Really? A thread from 16 months ago?
In a bizarre twist though, he then tried to take the plaudits for reopening the threads and then openly invited us all to call them until are hearts are content. Very strange, but all sorted in the end.
I still hate and despise the chubbies, and the Eggs attitude to all Egg hating Latics fans hasn’t helped the situationNever forget.
It was me who re-opened them. I’m not trying to take the plaudits, it’s true. You can slag them off if you want my problem was why it was happening on the football board when we had plenty of other things to talk about. Yes the ban threat was OTT but I would never have actually banned anyone (although it could be classed as spamming the board) it was trying to deflect attention back to topics about Latics. Then two or three more threads were started including ones that should have been sent as a PM as opposed to posted on the board.
As plenty people have pointed out (yourself included) this is a Latics site and so my argument was please can we talk about Latics. We’ve done that this week and there are some cracking threads on the go at the moment.
When I returned 27 yrs later it seemed that every 2nd voice I heard was Scouse.
Your problem being… ?
How long have you got? :P
I think QPR are all but gone if we win tomorrow.
We play Huddersfield on Monday at The DW. Thats free to ST holders.
They could yes. They aren’t Wigan fans so probably wouldn’t.
As I keep saying, if you claim to be a Wigan fan but haven’t been to a game in 15 years why should you get a ticket above those who have be it 1 game or 1000 games?
Love them to go down but as usual it’s got to the point where I don’t care as long as it isn’t us.
Hoping to make it to a game at some point – or for Wigan to do a pre-season exhibtion tour in the US a la ManUI think you’ll be waiting a while for that to happen unless you can sell the Wigan Athletic name. Welcome aboard.
I say the Arsenal game for different reasons as I never thought we had a chance – didn’t go as it was midweek & I worked in a school that didn’t allow leave during term-time. So watched it in the Black Horse up Tyldesley with my future wife & a Latics mate. The emotions were up & down that night as we gave away a pen, saved it, had 3 penalty appeals turned down (2 were so nailed on that I’m still not sure how they weren’t given) & then Arsenal pressure told as they went ahead on aggregate in extra time. It looked like Latics had just run out of steam with seconds remaining – my mate got up for a slash as he “can’t stand watchin them gits celebrate at full time”, I had a face on & was just about to snap at the lady for coming out with the “it’s only a game & they’ve played well” line, when the ball got punted forward by Kavanagh. I leapt up shouting, my arm getting tugged to sit down by my girlfriend coz I was “embarrassing”, bit of grunting & growning as Scharner & Roberts seemed to get the ball stuck under their feet & finally knocking numerous tables & stools over, screaming as it hit the back of the net. Closely followed by my mate coming legging it from the direction of the bogs, tryna do up his zip & with a fresh pish stain on his keks. I remember getting some shots in at full time & then the rest of the evening is a bit of a haze.
Had the mother of all hangovers in work the next dayQuality
It’s good to see that the people who support Latics from outside of Wigan actually bother to watch us and support us as opposed to just being pub fans like the majority of say Liverpool/Man Utd fans from London or elsewhere.
I bet there aren’t too many clubs our size who have fans that travel such a distance to watch a home game.
The jokey on “Teaforthree” will be wearing blue and white stripes. That’s usually my pattern for betting on the horses.
Isn’t this a brilliant thread – so far from the “I went to Goole Town and the rest are JCLs” line we often hear here.Sure is.
Should both sets of fans sing No one likes us we dont careShould get a banner sorted….
GUESS WHAT? WIGAN ATHLETIC HATE YOU TOO!!
As it’s Latics involved we all know what the focus will beCallum McMananan?
I love the Grand National at Blackpool. Top ride.
Just doesn’t feel safe to me. And neither does that Steeplechase ride where you sit on a horse. Always think I’m going to fall off[/quote]
The Mad Mouse is definitely a bit iffy. Went on that years ago with my Grandma and nearly knocked her out I hit her that hard going round a corner.
