Missing the point. Who cares about a midfielder banging a few penalties in. That doesn’t make him worthy of a deal. If that is the case i might ask for a deal, I can rattle the net from the spot.
Im talking about his play in general. You know im right, Im not angling for an argument and it’s my last word on the subject. All i do these days is just jump in occasionally with a view. So there is mine.

Not sure why this post exists to be honest. I am a peed off as anyone with the last 3 years but Saturday’s result is the greatest in our history, On par with Arsenal away in the cup semi’s. Sure not in terms of what is at stake, A la West Ham, Stoke, Arsenal 3-2 and Chelsea. 3 of them were home games and you always kind of give yourself a half chance at home (unless Man Utd arrive :silly: :( ) The result in terms of who it was and where it was another significant scalp in our history. It is another example of who we are and where we are. It goes all the way back to the old div 3(for me anyway) Beating big spending Fulham on our way to the div 3 title. Beating Bristol City away in div 2, (The woefully bad Peter Kennedy with a free kick.) on our way to the title. Beating Leeds and Ipswich away on our way to promotion from div 1 (championship).

The result against Liverpool was just as important and it ends the hoodoo and should in effect instill tonnes of confidence in our team. Shaun Maloney would have probably got us an extra 10 points if played more. I think he has been exceptional. As Griff says though, Doing that against Liverfool and getting nothing out of Stoke would just plump us firmly back to square one after other results around us.

All in all though, This thread is irrelevant, Superb performance beating world renound Liverpool in their own back yard and after a performance and result like that, Martinez has the right to say what he likes for me. In fact i think there is only Kenny Dalglish in the whole country who thinks they were unlucky.

I said Kevin Phillips at the beginning of the season and not one person agreed with me. I was shot down in flames. I’m the only one who called KP

It’s shocking, It happens more and more these days. Players are super fit and the strain on the weakest hearts keeps being exposed, Puerta, Feher, O’Donnell just off the top of my head in recent years but there are more. You can’t help but fear the worst after an alleged 20 mins without breathing. You have to consider serious brain damage if he has been brought back round.

Think everyone in the country is hoping he pulls through, Thoughts and prayers with him.

All the signs unfortunately are pointing the other way.

Oh and you have to pretend you are a toff to watch it.

I shall be watching the egg chasing tomorrow. The proper kind with 15 a side.

Only missed a handful of our games this season, but that includes all four wins, so it’s nailed on we’ll get three points.

Ah the proper one. The one where no tries are scored, Teams just kick to each other and involves no fitness or tactics. Not to mention the fact they just walk into each other and pretend it’s a tackle then just hug each other for 5 mins. If you think that is more entertaining than RL you are insane. Big soft very overweight fattie forwards grabbing each others balls in a scrum. By far the most boring game in the history of sport.

    Maloney in for McCarthy
    Diame for McArthur
    Stam for Boyce

Those 3 changes would probably see us safe. Knowing Martinez though he will probably bring in Kirkland,Thomas and Gohouri.

Would like to see Crusat involved somewhere too. Maybe a second half player.

On another note. Dicko looks like a real handful of a player at Blackpool. If we go down then Blackpool could have inadvertently got our two Championship strikers ready for us.

Don’t patronize me. I have supported both all my life and will continue to do so. When the Warriors were doing crap at least they were trying to do something about it. The Latics have given up and our chairman wants to either go down or finish 17th. Not acceptable, If we go down we deserve to go down again for the naivety of Whelan.

Depends on your definition of designer, I don’t wear Armani e.t.c if thats what you mean.

Im a lager man, Sometimes have a real ale depending where i am.

    I don’t sing unless i have had a drink

Yes i cheer when a try is scored. Thats the whole point

My replica top is filled with my upper body core, I don’t need anything underneath to make me look stocky.

I must be victorian then me, The only modern sport in the world is football. Funny how you say that but to me it’s the only sport in the world that is going backwards.

Im done with this forum, Too many little kids acting the big man.

So immature you. People have reasons as to why they don’t go, Im 26 started going in 1993 and from about 1996 onwards i very rarely missed a game and probably went to quarter of aways in a season, Not just the north-west ones. It’s funny when you look at it. I loved every minute of getting to the Premiership, No doubt. Now we are here though and there is no ambition any more and no prospect of wanting to finish up the table its now boring. Obviously we cant get promoted any more and all our owner wants us to do is scrape 17th position expecting people to just accept it. That doesn’t appeal to me, I can get excitement watching or playing football on the amateur pitches for £250 less the cost. I don’t think a return of 2 or 3 home wins is worth £250. The love of football has gone now and it’s just an interest these days or something to watch in the pub. Funny how i must have paid thousands in the past to watch lower league football but now we are in the supposedly best league in the world i don’t find it fun or enjoyable any more.

Don’t spout to people like me zoggy, james, whoever you are. I have paid my way to watch good and crap, paid to go to the cup games when we wanted them. But now the club has given up wanting to win so have i.

Suppose you could say im a glory hunter but in reverse.

yosser, you clearly ARE a glory hunter
you managed to go to games from 1996 onwards when things were more or less continuously on the up and we were involved in a promotion battle every season
now we don’t win more than we lose (which is obviously less fun and less enjoyable than it used to be) you refuse to go
it’s your money and it’s up to you whether you go or not but please don’t profess to still being a supporter when you quite clearly are not[/quote]

What a cretin, Im clearly NOT though am i, I cant help when i was born can i, And it was 93 not 96, 3 years before we went up. I never supported Man Utd, Liverpool etc, I chose Wigan, I still support them, Doesn’t mean i have to go, Im not happy with things and don’t get value for money so i wont go. I support my sister in her job but i don’t have to be there while she does it. I support Judd Trump in snooker but i don’t go cheering him on, I support getting foreigners out of this country who shouldn’t be here but i don’t throw them into the sea.

I don’t care what you think anyway, Rugby starts in a few weeks anyway, Bring it on, Cant bloody wait.

Sigh, Trust me, What i wrote was a very honest couple of paragraphs. No fiction in there. When i started going my auntie used to take me, I lived on Springfield Road then and before that i used to sit in my living room with my window open on match days watching BBC Teletext waiting to hear a roar from over the road, Then i used to go barmy around my room. I remember doing once it and legging it up stairs only to see Wigan 0-1 Preston on my ceefax when i got back :(

When i was about 11 me and a couple of mates discovered about 4 sneaking in places at Springfield Park, Was only ever caught once in about 2 years, And still they let us in. It was either that or when they had stewards covering our usual places we would stand in the trees at the away end. Got to 13 and i had 2 paper rounds, That gave me my entry money. When i was 14 i got a job standing on first avenue like a pleb selling golden ball tickets, and carried that on into the new stadium, I sold golden gamble for flash gordon too :P :P :P

    Thats how i went pre-earning

oh and in 93 i would be 8 or 9 depending on the time of season
