I think if we play a frontline of
Rodallega
N,Zogbia Cleverley MosesWe will definately have goals in us. I think, all 3 behind Rodallega are good at getting forward and will score goals. Cleverley as his name suggests has a clever footballing brain, and before he joined us he had been dubbed a new paul scholes. Sometimes we may need the second striker with abit of height which Hugo lacks, but when he plays down the middle he gets amongst the strikers and puts in a real effort, which I must say he sometimes lacked out wide on the left. All the attackers have bags of talent and I think after a few games playing together we will start to see a few more goals being scored.
Quick special mention for Moses at the weekend, hes not as tricky a player as N,Zogbia but he is improving. His final ball I think is slightly better than N’Zogbia’s and he looks as though he just loves getting on the pitch and giving his all for our club.Don’t be mistaken we shouldn’t be as low as we are at the moment, take away the Blackpool and Chelsea games and our defence has looked strong aswell.
Yeh, we must have fans to fill our allocation because when we got to the final a few years ago we filled our allocation which should fill our stadium. I’m sure since then we have got more people following Wigan. As said countless times I don’t think the advertisements are that effective, but it was good to see near McDonalds we have a big billboard containing the offers for the games over Christmas. I just think schools around Wigan, Ashton, Leigh, St Helens should all get free tickets and fill the South stand. Be good for the club to maybe offer a chance for kids to go to the games without their mums and dads, maybe by getting trips with schools with their teachers. Not all parents want to shell out money to take their kids to games.
I just think that more free tickets should go out to a wider range of schools for the south stand. I think the club should perhaps pursue a campaign which targets benefits for season ticket holders getting more people to the games.
EG. You can bring a mate for say £15 quid if you bring 2 mates they get two tickets for £20.My family are not football fans but i’ve taken my dad to watch the games and he has always enjoyed them, and now regularly gets to the games.
One final offer could be to get tickets for certain games like for united liverpool chelsea and arsenal £70 or something like that.
Last Night we were very very good, the movement was good (after the first 20 mins), the build to our play was brilliant to watch. One particular moment with N’Zogbia and Stam down the right hand side was exceptional and Diame was close to scoring.
We looked solid in the middle of the park, and we looked dangerous everytime we got the ball. The way the team dug in after losing the early goal was pleasing to see teams of the past would have folded. The passion from the players was also fantastic, especially the midfield 2 of diame and Thomas.
It says something when I expected us to nick a winner at the end against Liverpool and how we totally over ran them. The real test is on Saturday and 3 points are necessary but like I said in a post yesterday, the football in my opinion is NOT boring, and we are unlucky to not be higher in the league.Agree completely, we will come good I know it. With a couple of decisions and a bit of luck as Martinez has said we could easily be in the top half of the league.
I actually think we will get something from tonights game and against West Brom and this time next week all the negative comments will vanish.
Fair point, I can’t say it is a fact. But, everyone must see (with the exception of these idiots) that the football is more pleasing to watch.
I like our style of play, much rather watch us keep the ball and control the pace of a game rather than play the percentages with a long ball forward with players gambling on a centre forward winning the ball. Our overall play is more exciting than under Steve Bruce which is a fact. We have technically good footballers and I admire the way we play, as do a lot of other latics fans.
LMB why comment on a thread which says get behind the team and the town when all you are going to do is put something negative? Its like you crave attention, a lot like Bickymon.
Forget this clown and get behind the players, manager and club. Last season when we needed a win against one of the ‘big’ teams we stepped up to the plate.
U going with Stu Zog?
Hard to ignore because when we play well they are silent, not even a whisper from them and when we play badly they come on the site and start to bad mouth the manager, team and so on.
Granted we were bad but where are they when we have a decent result? I respect peoples opinions on here, but when someone only ever posts negative comments i’m sorry I can’t take them seriously.Fair point but because i’m at Uni and sometimes have to work when we play away I target away games to get to and this was one I can make. Wish I would have swapped the week for this weekend at Blackburn but the mrs bought us tickets to London for my birthday, which could quite easily have been changed for the weekend just gone, but women are clever and she knows if she had we would have been at craven cottage on saturday.
For a ground so close to us I can’t see many paying that price and going but its one of the away games I can make so thats why I will be going.
Will be doing I think mate you going ?
I unfortunately know James C… from what he said to me yesterday he is grim!
Didn’t Fulham used to have crowds not as low as ours but quite low around18,000 average? I think once we start winning a few games, if we can maybe get to the final of a cup competition people will come out to watch us.
He seems to me to move faster with the ball than when he doesnt have it. He knows how to retain the ball and particularly against Bolton and Wolves he played some class passes opening up the defence.
I would like to see at home our forward line being:Di Santo
Rodallega N’Zogbia
GomezThought we would have had a decent turnout tonight, but with the south stand still being closed and the unreserved seating in the east stand, the tickets sales must not have been that good.
Got a feeling this could be a great night of football, people have been saying they want a run in the cup at the fans forum and on this message board last season and when we do have a decent run, no one turns up. People forget we will be in the quarter final if we win tonight.
If you haven’t got a ticket, get down to the ground and buy tonight on the door!
