheap the new stuff is it? NINETY QUID for a tracksuit.

£75 for the kids version

Bit naughty that the baby kit doesn’t have a crest on the shorts. Basically just a pair of blue shorts with the Puma logo on that you are forced to buy for £38.

Don’t think we would need one with blue and yellow.

The whole process and situation is a farce that only one of the precious London clubs could have gotten away with.

Tend to agree, he is too old and same can be said for the three off on tour to Spain and two who have renewed contracts but again the truth is we really dont have a pot to piss in and these kind of players are all we can attract untill we know whats going on re this takeover.
Those facts Stuart pointed cant be ignored though Vat.

Colin Greenall was 36 when he got player of the year and man of the match at Wembley. Bear in mind players are far fitter these days.

Even if Hoolahan sits on the bench and offers us an alternative if it isn’t going right it will be better than we have now. How many times last season did everyone complain that our bench is weak?
                      No pleasing some people.

Carl Bradshaw – went to prison, club captain
Nick Powell – arguably our best player at the moment, drink driving ban

If he gets/is getting help off the field and helps us on it then I’m all for it.

The thing is though the final decision is still made by the referee, he just watches a replay which makes it even more baffling when he comes up with a decision like Sunday.

Not sure I get your logic there Vat.

A lad who has never played in England is a very clever signing in the toughest league in England.

Yet Hoolahan certainly, who has been there and done it in this league isn’t?

Yes, a lad who is an experienced 28 year old international, who has been playing in the Bundesliga, one of the top leagues in Europe. If he can play in the Bundesliga, I’m sure he will be fine in the Championship.

As opposed to a 36 year old who has been a bit part player at Norwich for 3 or 4 seasons, before being released. A ridiculous signing if we are to look to the long term.

It’s ridiculous you are even contesting this with me, Adam. It’s about time our fans started showing some ambition I think, instead of trotting along with the same old “we’ve no money” bollocks season after season, and putting up with crap like this.[/quote]

Money or no money, we need experience at this level and Hoolahan has it. The future is also about what the younger members of a squad can learn from guys like him.

Riera could play in la liga but he was shite. As for the Bundesliga being one of the best leagues in Europe, I beg to differ based on the competitiveness and German clubs success in Europe Bayern aside.

How is selling your best players for large profits “imploding”?

Based on that logic we’ve been imploding our entire existence.

Not a fan of Henderson, but thought he had a good tournament.
