LMB you are correct today was woeful. However, to suggest Martinez is as bad as you say doesn’t stand up to scrutiny. We have the lowest attendances in the league with the least money to spend. We remain as we post outside the relegation places which is no mean feat with the resources available. Everton, Wolves and Arsenal were decent performances and to suggest otherwise is unfair.
Today was terrible but lets take a more balanced view rather than jumping in when the team performs badly. Over the season so far the team has performed badly for me on only four occasions. Blackpool, Fulham, West ham and today. Lets hope for a response on Wednesday!
This is laughable Vat. Predicting 2 points out of 21! I see it as a relatively easy run in. Blackpool, Sunderland and Stoke are likely to have nothing to play for whilst West Ham and Everton at home are certainly winnable games. Compare it to West Ham’s April and you will see a tough month where they play 4 of the top 7 in the league (3 away) and the probable champions at home!
Where do we get these ‘fans’ from? And on the question of winnable games here are mine:
Fulham at home
Blackburn at home
Birmingham at home
West Ham at homePlus at least a couple of away wins (West Brom, Blackpool and Stoke arent exactly frightening prospects). Every few months under Bobby we have pulled off a shock win somewhere down the line so you can pencil that in too at some point. Now get your negative glasses off and get behind the lads.
Rubbish. We basically need another 5 or 6 wins. I cant see us not getting these with the home games we have left. Am sure we wont be the only team to have a tricky April! Besides some of the teams you mention could well have nothing to play for by then.
Has Fergie not confirmed Cleverley is staying? And i cant see Whelan jeopardising 50 million by selling Charlie for 10 million when he can get 6 or 7 in the summer.
I will do if this team of ours keeps fighting and improving like i have seen the last few games. Am just praying that Bobby has finally got it right and we can stop all the backbiting and get behind our wonderful club!
Boselli has got to be up there with the worst from what i have seen. Slow as a gods horse, poor workrate/movement, rarely wins a header, defender comes through him regularly when ball is played up to him to hold and when he has had chances he has blown em everywhere. I know its a tough system but at least Hugo normally scores the odd goal and looks a menace occasionally. So are some folk on here suggesting this fella is a shrewd piece of business?
The majority of succesful premier league forwards have certain attributes in abundance. Boselli doesnt have one and i have watched him every game he has played so far.
We must have the worst youth system in the country. I can only think of one regular first team player in the last 15 years in Baines
Correct. Its just transfer fees. But surely Sky money+ bit of cash from attendance fees and sponsorship covers the wages!
Give over. 100 million!!!!!

Where do we get em from? You wanna relax a bit. Are you angry day to day?
With the infrastructure at the club we are hardly gonna be challenging for Europe for fucks sake!
From what i have seen we aint played too bad recently (yesterday aside). Nobody claimed we were taking the league by storm. Just looking a bit more consistent. We are punching way above our weight. Enjoy it cos it wont last forever Mr Angry!
Did this realisation come after reading my post yesterday? :lol:No.
Its getting ridiculous now how we can do OK without having a striker that can actually score a goal!
can’t beleive all these ‘reasons’. some do add to the problem of course.
but THE main reason is…………….
football live in pubs.
simple. :roll:But its not. If you ever go in pubs when Latics are on you will find that they are hardly teaming with thousands of fans across the Town. Our kid works in pub in standish which shows games and she says if Latics are in they turn it off and put United/Liverpool on!
Apologies John. I got years wrong. Like you said you last went watching Wigan Rugby in 1985. I wouldnt cross that line myself but at least your honest!
Forgot about Eddie the Eagle. Its proper funny when you start thinking of the characters. I always remember that fella from Springfield with a proper scouse perm and a tache with his peroxide glam wife with the big teeth. Pure quality! Beany made the odd trip then but didnt do the longer ones much. Anyone remember them two mad fellas from Chorley who used to turn up and make up proper mad songs? Was watching a funny video of Lincoln away the other night when Suddy and around 8 Goons invaded the pitch when Andy Lyons scored. You just never get such crap drama now eh?
I really enjoyed the article but LMB is right in saying that most of these superfans never went when the club was really on its arse. In the late 80s/early 90s only around 80 regulars went home and away. When i think back i can pretty much name em individually with few of your mudhutters there. The old Latics Liner run by Joe and Mick had 50 on each week. People like Old Fred, Daz Orme, Alan Fairhurst, Brian Sabin, Alan Hart, Jeff Wood and Danny were home and away come hail or shine. When the club was at its lowest ebb over the last 30 years these 80 remained. Most others (like Arky and a few of the other mudhutters) were on their way to Wembley with Wigan Rugby clad in Ellgren!
