Brilliant idea that is very popular in europe proving that supporters have real power at influencing results with this kind of thing.
The club is completely behind its supporters and i have a very strong feeling this could be a season as good as the first one in the prem. His vollied goal at Anfield is one of the best i have ever seen.
Shame it went wrong he was awesome during that first half of the 2008-9 season.Great guy but he seems to have spawned scores of fat t@@ts cluttering up the roads on their push rods!
Reminds me of the tennis court clutter when wimbledon is on.I thought training only started early march and lasted until may.
Bright start for Latics……………for about 10 minutes!
Looks like a another tough season after that today.Hes earning b@ll all at the moment with currently no takers so Dave could offer him a grand a week with bonuses for wins, goals etc.
A week to week contract why not?
i still think he has another season or two left in him and im not joking about him playing in defence!
Would be a good signing.Id sign him as a squad player
The fact that it is all over the sport bereft BBC says it all doesnt it? The only thing i have watched so far is that tin pot football tournament-the worst game of football i have EVER seen TEAM GB on thursday.I also saw two blokes dive off some boards today that reminded me of the old Wigan baths ones.
That said at least it gives some facilities and brings some money in to our floundering economy. It may also encourage some unfit kids to have a go at sport. My main gripe is the fact that professionals are allowed to take part i always thought it was meant to be for amateurs.Only two and a half weeks to the Chelsea game and it cant come soon enough.
The David Eyres goal is probably the best i have seen.Low cross from the right at the town end and the best volley i have ever seen at any level of the game.
Seem to remember a little bit of bother after that goal from some PNE ‘infiltrators’ :angry:We are now in 2012,not 2007, as i said are you for real, best place for heskey is at home with his slippers on counting his money :P :woohoo:nearly 40 years of watching live football gives me some kind of place im sure ;)
He is all you say mate and more besides in my opinion but this is his last chance believe me!
Reality check and being amongst lads earning peanuts in comparison to him will do him good(hopefully).
Lets hope they give him no mercy in training!centre half, are you for real ;) :woohoo:Best place for him-watch a rerun of the said game.It used to happen in the past when a striker was burned out -they would simply put him at the back till his legs packed up.
Mick Lyons of Everton and Kenny Burns at Nottingham Forest are two who spring to mind -many many more im sure!
He may be good cover at centre half-seem to remember he gave his best ever Latics performance in defence at Sheff utd in that game in may 2007.
At least he has apologised and it may humble him playing with lads who probably dont earn in 2 years what he gets in a week.He is getting old(for a footballer) and he needs to remember that his remaining 3 years may well be his last big contract.
The game is changing and is starting to shed its aged 29 plus players with few clubs willing to pay big wages over 3 or 4 years.
A turn for the better if you ask me. -
