Forgetting the result, which was shit….
5000 home fans and 4500 (bearing in mind they average about 5000) away fans. Can you imagine the stick we (Latics) would get if that was the case.
Rugby town this that and the other.
Great win against Charlton, poor win tonight. Both still 3 points.
Just wish we could get something away from home.
I quite enjoy the arguments on here as usually it means we’ve won :)
My personal two pence worth is that realistically Cook, who I’m a massive fan of BTW,has probably taken us as far as he can do but that is nothing against his ability as a manager.
As a club we have to take gambles on players in order to compete in the top two divisions as we don’t have the money to buy “established” players. In the Prem we were signing nobodies from Honduras for pennies. Some worked, some didn’t. We signed players from Scotland in the same way. Nowadays we sign League 1 players that we hope can step up or Championship players who are possibly too old/injury prone. The fact is that if Jamal Lowe was a top player at this level he wouldn’t be here and similarly if Pilkington wasn’t injury prone he wouldn’t be here either.
Cook has shown that at times we can be superb, but at others (usually away) we can be dreadful. If the powers that be want to get rid then they have to be 100% that they have the man to replace him because as we showed with Coyle, Mackay and Joyce….it isn’t always as simple as sacking the manager.
We are a very small fish in this pond so for me, provided we can continue to be competitive it is tough to get rid.
Well at 2-1 down, I thought fook me I’ll mow the lawn and forget it’s Saturday.
Job done, I check the results and woo hoo we got a draw.
But then I check Sky robbing bastards Sports and see Joe G’s goal and Wow !!!!!!!
What a great debut goal for the Tics !!!!!!
This boy is gold dust !!!!!
Can he be our saviour ?
Will Cookie be brave enough to give him the chance ?He’s got his chance. That’s how he scored. Keep bringing him off the bench for the time being for me.
Off our brilliant production line? When did we last have a lad who came through academy and scored? Must be first player in a decade! Great finish but patience will be key.Flores and Chow about 4 year ago.
We are playing Smith on his own to be fair
Be more interesting to see how many Cook sends out on loan

The 2 fixtures they have missed need to be penalised but I agree with GL and personally am pleased for their loyal fans and the fact that we may one day play them again.
As for Bury, I feel so sorry for their fans. One of my earliest Latics memories is throwing money in buckets and seeing as some of the greatest memories I have in life are Latics related I can’t imagine not having that side to have supported all my life. They must be devastated.
Vat have you got a link for that i cant find it.

Hope this works.[/quote]
Disgraceful and I hope none of them are Latics fans.
As our nearest and dearest rivals and the fixture I most look forward to when it occurs, I hope they survive and that we one day cross paths in the cup/league.
Woah woah woah.
I voted leave for reasons none of which were racist and nor have I abused anyone on social media for being black.
Society is f***** currently and has been for a while but racism has been around for years. Wigan rugby players had bananas thrown at them in the 80s (and 70s tbh) and that was f*** all to do with Brexit.
I’ll wager you £20 that you finish in the bottom half.Hardly an even bet. If you put that on in a bookies you’d probably win £1.50
I know it isn’t the said thing, but I really feel sorry for the Bolton fans, it must be torture for them and all of the people who work directly and indirectly for them. Bury looking like the end of the road this week for them, again feel for them. We have been lucky with ownership for a long time , whether u liked whelan or not he left us in a much better position than when he took over and whilst the new lot are silent, they have invested this summer. Thanks for small mercies on the own ship front. Back to Bolton, they must get another deduction and will pull off a miracle if they aren’t relegated, that’s if they survive financially. Atherton collieries offered Bolton fans free entrance last night, don’t know how many turned up.Agree. I’ve said many times that I don’t want them to go bust
