God that was refreshing after seeing some of the tripe that’s been dished up since dropping out the Prem.
For me, the energy, desire and superb fitness levels stood out plus straight forward simple passing football was a joy to watch.
I hope we can keep hold of all the key players the likes of D.Burn and Powell because we will find it impossible to replace them.
I did hear from someone within the players that Cook has the full backing and support of the vast majority of his players so Power and Bogle must have crossed the line.
The one thing that makes me happy about today’s performance is, actually seeing players giving 100% in a Latics shirt and actually looking like they care if we lose or not, makes me proud again, if they show they care fans will follow suit and back them to the hilt, onwards and hopefully upwards I say, well done to the TicsI fully expect a side brimming with fringe players!Have we got any ?
Burn won’t be here come September
Fans of players former club say he is crap when he leaves shockerHappy Clapper brigade strike again
A Pompey fans view of Noel Hunt:-
Noel Hunt will be a positive influence off the pitch. His experience will be valuable to some of the younger players and he was popular amongst Pompey fans last season for his attitude and willingness to talk to fans. I suspect he has signed with a view to be having some coaching role when he retires in the next year or two. However, in terms of on the pitch contribution he only scored once for us (a tap in against the nine men of Mansfield) and barely saw any playing time in League Two, so he is likely to have even less of an impact on a team pushing for promotion in League One, although his willingness to run around despite his age does give him some nuisance value up front.
If he has signed to be a replacement for Omar Bogle, Wigan fans are going to be very disappointed. Hunt was a player all Pompey fans expected to leave this summer regardless of who the manager was.
Very positive, think not, (waits for happy clappy crew to reply with overwhelming joy and happiness)
These 3 loan signings, are very good additions.I still think we maybe need another keeper, Scott Flinders in available free, I’d maybe have a look at him, just for a back up experienced keeper.
I’m looking forward to the season starting.
So what do you base these players been “very good additions” on ?.
I’ll make judgement based on,
If they actually get played,
Their contribution to the game,
We’re we are in the league heading up to the Christmas period.
I’ll praise them If they do well but I won’t be a happy clapper like some die hard-ons if we look like the team of last yearIvan’s reaction when he was told he was heading to Wigan for a full 12 months;-
Wigan Official Statement: Confirms signing of Newcastle’s Ivan Toney
I’ve had a,season ticket since 1982 but this year is the first time I’ve been 50/50 whether me and my lads renewed them.
The more and more the board get it so wrong on every level the more I can’t be arsed. Last season was as bad as it gets so I thought “Well, it can’t get any worse” and so far it seems more and more likely that all the contracted players are to leave or set to leave only to be replaced with cheaper easy to get rid of loan players. I’m beginning to wonder if I’ve made the right choice by renewing.
One more season like last and that’s it for me, I’ll do as the majority I’ve spoken to have done, don’t renew and pick your games.
And no doubt if we win the league, you’ll be one of the first to renew next year.
Yep and the best bit, you can do fook all about it, I might even sit behind you Fook me, you’re easyI’ve had a,season ticket since 1982 but this year is the first time I’ve been 50/50 whether me and my lads renewed them.

Good riddance then if you do chuck the towel in, the club does not need supporters like you. I guess your user name says it all really.
They def need fookin empty heads like you :) happy clapper, that’s if you can make both hands meet

Signed players all been sold only to be replaced with loan players ?. This is like cards in builders been dumped for short contract zero hours self employee’s, cheaper and easier to get rid of.
I think someone at the club has a sexual fantasy about midfielders, we need at least 10 or they can’t get it up.
I’m bored with Latics, we have totally lost the knack of bringing in decent young players to bring on and sell at a healthy profit.
Lee Evans has only just signed a contract with Wolves were is the affiliation with Wigan ?.
I won’t be far off estimate of 12-15 player turnaround and 8-10 will be midfielders.
As my old school teacher P.E teacher use to say ,”Just pack the middle, you’ll never lose”I thought he played at the london palladium ?,
sweaty fooker
Here we go again:-
New manager in
12-15 out
12-15 in
4-5 New signings who will never play
4-5 loaned out never to be seen again
4-5 loaned in who all basically are kids who don’t give a flying turd
Squad struggle
Players don’t give a toss
We end up in a relegation battle
Managers sacked
We go downNew manager in
12-15 out
Etc……
Etc……Groundhog Day Athletic
As for Bogle doesn’t suit style of play ?,
Good managers with limited or no budget make square pegs fit round holes. I think were all in for a rough ride while rebuilding once again takes place and to be honest, I’m sick to the back teeth with fans left in the dark.Well, ‘Cup winners’ lets look at the evidence so far……..
New manager in……….. Correct, fantastic observational skills used there.
12-15 out……………….. Wrong up to now.
12-15 in…………………. Wrong up to now.
4-5 New signings who will never play…… 3-4 as yet, but not known as yet whether they will play.
4-5 loaned out never to be seen again……None as yet
4-5 loaned in who all basically are kids who don’t give a flying turd….None as yet
Squad struggle….Impossossible to say as yet
Players don’t give a toss….Wrong, even Power who may be going has said he will still give 100% until the day he goes.
We end up in a relegation battle….Doubtful, but impossible to say yet.
Managers sacked…Doubtfull, but impossible to say yet.
We go down…..Very unlikely but again impossible to say at this stage. We will have to wait and see.
A change of Manager, League and the inevitable change in financial clout will always bring changes, hopefully there will not be too many more and we have to give Paul Cook the backing he needs.New players will be brought in, but with his experience he will hopefully have a bit more idea of the type of players needed than the last few clowns we have had.
It has always been a rollercoaster watching WAFC, and rollercoasters are fun, strap yourself in lads, the fun starts again next saturday.
COME ON WIGAN[/sup”>
Wrong doubtful impossible sounds about right.
Bogle remarks regarding not been included in the squad for the Grimsby game doesn’t sound like that if a player requesting to leave.
There’s 4 weeks left till the window closes and we haven’t even played a game. When bigger clubs suss out who they won’t be needing is when the DW floodgates will open.
Cook wants his team and if that means, every fookin player leaving then so be it.
Burn, Powell, Grigg will be next to be poached once clubs clear out and make way.The managers job is in the title “manager”, if every manager were to get rid of certain players because they want a move or their not bestest m8’s you’d never have enough players to start a game. Ffs he only came a few months back so if unrest is in the camp then those (Power Bogle) need the be “managed”.
What kind of business would you have it you got rid of everyone you don’t like ?There’s too much of this going on and we to at least keep these players till at Christmas. Getting rid for personal reasons is not the answer.
I honestly don’t give a flying sloppy turd who’s coming who’s leaving.
When you sign a player for over a million pound and the manager says “Nope, not for me” after a couple of pish arse friendlies were no one truly gives a fook then alarm bells start ringing.
Div1 would be a belting starter point for Bogle to grow into his position up front. At least give Bogle till Christmas but not after some shit friendlies.
As for Prem defender ?, I’ll have a tenner on he’s 32 or over and has been plagued with injuries but he can talk the talk great in the changing room, another fookin Bruce, nothing more, than a dead legged wage snatcher -
