Yosser, although the side you have chosen is good, it’s not likely to happen. After January I would like our team to look like this:
GK: Al Habsi (Made permanent, I think it will happen. Bolton want to sign Wheater and our deal could help them raise funds.)
RB: Boyce
CB: Alcaraz
CB: Woodgate (Loan signing for the remainder of the season)
LB: Figeuroa
DM:Thomas
CM: McCarthy
RM: N’Zogbia
LM: Moses
AM: Cleverley
ST: RodallegaAs for Caicedo, he is average at best, he’s a big lad but not the kind of player I would want us to sign. I think we should look to sign a couple of the Espanyol team who we have been linked with. Callejon is a good player, He can play as a striker or just off the front man.
Silly post, but how much sense would it make.
Whelan and Martinez need to somehow get the fans back on side and behind the team. He could do a fantastic job of sitting in the middle of the park and picking out pass after pass. He would get the crowds up, he would bring new found optimism to the club and give some of the younger players tips on technique. Not for one minute do I think it will happen and I know I am going to take stick for this but as Bob has said he would benefit any club in the premier league. Obviously it would never happen.
As for the comment on Scholes, I think he is one of the most underrated players of my generation at least, what a fantastic player.
Being a selfish Wiganer, I hope he doesn’t get a chance and moves permanently to the DW. But I think he will make it. My problem is where exactly should his main position be? I generally think just off the striker, but when you see the crosses he puts into the area, I feel like he could be an out and out winger.
2 Games? I’l predict 3 on the bounce. We went to Wolves missing major players in our team a makeshift midfield, I think i’m majorly over confident but hey its christmas!
No one is asking for someone to be a superfan but just to quite simply be a supporter which you claim to be and at least make the same effort to get to the ground as people who come on here and slate Martinez, the team.
If you can’t be bothered turning up, then how can you have a go at the players or the manager for that matter.
Really gets on my nerves, ‘fans’ that don’t turn up and quite happily say I don’t turn up because of the team, of the tactics etc. You are a supporter and your role is to support the team! I’m sure if we had made it to a cup final you would be there.Team likely to be:
Al Habsi
Gouhouri G Caldwell Alcaraz Figeuroa
Diame Thomas
Gomez
Cleverley N’Zogbia
BoselliTeam I hope he could pick is:
Al Habsi
Stam Gouhouri Alcaraz Figueroa
Cleverley Thomas Diame N’Zogbia
McManamman (if Di Santo is not fit) BoselliAgree N’Zogbia on his day is a great player, but at West Ham he never beat his man once, passes where going astray and looked like a total lack of effort from my point of view.
We will miss him but much prefer someone who will work the line aswell as being good going forward. Not an answer to your question unfortunately Griff, but from Euston station, which is the best underground station to go to to get to the Emirates?
Not fans because when we have a loss we don’t jump on the Martinez out bandwagon… what will be the reaction if we win on tuesday?
Agree with that James, the amount of articles on here that have not looked at the performance but seen the scoreline and straight away jump on the Martinez out bandwagon. Only the other week we were going in the right direction according to these idiots.
Don’t think this could be true, at least I hope it isn’t.
Evra was Stam’s man and he was at fault for their goal with the poor marking of Stam I think, Could be wrong not seen the highlights but at the time I thought that was the case.
Agree Sephton about Alcaraz being more important than Hugo, but I think we need him in the team as he brings some sort of goal threat.I haven’t seen it on tv but from what I saw is it looked like Nani tried to push Figeuroa into the ball got annoyed and tried to throw him to the floor when it went out, Atkinson just bottled making a decision. From where I was sat I thought the foul on N’Zogbia was in the area but obviously from what I have read he was outside the area, but he was giving it in front of the Stretford End was he.
The Hugo sending off looked like a good tackle what I saw and looked like he got the ball but Alcaraz was stupid I knew he was going to do it when he charged over but did he actually make contact with fletcher? From what I’ve read he didn’t so i’m not so sure.
Lots of small decisions went against us during the game and we definately didn’t get the rub of the green. As for progress I feared the worst after the two red cards but we did well to keep it to 2 nil. I think the midfield was on top of theirs up until the red cards and Diame and Thomas were both outstanding. We looked dangerous through N’Zogbia on the break but if Moses would have started I believe we would have caused them a lot more problems.
Were moving in the right direction and played some good stuff. Teams of old would have crumbled but I thought we played well and did not let us down one bit apart from Hugo and Alcaraz.Agree with that Griff, bit more fight in Cleverley aswell, looks really annoyed with himself when he loses possession.
Totally off topic but what would you say is our best backline with a fully fit squad.
Stam/Boyce Gohouri Alcaraz Figeuroa
Unsure on the right hand side of our defence. Stam offers more going forward but Boyce I think is the better defender. Probably say Stam, just because our two deep lying defensive mifdielders do cover the gap left at the back from Stam.
To the tune of heartbeat
“Victor, Oh Victor Moses is running down the wing, der der der” etc -
