Insted of copying the Warriors, lets think of our own ideas.
I doubt very much the Warriors fans thought of it. More likely been watching the out of town glory hunting teams they support on telly Liverpool, Man U and copied them. The Stretford End and Kop have been masters of flags for years. Wigan Warriors fans copy every single idea they have from football, its like they want to be football fans theyre even copying 80’s style football hooliganism at many games now
Local lads again I see
I hope that when they come here on the opening day they play as well in orange as we did last season away from home
The lad is keener than a puppy chewing on a table leg I’ll give him that
If we’re on the subject of youtube clips, then this one is of interest. It’s all about Latics:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzORKZPpDn8
I have struggled ( although admittedly have more important things to do than search ) to find any footage on youtube of Wigan Athletic fans uploading especially photoshopped video edited propoganda of Wigan Athletic fans saying offensive things ( repeatedly ) about Wiggin Rugby.
But just remember WE are the bitter ones and We are irrelevant to them
They even sings songs about Latics at games….
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FyxCqGVyOU
To think these people have the gall to call us “Bitter Blues” and “obsessed” 8-)
(and please dont come back bleating that the latics get slated on C&W because they hardly get a mention)Highly ironic seeing as the person who started this thread actually copied a large part of his opening post directly from that very site
You talk about obsessed but there is a 35+ page thread on there talking about crowds and on nearly every page some dimwit is slagging off Latics, as if the only thing that matters in the world is that they get a bigger crowd than we have this season.
Indeed one of the people crowing on there about the crowd being bigger than ours is a poster off here called Rogues Gallery. Aren’t we snidey, sucking up to us on here and then going running off to your mates for a pat on the back?
I don’t bleat I deal in facts pal – the fact is that this site has recently become a home for bleating rugby fans trying to make a issue of the fact some Latics fans hate the rugby. If you knew your history you would understand exactly why many Latics fans don’t like Wiggin Rugby as they spent most of the 80s and 90s trying to put Latics out of business. I don’t like bullies personally, neither do many of the others who were around at the time.
We hate them because they tried to kill us
They hate us because we still existTo be honest, The Egg, a bit of give and take is all that is required. However, the arrogance of some ( but not all ) of the rugby lot on RLfans.com is beyond belief.
Latics have already given ground by not requesting a home fixture on the opening day, to expect us to play more or less every game away from home until the end of September because Wigan Warriors might have a play off fixture ( might being a key word ) is not on at all, you only have to look at our away form last season to see what a disadvantage Latics would be at.
There are years and years of precedent where Latics and the rugby are concerned, mostly Latics giving way e.g. we only played one home fixture on Boxing Day throughout the 90s to accommodate the Rugby v Saints.
I know the RL lot will say that their play off games are more important but then there were, what 8000 at the Castleford play off game last season compared to 20000 possibly at a Wigan v Sunderland game.
And of course football is not as fluid as rugby: Sunderland fans will have to travel further, may have booked hotel and it’s less likely that both set of fans can walk up and pay on the day.
The revenue through the gate and for TV rights dwarves probably ten times over what an RL play off game would bring in.
Contrary to what some people on RL have been saying about me [big wave to you all] I am not so anti-RL. I merely like pointing out the small minded ness of many RL fans, after all the drivel they write about WAFC fans, a team and sport they care not to care for
There’s not too much I have said in the above that is even worthy of debate, it is mostly fact. Unfortunately, what is called passion by a lot of RL fans in Wigan, looks suspiciously like hypocrisy to the outside world for all the reasons i have stated above.
I only wish there were more people like you with a foot in both camps to try and add a sense of realism to the debate.
Anyone with a rational mind would not expect a game in the biggest league in the world to be moved for a regional play off which will not even be confirmed as a fixture until the week before but this lot aren’t rational.
It’s all part of the deal of sharing grounds and a town I’m afraid and both clubs have had to give ground over the years
Dont know about mifit but weve had plenty of misfits wearing the shirt over the years
Don’t get me wrong I wouldn’t endorse shooting anyone for getting it wrong and although I might buy one I rarely wear one. However, fans like to wear a new shirt on their summer holiday and football fans like to go on holiday before the season starts.
They have brought new kit out before the end of the previous season in the past so I’m sure it’s just been down to the Vandanel problems etc. Would have preferred Nike meself generally classier but will reserve judgement till I see what it’s like
If you don’t want think you get enough value from a Latics season ticket, maybe you’d be better off dropping down and watching Championship football
A season ticket at Leeds is £540, got get ’em kidda ;)
That’s not the point. The point is they keep coming out with ‘rewards’ for ‘loyal s/t holders’…..yet it is nothing of the sort.
And even if you take a friend for a fiver, it’s stupid. Because most people with season tickets sit among other s/t holders…..so where does your ‘guest’ sit? On your knee?, or miles away, on their own?
Stupid, poorly thought out, idea. Some reward, that.[/quote]
OK then. Just been on to the club, they’ve said you can have a season ticket for £500 ( still cheaper than Leeds ) which will give you the “reward” of getting another person in for free.
The reward for loyalty is inner comfort from knowing that you’ve always been there. And a 6th season of Premier League football. Why do Wiganers always demand summat for nuffin

I find all this sole destroying
Hope that helps. Not really. I only joined in this thread because you seemed to be seeking help by repeatedly asking a question. I answered it, as you requested. I didn’t need any help, I was just giving you some ;)
A bit like comparing rugby with football, but you lot keep creating threads dedicated to a totally different sport.I agree hence my comments about people trying to compare apples with eggs earlier. Remind me again who was that?
Fair play to those who travel to the south of France for 80 minutes of sport, the week after a 3000 took a trip to South West London.Out of interest, when was the last time the latics took 3000 fans to an away game?
You were the one making the comparison, I gave you reasons why you shouldn’t have made the above comparison such as 1) fewer away games in total 2) fewer away games in the capital 3) relative success of teams 4) TV exposure of relative teams 5) availability of tickets 6) the most important one, the expense e.g. it’s £15 to get in at Harlequins so you can get three adults and unlimited season ticket holding kids in for less than the price of just one ticket to watch Latics at Chelsea.
I was referring to Griff’s remarks about all rugby games being local, so the London issue is irrelevent. That wasn’t the way I read it, I read it like this (3rd thread down)

No mention of griff, he hadn’t even contributed to this thread at this point
I had no issue with the opinion that you expressed, I just served to answer the question which followed and you repeatedly asked.
Your arms must be sore with all the goal post moving you are doing
