You would never admit we played well anywhere. Bristol City away we were excellent and you still complained I recall. We are one of the smallest teams in the league with less of an income than both Blackburn and Preston. To suggest only West Brom and Leeds are stronger than us is bloody ridiculous. Reading paid 10 million for a striker from Inter Milan FFS. How can we compete with that?
Wrong because cooks spent just over a week in relegation places in championship in two seasons? We will never compete at top end of this league so it’s hardly a surprise. Top 6 at minute comprises of 2 teams with parachute payments (Fulham and West Brom) with the other 4 from huge Cities (Sheffield, Nottingham, Bristol and Leeds). Look at our accounts. We are skint. Owners lack direction. Attendances have always been shite and all we will do is hang on in this league. Cook obviously ain’t pulling up any trees but let’s not pretend anyone would do that much better. Might get to 14th at best but that will be as good as it gets. I’m telling you he won’t be sacked as the owners aren’t prepared to pay him up and believe he’s done a decent job over last few seasons and deserves a bit of loyalty. We aren’t playing terribly but confidence towards the end of games is constantly tripping us up. I can’t think of more than a few games all season where we have played badly.
No Derek. Simply telling you Cook won’t be sacked this year. You can waste all your time remonstarting and getting annoyed but I’m simply telling you the facts. Cooks done well for the club.

Back to the pipe dream of us producing loads of academy superstars when we have never done it in a decade. You can see this season the difficulties in bedding in Gelhardt that it’s not as easy as it sounds and this is supposedly one of the best 17 year olds in the country. We may have a decent cohort in the 18s at the minute but I’m not sure we have the strength in depth behind that group. The 16s lost 8-0 to Rangers at the weekend and I watched the 14s lose 6-0 at City recently. There is much work to do if we are to continually produce boys ready for the first team and this will take time.
