Oh aye we battered em!
Be a big point that then. 5 points going into October is some start even after the last debacle in this league. Perhaps Le Fondre will turn it round!
Why Yanic isn’t playing is beyond me. Least we look dangerous with him on the pitch. Obvious why Klopp got shut of Bogdan. Jussi was superb last season so why bring a bloke in whose hardly played for 12 months? These deadline day signings look a complete waste of time. Panic buying at it best! No way should this team to be where it is.
Aye. Let’s forget the number of assists Yanic had last season and the key goals scored. Let’s forget he’s our most dangerous player by a country mile. Blackburn were terrified of him whilst Birmingham doubled up on him at times. And for all the Pearce lovers I presume if it was common knowledge he was available why were only Third tier clubs in for him if he’s that good?
Superb job for the lad that. What a proud day for us all. One of our own leading a team to the world cup finals.
All a bit odd this obsession with how many other men watch an activity isn’t it? When I go to the pub I don’t think how many other blokes are in. Or when I take the kids to the cinema I don’t think ‘it’s a disgrace that only 30 turned up for ghost busters’. How can it be a ‘disgrace’ that 6000 people have bought season tickets to watch eleven blokes kick a ball around? Why does it matter if 200 go to Doncaster to watch a different sport? Seems to me both clubs have a similar following. Does it really matter?
If you like being in big crowds go and watch a bigger club. We ain’t one and never will be. Watched us with 1500 on, watched us with 20000 on. Did I enjoy it more with a bigger crowd on? No. Grow up!
That said. Tricky for England to pick a Reading player who has just scored 3 goals in the championship. They’ve beaten Slovakia, Russia, Northern Ireland and Belgium. Can’t remember any of those sides doing much in major tournaments. Wales have done brilliantly but think a few are getting carried away. Their side of the draw is particularly weak. If only Roy hadn’t made those six chances!
Think we need to remember we have played perhaps the worst Russian team seen at a major tournament, a Wales team with a covering of Lower Premier league/championship players and Slovakia. 3 goals is hardly reflective of a team on fire.
Hodgson may well have signed his own p45 with his team selection last night. Instead of a game against a 3RD place finisher and an easier quarter final it’s now likely we will face France in the quarters in Paris followed by Germany. Fair enough make changes if we have already won group but not when we havent even qualified. Build up play is too slow in final third and as we well know at Latics possession stats count for nowt. Was it 30 shots last night? Certainly can’t remember lots of clear cut chances. Same against Russia.
For all his talk I don’t see Hodgson having much of a plan. Apart from throwing on every forward we had against Wales and edging the game I don’t see a cohesive strategy and for me he missed the potential of building momentum into the knockout stages by showing an arrogance we can’t afford in his selection.
With four major trophies in a season how can winning one of those be seen as failure? Neither of the two clubs are currently in the class of Barca, Real or Bayern so no surprises there which leaves 3 trophies (2 of which they have won).
One day he will return. Still a legend after he took on all the big boys and beat them in his time with us. Folk rightly praise GC but he has had 3 x the income of the rest of the league and simply bought the players he fancied from other clubs. Next year will be a far more honest appraisal of his managerial capabilities. Let’s hope he’s up to the task.
Why are people nervous? It’s hardly vital for us either way. We are already promoted and have little to play for apart from the kudos of winning a title that in all probability we will win regardless of Saturdays result. Do some think Walsall will win 12-0?
Yoyo club. Not won a major trophy in 43 years. Of no consequence to us. Jog on muttyboy!
Looking at Games coming up looks like Souhend or Blackpool games will win us league.
Drivel? Thought it was basic common sense that the adage ‘the early bird catches the worm’ rings true for ticket sales across the country. Call it complacency, a lack of wit or motivation. Facts are with our away support this season being so good it seems foolhardy to swan up at 12 asking where all the tickets have gone in a game that could have won us the league in Blackpool.
Seriously hope the club gets more as would be ridiculous to see a half empty ground in a game that we could sell 5k+.
