Surprised nobodys mentioned this season that Macmanamans been bloody awful. Cant beat a man, cant get a cross in. Looks like hes lost pace too.
If folk showed the same passion for getting out of bed yesterday morning than they have shown abusing fellow fans and the club the last 24 hours am sure they wouldnt be complaining. Suddenly the club shows contempt to its fans and certain posters are smug thieves! Facts are this club has done nothing but look after its fans over the last ten years with the best value ticket prices in the country on average. Even a bloody VIP trip with the team is 475 quid and folk complain. Our club doesnt decide away allocations, have given everyone two months notice and still they get lambasted.
Empathetic? I hope everyone gets a ticket who wants one and think they will. Maribor wont want 500 Wiganers walking round ticketless whilst the ground is empty cos they have nowt to play for. Im also not smug. FFS. Getting a ticket to watch us play a no mark Slovenian team is hardly a reason to celebrate. Just cant understand why folk who were commited to paying to travel didnt pull out all the stops with so few tickets being available. If folk couldnt get there i didnt see anyone asking for help on here. One mon arrived at 1.30 in the morning apparently. I know not everyone can show that level of commitment but not sure how else the club can sort out distribution?
No mate. Work full time, 5 kids, travelled 40 mile this morning to get ticket. Got up at 4. Depends on level of commitment i suppose. Booked in dentist appointment at work. Job done! The package (VIP) at 475 is good value. Flights alone are 250 now without extras of being with team so i dont see a problem. You couldnt do that with many teams for 475 quid believe me. City, united etc all do package deals. I hope you all get sorted and as i said above i think you will do but dont go complaining we sell an allocation of 600 tickets quickly.
Did folk not realise we were only getting just over 600? Could have sworn that was common knowledge weeks ago. Why the complaining? I got up at 5 this morning and got in the queue. The same happens at ticketed events round the country when supply and demand cant meet. Do you complain in the January sales when the bargains go?
Everyone organising travel knew the crack. Its first come first served. 450 were on sale this morning. You cant trust phonelines so get in the queue like most of us did (or get someone else to do it). Am sure the club will get more as Maribor will be out the competition in a month.
Fair play to the Maribor fans?
Dont think so. Pure scum. About 50 smashed up parts of Town centre near Sams bar attacking our fans armed with baseball bats before match. Most got nicked but at least a few got what they deserved once they were split. Cant believe nobodys mentioned it!
Top 4 Bob wont be too worried. We aint scored 3 at home this season yet.
Credit where its due. That first half was top quality. Doesn’t seem long since we were battering Newcastle in the first half under Bobby! Think a few on here will have to start eating humble pie. He turned Swansea round, kept us in the top flight on a reduced budget and won a major trophy and now hes got Everton off to one of their best starts to a season in years. His only blemish as a Manager is relegating us but i would defy anyone to keep us up season in season out with our budget. Top Manager and a top bloke to boot. What says you haters?
They have given us a couple of hidings at their place even when we had a premier league income! Crainey and Mccann hardly look great signings. However, Dicko and Fyvie look even worse and Coyle didnt sign them. Whatever happens Coyle should be given to next year. He has inherited a depleted squad where he has had to wheel and deal to boost the numbers with a limited budget with no choice but lose some of the more valuable players. 3 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats is hardly disastrous. Just ask any Bolton fan!
Who cares about the result (though a hard fought draw at a club that finished 2nd to Anderlecht last year is hardly a diagrace). What a belting few days. Brugge an absolute stunning City, great ale, top food and fantastic to see so many old faces making the visit. Was like being in the brick, the Springfield and the supporters club at Springy on foreign soil at one point Thursday afternoon. Supporters (with one or two drunken exceptions) a credit to the club and everyone on the ferry was made up with their trip on the way back. Felt like i was dreaming watching our beloved team play European football. Bring on Maribor!
More than happy with midtable this season. No point us going up to battle relegation again. Highlight of season will be European trips. Nowts gonna beat us winning FA cup and now a once in a lifetime chance of watching us in Europe. Ill die a happy man whatever happens now.
Anyone any ideas when tickets for the City game away are available? With 7 working days to the game and the majority of away ans being abroad next week it’s pretty appaling that there’s no information on the website!
5 more here. Spoken to another 20 on this at last home match.
Huge gamble by Martinez. He has moved to a top 6 side and signed 4 players from a team that were relegated under him. With no win in his first 3 games and Chelsea up next he could put himself under huge pressure over the coming months. Will watch with interest.
13 million for an average player is great business. Have rarely come away for a ground home or away and thought ‘what a superb player McCarthy is’. I wish him well but reckon Whelans played another blinder! Keep our powder dry for new year and then buy Rhodes when Blackburns season is finished perhaps?
