Scharner looked amazingly p’d off, throughout the game.

Several times he was waiting on the back post for a cross which never came.

Give it a few weeks, he’ll be touting for a move.

And you know what? I don’t blame him.

And you know what? I have never known one man to speak so much utter crap on a message board in my entire life.

I dont care how long you’ve been watching latics, how many away games you’ve fu cking been to years ago or how good a singer you are; quite simply you are waiting for us to fail to come on here spouting off drivel.

Paul Hart? Paul Jewell? Neil Warnock? I’m surprised you’ve not written to Whelan yourself offering your servcies as manager.

Whelan’s grandson who is mid 20’s and runs Vizwear attends every game? My bet would be that he will be on the Board of Directors in the near future.

We are probably the smallest club to ever compete in the Premier League (13000 home fans for a game against Manchester United, 11000 season ticket holders paying 250quid???) and when we got here , 99% of us thought we would do what loads of others have done and stick around for a year before going down.

Our aim has always been and as far as I can see always will be staying up. The anti Whelan brigade saying he should go are living in a dream world because without him, or someone else like him anyway, putting money in every year we would be in a similar position to Leeds or Southampton…but with an average gate of about 8000.

We can’t build something long term in the Premier League because we can’t afford to. We can’t offer the likes of Palacios and Valencia and Cattermole what they can get elsewhere, and to be honest if by doing so it puts the future of the club at risk then I’d rather we didn’t.

Its ok saying we have all this money to spend…I’m afraid we don’t. The sales of the players over the past 6 months should have made serious in roads into the 60 million debt we have but then we have to keep reinvesting in the squad so its catch 22. Forget the Sky money in terms of a profit because its goes straight against the 38 million wage bill we are carrying.

Simple question is; how long can a club go on losing money every year??

To me it looks like the board, or Whelan alone, has sat down and looked at things and thought we have to change the way we are operating because long term it’s not sustainable and to my mind that’s the reason Steve Bruce left. We now have a young manager who appears to want to be here long term, hopefully Whelan will stick with him so let’s give him time to build something.

Saturday is massive. For me it’s a real defining game in terms of how the season could go. A win would be fantastic, 6 points from a tough start will be a good return.

Get dusted and the doom and gloom mongers will have a field day, or a field few weeks with Arsenal and Chelsea coming up next.

                    Dave has spoken.

Forget the moaning, the slagging off of everyone and the endless drivel he’s been speaking for the past few weeks.

Dave says support the lads now, so support the lads we must do!

8 million for Viduka is more like it, because stoke would and pompey would.

Get some money wasted Whelan you tight get.

I fail to see what we can do about Steve Bruce being linked with one of our players?????

Not good enough last night on the field, for whatever reason. I’m sure that’s been covered elsewhere on 1000’s of posts calling for Martinez to go and Whelan to sell up or spend a billion pound etc.

However, the attitude of a number of our fans was appalling. We took a good following, 1500 maybe, with lots of old face’s there.

It seemed to be a bit of an eye opener for the Premier League only lot

Some lads behind us (when I say lads they were old enough to know better) seemed to be disgusted at the thought that Premier League Wigan could be getting beat 3-0 by “Blackpool…. I don’t even know what league they are in but they are S*ite”

“I’m not coming to this whale watching Wigan again they shouldn’t even be allowed to open the ground when it’s like this”

Never saw Springfield Park then I take it?

We will never, ever be an established Premier League team, we have been punching above our weight for a while now and if some people had bothered to show an interest in the towns football team before 2005 they might have known that getting beat at Blackpool and places like that was part for the course. When we were in the Championship we took great delight in upsetting teams who had the attitude “we should be beating teams like Wigan” its pretty embarrassing if we are going down that road

I have paid my money, I am a long-standing fan, I expect a better performance than last nights. I am entitled to expresss my concerns (even though you might not agree with what I say, just as you are entitled to your opinions) that we are just not good enough at present and I can fully understand the attitude of many of our fans who believe that the club is not good enough at present. Sorry to sound very harsh, but I feel that you are unfair to say that the attitude of our fans was appalling and just because someone never saw Wigan play at Springfield Park does not mean that they are not a loyal fan.[/quote]

I’m not bothered how long anyone has been going but the day we start acting the big bollocks at clubs like Blackpool is a sad day for Wigan Athletic in my book.

We dont have a right to beat teams just because we have been in the Premiership for 4 seasons, from where i was sat they fancied it more than our collection of reserves and players on the way out. Its not a big deal we are 4 games into the season.

Have a word with a few Chester fans about Steven Vaughan??? I dont think he could lie straight if he was dead. Or Newcastle fans about Ashley. Leeds fans about Ridsdale? Darlington Fans about Reynolds? Wrexham fans? Pompey Fans?

Could go on and on and on.

He’s not perfect, not by any stretch, but there are far worse out there and you seem to want him out so please answer me this..who would replace him????
