Such a shame isnt it. Their board were singing his praises and laughing at us last week. Let’s see how they fare today

”Moses isn’t a one-trick pony, he’s a show pony; he has all the tricks and flicks that make him look a blinder on Match Or The Day, but for every bit of brilliance he shows, there are another half dozen times that he elects to dribble and loses the ball instead of passing, or he ambles back, uninterested, allowing his opposite number free rein.”

Exactly – I hadn’t been able to put it into words, but that’s it.

MAtch of the Day (unless it’s Alan Hansen lamenting someone’s poor defence) only focusses on the positives – what someone does. It doesn’t zoom the camera in on him walking slowly around, or not putting a jog on to try and get the ball in midfield.

We, who can see the whole of the pitch, week in week out, can see that. And get frustrated by it. Good luck to him. I believe Chelsea reserves are in the new Elite Development League. He’ll develop well there. Perhaps.

Retired Fan has used Match Of The day as a yard stick for years. I latched onto it a few years ago. Every player the media portrays as (world class) is portrayed the same by the flock of sheep fans who don ‘t really know anything. Just like all the United fans saying how Kagawa was such a good signing when i bet 90% had never seen him play. The list of players like that is endless. I will use Charlie Adam as a marker. I saw all the media hype around him when he was being linked away last year and all of a sudden he was on the ball all the time on Match Of The Day coverage, scoring free kicks and pundits praising him. I then watched 3 live Blackpool games after that and all that time on the ball on Match Of The Day was the actual amount of time he had on the ball the whole games practically. Yes he scored some good free kicks but i can name 10 players off the top of my head who had a good free kick but were crap players. Got his move anyway and the media moved on to someone else, Now he is being touted away from Anfield, Like so many ‘BIG’ players before him.

Spat my cup of tea when i read the Heather Trott bit.

Sometimes see him on other boards but i don’t think he has been here since rivals.net

Matt Phillips would rub it in Southampton’s noses.

There was one particular post on here from a twitter source that said, Miyachi, Ramis and Thomas Ince. 2/3 so far. I wonder…….

Personally i don’t think we will be in the market for another winger.

in reply to: Moses Gone #91979

Finally, What a great deal, Ramis, Kone and Miyachi are virtually free transfers now, Haha thanks Chelsea. Moses is a mug and so are Chelsea. Wave goodbye to your career Victor, See you back at Palace in a few years in the cup.

I would say good luck but the way him and his agent have conducted themselves over the summer doesn’t warrant it. Another big money sale courtesy of the hardest nosed chairman in the land. He never ever get’s done goodpost goodpost

I miss that sense of ownership that you get from being a fan. Nowadays, with the premierleague, we seem to turn up and go home and no-one bothers. it never used to feel like that. cant put my finger on it, but something just isnt right with the game today.

I would say that the disappearance of terraces is to blame for that personally.

I was stood next to Paul Jewell that day – he was livid.

Are you Chris Hutchings really George ;) ;) ;) ;)

I had a soft spot for JK, I think the crowd getting on his back effected his confidence but he did have the ability to be a lot better.

Good post mate, appreciate the input!

I always thought Jeff Kenna was okay, Myself

And what positions did Ian Brady and Ian Huntly play. Was Huntly a sweeper

I think it is in the building stages, I’m guessing it will be available for next season. I reckon it is another Setanta or ESPN. Although where it leaves ESPN is another mystery without being bothered to research it.

I’ll be very disappointed if Ramis is dropped.

I have high hopes for him and Kone this season.

Although he had a shocker he won’t learn unless given a run of games, That is our problem sometimes, It takes an age to bed players in. Playing him against Chelsea and leaving him out of the easier games is a little unfair and he probably thinks he is hard done by.

BTW, I would have Moses nowhere near the team, Just get rid. Take 7m if needs be. Arsenal fans think Miyachi is better than Walcott and i would have Walcott first on the team sheet if he was here.

in reply to: Hendry Thomas in the USA #91862

In all honesty, I think he was the most average player ever to pull on our shirt. Certainly in the Premiership years.

I don’t think any ‘average Joe’ out of the stands could’ve done less or worse, if they were given matching fitness levels. Seriously. I’ve thought that for a while. He was pinching money, here.

TBH I can think of alot worse ABL.

Before any of them joined the Latics Thomas was widely thought of as the most talented player out of Himself, Figs and Palacios also being being captain of the Honduras national team.

While the latter two went on to play regularly for their respective teams I dont think Thomas ever really got the chance to do well under Roberto.

I always saw him as an engine room holding midfielder in a standard 4-4-2 and would probably do a good job for the likes of Bruce.
Just had a skim through past player on the wiki page..

In alphabetic order:

Agahowa
Bouaouzan ( never made an appearance? )
De Ridder
Connolly
Folan
Krapo
King
Scotland
Webster

Its a dull day in the office…
Only Kapo, King and Scotland were given a chance out of that lot, But for me Thomas is worse by a long, long way

in reply to: Lee McCulloch #91829

Owd Lee McCulloch, It became evident quite quickly that he was far too good for Division 2 and the higher up the leagues we got the better he became. What sticks out in my mind are two things. Kick off’s, Booting it straight up to Lee on the left hand side every match and him winning it 90% of the time. And 2, THAT Reading match at the end of the 2005 season.
