”a disgraceful and childish show of disrespect to one of our longest serving players”
I lost count of the number of times I saw Scharner cock something up or give away possession & just stand there whilst waiting for someone else (further away) to try & win back possession.
That lack of effort & commitment is what I find to be disrespectful & disagraceful. How else do you expect people to show their displeasure with his performance other than what they did
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been saying for yonks he’s a waste of space.
Perhaps my annoyance at the crowd’s reaction was because it was the only time the majority of them had managed to rouse themselves into any type of enthusiasm all night.
Couldn’t agree more Griff, If you can’t support the lads – keep your gobs shut ! The Portsmouth few put us to shame last night, great support – take note !
Charlie’s done a job but Victor will fill his shoes, Hugo may as well go, if he’s being played on the wing, let’s buy a winger !
I find myself agreeing with what you say about Scharner, then I think he’s brought it all on himself from day 1, “I may play for Arsenal one day” in an after match interview very soon after we signed him, he’s never realised his mistake since, infact he’s disrespected this club at every given opportunity, I have always wanted him to stay in the past but I’ve had a change of heart, f*ck you Scharner, give Arsenal a ring, when they’ve finished laughing ring Fulham, when they finish thanking you for last week then start laughing about giving you a contract, ring Max Clifford, he’ll give you a realistic take on your over inflated ego.
One of the best performances i’ve seen, without us scoring, they did everything right except score.
Cloudy Lane
Black Apalachi
both e/wThe FA are ridiculous, a complete joke.
Just more nonsense this, if anybody wants to rant about the animosity from the past, turn up at games and shout “lyndsey out”, good start for the rugby this season and good luck to you, we’ve got our own and bigger fish (to us) to fry.
Kirkland wasn’t at fault, he was to blame for a couple of world class saves though.
As someone who has not seen any of the Fulham game from Sunday, can I ask what formation Bobby played in thisI saw the line up when I checked my phone & saw that it had Moreno, Scotland, Rodallega & N’Zogbia & assumed that he’d gone 4-4-2 but having read this thread I’m guessing not & am now puzzled as to how he tried to make that work as a 4-5-1
Rod and Zog on the wings, Scotland behind Moreno.
Wigan Athletic don’t lease the stadium, they own it, the lease would be terminated pronto by the rugby team’s landlords, Latics.
It’s only one (two) game/s though, 6-3 on agg, Chelsea beat Villa 7-1 the other day and we can beat Chelsea, I think over recent years the Premier League has the best record of reaching finals or semi’s, I wouldn’t write the Prem off just yet.
i dont and never have been a gambler so i would never waste money on betting if someone will be sacked or not, and by asking “what he brings to the table” i would like to know of anything that martinez has done for wigan athletic this season that is of any benefit, despite the replies not one person has answered the original question,by all means ridicule or insult me for daring to ask the question, but when you have finished please tell mee what martinez has done this season to deserve any support of wigan athletic fans ?if he would not have played for us with distinction some years ago he would have been at the job center months ago and that is what i dont understand.
He’s managed to beat the team most likely to win the league this season
and despite so many new faces in the team, he has kept us out of the drop zone.
In fact he’s beaten 2 out of the usual top 4, he’s tried to bring in his brand of passing football, he’s kept composed and dignified when some ridiculous decisions have gone against us, which have undoubtedly cost us points.i would be interested to read any answers to this thread, that dont just go off tangent.
A thread with this title does not deserve a sensible answer and clearly is not attempting to promote a serious debate.
Also, what does “bring to the table” mean?(cue spanish cuisine related comments)
If Martinez brought tapas to the table, you can already hear loudmouth “what’s wrong with a bit of English grub, this is rubbish Roberto”.
Will be required for that coveted 17th spot ?Could be as few as 34, according to my current forecast.
You could be about right I think, 36 will definately be enough, 1 win and 2 draws.
6 April 2010 at 3:43 pm in reply to: Yet again, more “all the remaining games are cup finals….” #28790Would you have said anything if Scotland had said “we’ll probably not win another game, it’s in the lap of the gods” or “we’ll win at least 3 of our remaining fixtures”, of course you would, nobody can say anything right for you at the moment, he said it like it is, the players know what they’ve got to do, we as fans should be doing our bit too.
