The David Eyres goal is probably the best i have seen.Low cross from the right at the town end and the best volley i have ever seen at any level of the game.
Seem to remember a little bit of bother after that goal from some PNE ‘infiltrators’ :angry:We are now in 2012,not 2007, as i said are you for real, best place for heskey is at home with his slippers on counting his money :P :woohoo:nearly 40 years of watching live football gives me some kind of place im sure ;)
He is all you say mate and more besides in my opinion but this is his last chance believe me!
Reality check and being amongst lads earning peanuts in comparison to him will do him good(hopefully).
Lets hope they give him no mercy in training!centre half, are you for real ;) :woohoo:Best place for him-watch a rerun of the said game.It used to happen in the past when a striker was burned out -they would simply put him at the back till his legs packed up.
Mick Lyons of Everton and Kenny Burns at Nottingham Forest are two who spring to mind -many many more im sure!
He may be good cover at centre half-seem to remember he gave his best ever Latics performance in defence at Sheff utd in that game in may 2007.
At least he has apologised and it may humble him playing with lads who probably dont earn in 2 years what he gets in a week.He is getting old(for a footballer) and he needs to remember that his remaining 3 years may well be his last big contract.
The game is changing and is starting to shed its aged 29 plus players with few clubs willing to pay big wages over 3 or 4 years.
A turn for the better if you ask me.I think he is worth a stab but only on loan and with an option to get shut in january if he fails to do the business.
We have tried these journeymen types before though havent we ?Mido and Bent spring to mind.
feck me, how long was that season?fERKING too long bloody awful- but i still have that game on my skyplus and get goosebumps every time i see it.
Conors goal is pure class!Still worth a bit more time in my view and i can see some goals from him next season.
He deserves that because his goal against West Ham in 2010-12 turned that game and went some way to keeping the club up that season. We will miss him(Whelan) when he’s gone thats for sure!
Whelan is spot on and i hope this will make Moses see sense and realise that a move now could be disastrous for his career at this moment in time.
Its either that or he wants to conclude the business as soon as possible so the club can get his replacement in with the money received.
I cant see Moses staying but it annoys when players think they can tear up contracts at the drop of a hat then get @rsey when the move is stalled by rightful transfer fee demands.
This matter needs to be quickly settled because the club needs to get the players it needs in as soon as possible. He was my sons hero when he was growing up and i remember telling my then 12 year old that Owen (as we watched him stumble and struggle during a Sven era England game against naff opposition) was overpaid, very limited and very overated.
You cant imagine my shock as my lad got up from his chair and gave me some fearful abuse and the stormed off to his room slamming the door as hard as he could.
That was well over 10 years ago and i feel now he is only worth a pay as you play and a bonus scheme for goals return.
A grand a game with big bonuses if he scored 10 goals plus is all he is worth in my view but somehow i think his career may be coming to an end -i think he lost his hunger years ago!
I would sooner see some young lad from the lower divisions given a chance than Owen! The scuffed goal at Tottenham lives in the memory and the rising headers against Burnley and Stoke. If he has secured big wages good luck to him!
Fixture card with season ticket and offers on a variety of things if you are a season ticket holder.
Renewed the ST online and wasnt charged(surely the first time???)for using my Visa card. This saved me time rather than having to queue behind fat effers buying tickets for the ‘town’ sport and keeping my hands in the pockets (tightly)when they made their ridiculous digs at a club that beat them for size many years ago! -
