England’s finest has had a good Xmas period /last month or so …

b@llocked by his manager in 2-3 derby defeat (RVP winner); copped for another howler yesterday. Lost count the number of goals he’s given away to his LHS this season.

Can probably thank his luck stars he doesn’t play in an error-prone defensive back-line for Latics. Would really test his mettle ! Bring down his confidence (arrogance?) a peg or two.

‘Joe Hart’s form is costing Manchester City dear’

We have had some bad calls recently but yesterdays was the worst for me.

Clear view and doesn’t think thats a pen – how?

Its not just us though some even worse calls, Zabaletta, Rob Greens OG!!

Difference is the lesser clubs need to get the calls thats why we notice them more, whereas the bigger clubs generally win regardless, as United did despite there belief of a bad call for Newcastles goal.

Fergies verbal assault was a disgrace btw which will no doubt mean he gets all the calls on NYD as refs fear his power.

MOTD : City / Reading: Pundit asked whether City would have been awarded the free kick, had the roles been reversed and Barry impended by Reading player scoring lasst minute winner. Answer: probably. Says it all really.

Ferguson: Could not agree more.

Martinez gets fine for saying that Latics have mountain to climb every time they come to Latics (endless pens, sending-offs on which to base comments ..)

Ferguson playing ‘mind games’ with ref and assistant and at start of second-half to yesterday’s game, complaining about Evans OG (scored in 1st half). Carrying on in true form after his barraging of the ref at Swansea on Saturday (wonder when Mr Oliver is next up at Old Trafford and the guaranteed ‘oh no, not Mr Oliver’ BEFORE the game)

If anyone warrant’s a fine, then its him. Disgraceful antics. About time that the powers that be came down on him. Makes yer

Whenever anyone comes on here criticising whelan point them in the direction of those crazy chicken farmers

not forgetting, by way of example :

– Fernandez: QPR – Warnock /Hughes /(Redknapp))
– Ambramovich: Chelski (too many to mention ….)
– Kuwaiti family : N Forest – S O’Driscoll (yesterday)

Common theme ??

Owners, who know fook all about football (or responsible financial management)

Frank can you put a piece together with all this seasons shit refereeing decisions and send it to the fookers in charge!!!

just to help frank (list not exhaustive) …

Manure A – Welbeck pen (missed), Welbeck on Di Santo (last min)
Arsenal H – Wigan pen appeals (2),Walcott pen
Swansea A – Kone disallowed
Sunland A – Gomez send-off (rescinded)
Newcastle A – Figeueroa send-off, Ba pen.
Everton A – Maloney pen

practically 1 in 3, …

add in a good few defensive ‘lapses in concentration’ (Ramis – Chelsea, Swansea, Boyce – Norwich etc.), and one or missed gilt-edged openings (Kone – City, Arsenal), and therein lies our season to date ….

:(

Fingers crossed for a better run, early 2013

Exactly the same as this time last year same place same points tally.
Progress ???

We had this discussion about 9/10 games back. Basically like for like on points, inferior goal difference (worse on points for same teams played) at the time.

Someone made the point at the time we lost 8 on the bounce last season; we ain’t done too clever points-wise recently.

To my mind at the time, a worse start given the form back end of last season, greater experience and close-season investment in squad.

Unfortunately, points (not performances) make prizes and we’ve contributed to our own downfall on a number of occasions this year, with a little assistance from the referees along the way.

As Lawro’ said only today, Wigan may not get relegated, but at the moment one of the three worst teams in the PL. On current form, spot on (for once …)

Here’s hoping that somehow fortunate likes kindly upon us at one of our favourite stomping grounds, Villa Park (‘heart not head’).

Ole miserable SAF will not want to be undone by the mighty Latics this season as he was last (key to his team’s title charge going t1ts up)

When FFS is Alcaraz back (if at all …) ??

Do rats actually run up drain pipes?
Do they do it on a regular basis and at what speed?

Maybe I should write to MythBusters and ask the question.
While you’re onto them, please could you also enquire what exactly is a tramp like on a kipper, and who is the famous soft Mick with his various excesses?
The scholes / rooney incidents were nothing more than hand bags at five paces rather than life threatening challenges. :

The Rooney one was diabolical, premeditated assault, nothing less.
A red card and a lengthy ban should have followed.

Keane on hangelaand was also a career threatening challenge (did he ever recover from that?)

And scholes has made a career out of silly reckless challenges

It’s all in the game and what goes around comes around, what i take issue with is fergie calling for a lengthy ban, which is no better than holding up an imaginary card, something he has rightly condemned in the past, people in glass houses and all that.

And to over exaggerate by saying van persie could have been killed, well that’s just laughable, he’d be the first I’ve heard of to be killed by a football, and again, what goes round comes round, he’s hardly been a saint has he, I think Williams should have gone for the face off the rebound, give him something to really moan about!
would have had one less to worry about on New Years Day also.

Pity really …

Mr RVP, that good old sportsman who shakers Caldwell (not) by the hand, when his team have just been done at the Emirates

Happy when they’re winning (RVP, Fergie etc), miserable tw2ts when they’re not.

