So OTTER you think we played well last night ??
We didn’t , I’m sorry you disagree but we didn’t!
Thank chuff they didn’t have an extra two mins injury time , because we would have been talking about a defeat now.
I thought we played far better at Bristol and Derby and as for our ineffective strikers , created some chances yes but means nothing unless you actually convert them.
How many did they take and have taken this season ?????
2 away wins since may 2018 is abysmal away form and I’m sorry I’m
As positive as the next man and in my 41st year watching Latics but the performances of late and for some time really are unacceptable
for a Wigan Athletic team in my opinion.
He talks about taking small steps well you cannot take small steps in this division anymore , we are nearly half way through the bloody season and heading for the bottom three on this form !!!
When does the reality kick in FFS ??

One thing Cook seems to have is his share of luck and no doubt he will pull a win from the hat on saturday to buy more time and silence the doubters again.
The performance by Latics last night was not the best but again they were met with an indifferent side who were taking us very lightly and 3 points should have been won in my opinion.
        same old story.
The attitude of the players near the end was appalling as they seemed to be accepting a late goal would go in and had no intentions of pushing forward to grab a goal of our own.
massive faults in this current Latics team , arguably one of the worst of the past 20 seasons in my view.

The Reading game now as a fateful look to it if you ask me.
I’m expecting nothing ( as usual )in London on Tuesday but the pressure surely must be on now.
I sense a complete lack of desire and belief from this Wigan Athletic team who have chucked away so many points in the last month particularly late on!
That is what it comes down to, desire , believing , maybe even fitness levels , and the mistakes come from all of that.
A very big week for him I am afraid , 2 big results needed , no excuses , no bad luck stories , it really is do or die now .

Biggest fault overall with Cooks teams is the rubbish away form which is now unacceptable and cannot continue.
My own take on this is a lack of intensity and belief when embarking on an away fixture almost like a passive acceptance and it is now well beyond a blip or bad luck in my view.
A good example was the Bristol City game when a seemingly rare away win was snatched away as a result of conceding a late corner which resulted from sloppy bad decision defending.
Last season it was do or die at high flying Leeds United and we all know what happened , we gained an incredible result.
The Stoke game is starting to look similar to the above one in my opinion and it will be interesting to see how that one goes.

I am as annoyed and frustrated as anyone but looking back nearly 24 hours later is it not just that we were simply outclassed by a far better side?
Whatever level of intensity we played at the fact remains, Brentford ( club size irrelevant) were simply far too good for us.
He could have played any combination yesterday and we would still have had a hiding it’s as simple as that.
That said he still has to sort it out and it’s no use wasting millions of pounds paying him and his staff off , we have been here before and suffered abject failure as a result.
He has two weeks to look at the squad and deal with the faults in his team of which there are too many to get into here .
I still think it is wrong to get rid of him at this points and for me he stays here and sorts out the many problems with his team and his selection policy.
That is what he gets paid for and he has vast experience within the club( Reid and Royle) but the pressure is very much on for him with the next two away games and he needs a win at one of those at least.
Anything less than that and The fat lady may well start clearing her breath regardless .

Oops forgot about Caldwell but he was relatively successful before his sudden departure.
That season ended well didn’t it???
My opinion on Cook is he is good coach and gets the best out of what he has. He gets questioned about his selections but are any of his critics at training every day witnessing the reasons for his team selections.
My own view is that his team is improving and he is also bringing some of the youth team through but he does well on a limited budget.

Cook would have been potted long ago so i cannot understand the constant ‘Cook out’ posts after away defeats.
So far he has achieved a brilliant stylish promotion from a very tough league 1 and also maintained the clubs status in the championship and his home form is amongst the best in the division.
No ex Latics player has ever been potted as manager bar Barrow (unfairly in my opinion) in 1995 and our most successful managers since the entry to the football league in 1978 have been ex Latics players havent they?
More positive times to come in my opinion

Considering they almost nicked it at the death i would say that was a good point especially after going behind against a very good team.
More positives if you ask me and a growing belief within the team that was lacking last year.

Moore’s hold and link up play was superb today and he was the catalyst for most of the attacks.
His touch is very good and he brings others into play with his clever link up work and I can see why he is an ever present.
On the positive it’s 4 points from 3 games I expected zilch from and it could have been much better but as I said before we sort of expect late equalisers and late winners away.

The sitter would have killed it but we should expect it now .
Good performance but we really should have won it and yet more points thrown away!

Surely the powers that be should sit him down and demand answers about this dreadful away run.
It is much more than a blip and bad luck and changes are needed to sort it out.
Players are slacking and drifting away from
The pressure of the DW and the very demanding Latics supporters. They need to have a look at themselves !!!
Sacking him isn’t the answer given that we have been relegated in the seasons we did just that.

Watched it back this morning and so annoyed that they basically gave the Derby bloke a free pop at goal like kids playing ‘three and in ‘ !!Three of our players basically stood right beside him and waved him through while he hit his ‘free ‘ shot at goal to give Derby the points!!!
Poor basic defending again and that little snippet of play tells us so much about our lack of desire away from home and the inability to see games out when not faced with the pressure of the home supporters. No coincidence in my view just a lack of desire across the park and an acceptance of our fate.
No quality up whatsoever up top and players of genuine forward quality are left on the bench while the selected forwards lumber about the place missing sitters.
Beyond the joke and very very annoying but easily solved with correct team selection and tactics.
Was so positive after sunday but back to normal we go :(

Shocking as Derby were fooking awful there but lacked quality up front again.
