Wey hey! They’d been seen at the DW store on the retail park buying Latics replica shirts apparently ;)
Yep, spotted on the East Lancs heading towards Greyhound island
Damn, my image hasn’t appeared! :(
We did strangle them with the penalty but I’ve no complaints, there’s been loads of times when we’ve been on the receiving end.
Two other things of note from last night – the ‘new’ Jordi Gomez really bust a gut and covered every blade of grass. I think a certain new manager may have had a word and told him how much better he could be if he stepped up a gear. He was tracking back, tackling (sometimes a little clumsily), involved in everything and all the better for it.
The other thing is Boycey has a doppelganger. Wednesday’s 17 (same as Boycey) Helan was an on-pitch ringer for him. Same height, build, running style, the lot. Same number of letters on his shirt that could read anything from a distance for failing eyes. Not as good as Boycey though :)
I’m knackered just reading that. An Herculian task but it’d great to round it off with the cherry on the cake at Wembley :)
Looks like my seven night holiday in Cornwall just became a six night holiday in Cornwall
Lescott was 100% offside. Like Sammy said, it’s all academic now and that’s why the statement the refereeing body or whatever made won’t be scrutinised and was made to pacify and protect their officials. Most neutrals I’ve spoken to have said their goal shouldn’t have stood. It all happened very quickly and would’ve probably taken a top drawer linesman, sorry referee’s assistant, to spot it in the first place. Even Carson and our defenders didn’t complain.
Had he won the penalty after his faux pas/name in neon lights/red mist moment, I would have raised it to 8.5
As has been said, to a man, it was a remarkable performance yesterday. All 10 out of 10s except Fortune who has a full 2 points deducted for not passing to Maclean to put us 3-1 up.
Rosler seems to like BeausejourI’m not surprised. He’s a class act at this level and the good things he does far outweigh the bad.
On that subject, I’m not getting how Jordi isn’t in the frame at the moment for a regular start. Hard to say who’d have to make way because even though Ben Watson is out for the season they’re totally different types of player. Strange to see such a classy player (especially at this level) warming the bench but in Uwe we trust.
I think the 2nd half game plan was to make the game more entertaining and competitive but Barnsley were so bad they wouldn’t oblidge.
Rosler quote….”Second half we were running out of fuel, we didn’t attack in the manner I’d like, but I understand that because of our match programme.”
The stamina issue again ! If the squad isn’t whipped into shape soon then the play-offs will be a no no !
I never quite get this stamina over style of play thing. Does a team expend more energy piling on pressure trying to score or busting a gut trying not to concede? I suppose a team is forced into the latter but wouldn’t have to be if it pulled its finger out and did the former  Now I’m really confused
Andy Webster – what was that all about? Four games and that was it. Reinvented slow.
He is also our laziest, slowest and most tackled player, the sooner he and Beausejour go the better. You left an adjective out in that first sentence Ray – best. And strangely, your ignorance knows no bounds by having a pop at our other best player too. Streets ahead these two in this league.
Nah, we ain’t getting knocked out – we’re gonna win it again ;)
and as an added bonus, a post-war FA Cup record was broken today at the DW.Go on then, I’ll bite…what was it?…*yawn*
mentioned it last week and put a video on here when he was younger ;)Oh aye?…
