Why? Why? Why? Ask Victor!
Not sure of your problem here. He is merely stating facts. If Liverpool had killed 39 Latics fans I wouldn’t sign for em either and would make it clear why!
Not sure why the knives are suddenly out for Boyce. Anyone would think he was 40 not 33 years old. Our most consistent performer bar none and have watched him have a fair few good games so far this season. Figueroa on the other hand has looked poor at times and is constantly caught out of position. Nearly every goal is scored on his side or from his poor play. And if he did look tired on Saturday he wasn’t on his own!
Why do we not revert to the same 11 (bar Moses) that got us our best run of form? I would bench Ramis and Kone (too lazy to play up front on his own) and go back to the players and formation that finished the season in style. The Japanese lad may be best to replace Moses but other than that position the rest pick themselves. Boselli may look decent against reserve teams in the League cup but has looked woeful in the premier league at times and you can’t look past Di Santo as the number one forward surely.
Bloody rubbish Martinez. Assembling a squad that can only beat another premier league team away 4-1. Come on Darksiders. 3 ties from wembley. No chance!
He couldn’t get in our team back end of the season and when he came on was generally woeful in front of goal! Let’s see where both teams are at Christmas.
Looks to me like we have cover in almost every position. Bickymon on the positive again!
Very true JR. Lots of our fans dont realise what a rare breed Roberto is! His integrity is pretty much unparalleled in the modern game and his love for the club/Mr Whelan can never be doubted. Across the country when the bigger clubs come calling every player and Manager seems to go but not our Bobby.
Think we should know by now that premier league players are only after one thing! Most players that have left have gone backwards whilst their bank balances have gone upwards!
Grass greener? Think your forgetting the cash element! Wilson Palacios has probably earned 4 x as much as he earned at Wigan over the last few years so am sure he won’t be regretting the move!
As one of the proud 800 that made the journey im afraid to say Kone was certainly not MOTM material. Held ball well, didn’t work particularly hard but was a real presence. Up until goal looked edgy in front of goal and had couple of clear cut chances second half. He looks promising but believe me when you watched his workrate throughout the game he was miles behind Franco (who apart from the goal had his worst game for a while). Man of the match for me was undoubtedly Maloney. Most of our better play came through him and as many have posted the new lad Ramis looked solid. As usual Boyce and the two Jimmy Macs put In a decent shift.
This year there are some teams in the league who look quality like Everton and Swansea and thought its early I think the games between those at the bottom of the table will be vital. Norwich, Reading, QPR and West Ham look average but after that i dont see many weak teams. It may be yesterday we played the worst team in the league so I’ll reserve comment on a possible top 10 finish as other teams look strong. At the end of September we will have a good idea of our potential. In Bobby we trust!
And Liverpool!
Not sure which odds your looking at. Bobby is 7-2 and Rodgers now as low as 1-6.
What’s all this Bruce spent a fortune? Just on his signings of Valencia, Palacios and Charlie and Cattermole we pulled in a profit of 32 million didnt we? Fair enough his 3.5 on Kapo wasnt his finest signing but then Boselli and Scotland aint pulled up many trees.
I aint saying he should be our number one target but lets have it right. He pulled a team from bottom of the table to the top half of the table when we left. His record speaks as stronger on paper than any other Manager we have had in the Premier league.
BIGROY, if we hadnt of had the points on the board by xmas i have no doubt in my mind he would have taken us down,he saddled us with massive wages, which the 32 mil profit you speak about possiable went towards some of this.1st time he was here he ripped the heart out of our club then did one to palace where jordan who at the time was worth a dam sight more than whelan,2nd time here DW bailed him out with 3mil comp to the brum to put his selve back in the shop window then what happens he does one again to the mackems where theres money everywhere he looks. With bruce(spits on floor)it was about useing us as a stepping stone. You say the team was sold from under him or you mean something along them lines BUT he had fortune at sunderland and bought SHIT just ask the 40,000 mackems what they think[/quote]
I am not defending his record at Sunderland or condoning his comments to the press. To suggest we arent a stepping stone to others (ie RM) is laughable. And funnily enough the points on the board were acquired before Whelan cashed in on Palacios et al in the january transfer window.
whelan wont entertainhim again at the club dont even worry about it lads. -