Sorry guys but two wrongs don’t make a right. Fergie did not try to defend Cantona after his kung foo kick on that fan, so why make the comparison?
The scholes / rooney incidents were nothing more than hand bags at five paces rather than life threatening challenges. OK they should have been punished with red cards but that’s all.
I can’t believe you are trying to make this incident seem like run of the mill stuff just because you don’t like united or Fergie.
Williams is a fantastic player, wish we had him, but doing that to your fellow professional is in-excusable, get the fekker banned for the rest[/b of the season.

a tad excessive. our Mr RVP, no saint either, was up and on his feet, quicker than a rat up a drain pipe.

Just a few points,Fergie should get his own house in order, the rooney assault on McCarthy before going off on one about other teams players, what about the spanish lad who legged RVP up as he went to confront the player. I agree it was shocking and needs dealing with. Bobby,Bobby,Bobby dont get involved in this spat and consentrate on our own club

Fergie throwing stones from the greenhouse ….

Cantona, Keane, Scholes, ….

On the matter of spats, it always amuses me when I see ‘best buddy’ pundits Keane and Southgate together on ITV sport.

Not sure if many of you recall the Manure /Crystal Palace semi-final cup-tie some years back, when Keane stamped on Southgate, who at that time was lying flat out on the floor.

unsavoury incident yesterday and I agree with Ferguson about how dangerous that was-the player seemed smug in interviews after the game. The authorities need to look into this in my view.
There is something about Swansea that is starting to bug me with their gold trimmed kit and some of their faux big time players-seem to have Forgotten their roots something our club and and supporters have never done.

Nothing wrong with their kit; th

all white with trimmed gold -media darlings which grates especially after only two years
Arrogant b@@@ards let’s see them do eight years and keep the feet on the ground
what most likely grates (you and others) is the fact that they’re on track to have two cracking years in the PL (no one-season wonders), where they like us have had to sell better players and rebuild, …
something they’re currently doing very successfully (league position, new manager, Michu, etc.)

full credit to them, play football that is pleasing on the eye, unlike the likes of Stoke City.

their football style and league position currently does the talking for them, they don’t need to rely on ‘fancy kits’ ….

Nothing wrong with their kit; as for faux big-time players, if indeed there are any and I don’t see it (e.g. QPR – Bosingwa) they’re all doing their bit for the club, reflected in the team’s standing. Play football the right way to boot. Good luck to them.

Old Mr red nose of selective sight, and memory (Kung Fu Cantona etc.). In desperate need of some elocution lessons, or may be it just the drink talking….

Unsavory incident – sure. Could have killed him, broken his neck ? Do me a favour. The old man ought to stop making a complete arse of himself.

”Stoke yes, but Norwich and Swansea I dont buy that. We have had 8 years in this league ot build a team, and have a good first team if they stay fit. We have been lucky in recent years and our poor squad is coming to haunt us.”

That’s right Edinburgh – ONLY 8 years in arguably the toughest and most expensive league in the world and with the lowest revenue streams. We spent a total of 8 years in the fourth tier and 11 + 6 years in third tier, where it took some major investment disproportionate for that division to get ourselves out. We then only spent TWO seasons in the 2nd tier before reaching the lofty heights we now find ourselves in.
I’m sure disproportionate investment in this division would have helped us build a team over 8 years (look at at Chelsea and City), but I doubt we’d have a club to show for it (look at Portsmouth). So 8 years of survival (divisional and financial), whilst often frustrating and demoralising, is actually a bl00dy amazing achievement. And if we can stay up this year, bank the bumper TV money from next year with balanced books then maybe just maybe we can start to build a team on some solid foundations and in line with the time it took us to escape the lower 2 divisions.

Its not done much for QPR yet

Credit to ‘wheeler/dealer, tax clever’ Redknapp – he’s made for some entertaining (Sky) TV today.

Effectively, not overly complimentary to his Chairman, Fernandez, who’s blabbed a riposte on Twitter.

Augers well for a great Manager-Chairman relationship

but too much information …. !

Being in the East stand with rapidly failing eyes it did look malicious ! The pen looked soft from my view but to be fair our players didn’t really argue the decision either ! I haven’t seen any of the game back and so hindsight doesn’t come into it for me ! I thought we had hit the post at one point only to be told afterwards from someone in the South stand that it actually hit the back stanchion ! I believe everyone sees the games from a different perspective whether it be from actual incidents or just how the games pan out ! On the whole yesterday was a pretty good performance against a well organised side and it was our lack of mettle in the final third that let us down…Again !!

back (‘defensive intensity’ – switch off for goal) and front (end product’).

On the subject of watching the game back, I’ve re-run MOTD for Arsenal / Fulham (several weeks back) and Latics / Arsenal.

Would like someone to explain how Gooners can be awarded a last minute penalty for handball against Fulham (ball to hand, 3 yards distance) – Arteta missed – and yet we don’t get one of two shouts (ball carries far greater distance, Gibbs in particular) against Arsernal, particularly in context of soft penalty award against Latics. I’m confused.

Referees – consistency

As for that idiot Hanson, MOTD, advocating that Kone ought to have gone down in the second half (penalty). Feckin imbecile. No wonder football is what it is today – simulations, man-handling etc. Many a spectator driven away.

One minute we’re talking about dishing out yellows for blatant gamesmanship (Carzola – Arsenal /WBA), the next we’re advocating ‘fall to the ground'(Walcott etc.) on slightest contact.

No wonder many a ref has a ‘mare. Some players aren’t half making life difficult for them and abusing what should be a spectacle.

I applaud Kone for staying on his feet and the team for playing the game the proper way (win or lose).

goodpost
