I can’t see us doing much business at all.

If we do anything it will be signing Al Habsi permanently and getting a replacement in for Boselli and possibly ditching Cleverley for another loan signing.

I am very interested in what is going on with Boselli at the moment. It’s clear we’ll let him go, but who have we got lined up to replace him?

Before we got Moreno in we nearly signed Marco Ruben from Villareal and I see he is making an impact in their first team this season – scored against Real Madrid on Saturday.

I wonder which one of our 10,000 targets we monitor on a weekly basis is going to come in……

He wasn’t average from what I saw last night. As for Espanyol, do you really think any of their highly-rated players are going to sign for us?

They have been the surprise package this season and any of their young stars will be snapped up by La Liga’s bigger clubs.

Maybe he drove down to Heathrow……..

I’ve been through the squad list and I don’t think we will be a whole lot stronger than that. Piscu is a centre back.

Players out: Moses, McCarthy, Cleverley, Di Santo, Boselli, N’Zogbia, Kirkland, Boyce.

It’s almost an entire team! Maybe we should recall a couple of players – Koumas anyone?

Or maybe Genoa is his likely destination?? He was being linked with Genoa before he signed for us.

Football GENOA BOSELLI AFTER TONE / GENOA – A few days ago his agent had disclosed to the microphones of Calciomercatoweb.it the interest of another Italian Mauro Boselli. With the departure of Toni as the Argentinian with an Italian passport of Wigan has been compared to Genoa. A track which, according to information gathered by our editorial staff, it is feasible, so that the leadership rossoblu has already made contacts with the entourage of the player and the British ruling for a possible loan with the right of redemption.

Liverpool fans have to be among the most deluded in the country in my opinion. They rival the Geordies in that respect.

How long have Liverpool been a two-man team now? Yet as soon as “Stevie G” and Torres go missing and the rest of the team are exposed as the dross that they are, who is it who gets the blame? Poor old Hodgson who has hardly had any time to shift out the poor players and bring his own ones in.

In the words of a former mentally ill manager “I’d love it, love it” if they went down. It won’t happen, but I think I would actually lose control of my bladder if it did :D

I don’t see a queue of clubs in for him at the moment in fact Tony Pulis has distanced himself from rumours that Sjoke are interested in him.

Stranger things have happened, but I happen to think that the fact we managed to sign two of British football’s most promising talents is a bit of a coup for a Premier League club which averages 16k a game.

In fact just because loads of clubs weren’t after Moses and McCarthy and didn’t put in concrete bids doesn’t mean we didn’t have to work hard to get them here. Both of them could have said, ‘I don’t fancy going to a club which has so many moaning fans on message boards who hate the manager, I think I’ll stay where I am until a better and bigger offer comes along’

It would be surprising but then we have pulled off a few surprising transfers in recent years and our manager does seem to have a silver tongue when it comes to getting players to sign for us – look at McCarthy and Moses. Also, while it seems laughable now in hindsight when we signed Boselli that was a bit of a coup!

N’Zogbia signed for us to get his career back on track. Besides I’m sure the Celtic influences in our dressing room would be right up his street

I did wonder about Mr Willie yesterday. Would be cheap but scoring in the Scottish Premier League is one thing, scoring in this league is something else as we have found all season.

I think we have to be realistic. We are not going to be able to attract the kind of player who is going to score a dozen goals by the end of the season. What we are looking for is a player who is going to nick a goal here and there who will turn some of our draws into wins.

I don’t care if we continue to average a goal a game or even slightly less than that if we pick up a few wins between now and the end of the season to keep us up.

eso es una evaluación muy precisa, aunque mi español es un poco como las palomas!

Why would the media think our manager was at risk of losing his job? Our chairman very publicly said he would remain in charge even if we got relegated.

In fact, bookies should not be pricing him up on the sack race because everyone knows he will still be here next season.

When are Moses and McCarthy expected back?

While I think these two should slot back into the team they are unlikely to be back in peak match fitness for a fair few weeks yet.

We need reinforcements now. Question is, can we afford to wait a month for Cleverley to be fit or should we cancel his loan and get someone else in?

I see Blackburn are being linked with Jay Emmanuel Thomas. This is a player who could replace Cleverley and would be perfect for our system seeing as he has played as a right footer cutting in from the left side of a three pronged attack.

The priority for me is to get this Boselli situation sorted out so we either keep him and show some faith in him, or we ship him out and get someone else in. The fact he wasn’t even on the bench last night suggests somethng might well be in the offing.

But perhaps the most important player to acquire is an equivalent to Van Der Vart so we have someone who can link up play and score goals. We won’t get anyone as good as him, but we need that type of player.

I wonder whether somebody like Tuncay could play that role off Rodders? Could be worth a shout and we have been linked with him before.

Before I go, I must give another mention to Piscu. Let’s give him a full game against Hull on Saturday to build up his match sharpness so we can get him in to replace Caldwell at the back.
