“After next Monday night (transfer window) we’ll know whether we (as a club) are up for the fight or not.”

That just about puts it all in a nutshell Griff.

I have a suggestion for all you lot who get all apoplectic and hate what you’re watching – don’t f****** watch it, no-one is forcing you.

I am a bit surprised at you Griff…you usually post constructive comments on here but that was a little unfair imho.

There are now many hundreds if not thousands of fans who feel that fed up with the dull, toothless performances they have witnessed for far too long that they have taken your advice and don’t F****** watch anymore!

If it carries on much longer it wont be long before the day comes at the DW when there are more away fans in than home fans.

        and as for the

There was an old fella sat in front of me last night who I’d never seen before. He thinks the football we play would be really good to watch if only we were good enough to do it faster. I agree with that.

That’s a bit like saying if my aunty had balls she’d be my uncle….we simply are not good enough to play the style Martinez wants, if we were we would be another Arsenal and that is never going to happen.

Last night, apart from the last few minutes was simply awful to watch. A very poor Nobend team came, did the basics and we simply couldn’t create decent chances. Two mistakes by them gave us the win. If their defender had closed down Gomez more quickly, he wouldn’t have recovered his poor first touch and got his shot off, and had their defender brought down NZogbia, which I was surprised he didn’t, then even the most ardent Martinez followers would be on here today calling for his head.

I think some fans have watched this garbage for so long they have got conditioned into thinking this is the norm.

So Mr Martinez, I don’t think the taxi is outside beeping it’s horn just yet, but rest assurred, no matter what Mr Whelan may say, I’ll bet he is keeping an eye on any new managers becoming available, and has got the yellow pages handy with the Taxi listings page dog earred.

James C seriously mate I would shut up if I was you…..you didn’t go, it was painful like watching grass grow. Tonight I was really wishing I was not there, I also regret getting my tickets for West Ham.

I didn’t boo, I never would, but I can see why some feel the need to voice their opinion at the ground.

We are far from safe yet.

I reckon Burnley are down and its one from Us, West Ham and Hull.

I would just love it if iwas West Ham, going down on the last game of the season against Citee with Tevez scoring the goal that sends them down. Now that would be justice….

                  Interesting point Filmoss…

I have no friends, so I hope to use this offer to entice people into speaking to me, so that they can get cheap tickets…

The first half was cringeworthingly poor……but I would never boo the team.

I hate to say it but we have some proper morons coming to the DW this season.

Happily I reckon most of them had probably pished off before the goal was scored

Oh btw I know there are genuine reasons for fooking off early sometimes but I’m having a do at the ones who go early for no real reason…

I agree with Yosser. A lot of positives.

I thought we gave Villa a good game tonight.

The match on Saturday is set up to be a cracker. 8-)

Fair do’s….All I know is it’s going to be a tough last part of the season, and the last thing the club needs is every body booing and moaning. It is time to put the past firmly behind us and push on.

I really believe what ever happens the club will grow and prosper from it. 8-)

My ones just in case anyone duplicates them….

                                1) Roberto-I think most of us appreciate the work you and your staff have put in since your arrival in trying to change the way the team plays. We are unrecognisable from the long ball team which we undoubtedly were under your predecessor. We understand that this drastic change cannot occur over night and many of us can see the improvements we are making.
Having said that there was a short spell in the recent game against Tottenham when we found ourselves with two strikers up front and we started to trouble Spurs, retained more possession in their half and looked like we may take something from the game. Further substitutions were then made and we reverted back to one striker and we invited pressure again and Spurs won the game with little threat from us.
In hindsight do you regret the fact that we did not keep two strikers up front?
Would you be able to assure the fans that in the last few games of the season you will be more open to playing a more traditional 4-4-2 if it is seen to be working, especially at home?

                                2) On a different note-There has been much made by the press of Latics small attendances at some games. Do you feel that this aspect has any effect on the player’s attitude when they run out to a small home crowd? If so, have you explained to the players that Wigan is a small town, in a relatively under privileged area of the country, surrounded by more established clubs and have you recounted to the players your own experiences of the way this club has dramatically grown since your time here as a player?
