The sale of WAFC is now the biggest worry and this needs to happen quickly but by who?
Buying an expensive business where the only income can be selling your assets for the foreseeable future will require both someone totally dedicated and totally loaded.
Pay day will be around soon. They must be confident to risk 500k
I can’t help but think that maybe there is a local benefactor could well contribute. Someone who doesn’t want now to be actively engaged in running the club long term, but who initially pledged he would help in whatever way he could. If only there were someone like this already pulling strings behind the scenes :)
They would be confident if our Name was Sheffield Wednesday. They would have a reduced points deduction in our situation.
Us in their situation? Well we would have lost 21 points weeks ago.He could get it back for peanuts and sell many assetts and players to streamline the club.
It is worrying the shit these crooks have left us in with no income for the foreseeable future.
Just staying on until now they would have had players to sell for acceptable fees etc to finance the club.
There is something much much more that as gone on than simply giving up on an idea three weeks in. What? who knows? But there is a strong smell of something really dodgy that went on.So the independent panel are as inept as the EFL.
Will the same idiots make the decision on our fate too?Brentford and WBA didn’t help us there on that score but us conceding a late goal and Luton scoring a late goal helped us even less.
Those two awful performances against Luton too could see us relegated and the Hatters safe but safe only because those idiots pulled the plug with three weeks to go and the ridiculous punishment for going into administration that didn’t give us an advantage. Surely we can win an appeal and the sides who just weren’t good enough over 46 games go down.Cheers Mutty. Was watching news last night and we have NE news in Alston.
Donald is certainly digging his heels in for the money he wants to sell Sunderland for. Now it isn’t so long ago he came in and was regarded as a bit of an hero. Its hero to zero in no time. So it looks like another who went in for the glory and prestige but without much substance and
reliability on the huge season ticket sales and parachute payments. Seems like there’s more shit housing going on with owners than on the pitch. Hoping with the expected fall in season ticket sales your fans don’t end up in the shite like us.So 21 PTS. But wait, they are a big traditional club so it looks like 9 PTS at the most.
We will win them both.
Then wait and win the points appeal.
Koukash will take control.
We will keep the spine of the side.
Keep our best youngsters.
then push for promotion next season.Well put Roy and thas why its so strange theyve done this. Whoever is behind this scam could have sold everything off bit by biht. Players, training ground, club, stadium and academy which would raise so much more than a percentage as a creditor they would get from the administrators.
Warriors are not making any offers. They can’t afford any offers.
Football unfortunately is not a parochial sport/business anymore and requires lots and lots of money, again unfortunately.
Sky and the Premier Greed have totally ruined our sport.
Even Uncle Dave pulled out because of the crazy amounts of money it takes to run a club.
No matter how much a romantic notion of a locally owned club sounds it will take a lot more than Mr Pollard’s wallet to run.A fan of St Helens Rugby League Club apparently. Should fit in well at Latics.
Points deduction apart it just makes the piss poor period from August to January so much more annoying. Even those two dire performances at home to Middlesbrough and Luton could well have seen us safe.
It is so unfair that our players can now go for peanuts their worth hasn’t dropped why should their price. Surely if a club is in our predicament then the asking price must be met it’s just stupid. We are gonna lose millions on Robinson alone.
It bloody stinks. They will also go to clubs dripping in Sky’s money. That is loose change to Brighton who you would think had some sense of fairness after their fairly recent history.
Greedy horrible Premier greed gets. Remember the greed league and the pushing up of all costs in football is one of the main instigators of much of the financial problems in football.Blackpool fan here. A few personal observations :
1. I think you should get yourself organised to fight. The EFL are already enmeshed in possible litigation cases with several clubs, and have other disputes pending with several more. I doubt that they really have the capacity or will to fight hard on the case load they already have. Set yourselves up to be difficult.
2. Thank God Harvey has gone and been replaced by Parry. You might get more common sense, more empathy, and a hell of a lot less hubris. However, some of Harvey’s apparatchiks remain in the organisation and you will encounter their organisational and cultural inertia before too long.
3. Do your homework and your own due diligence, if you can. Our experience is that they are an organisation who don’t seem to fully understand their own rules. Nor do they apply them consistently, when they can be persuaded to apply them at all. They don’t respond well to challenge, but they often appear embarrassed by it.
4. I think time is currently on your side. They will want a quick resolution so that they can get on with preparing for next season with some certainty about which teams are playing where. It may make them more amenable to a compromise solution in the short term than they will be later on. So I would want to get one now, if I were you.
5. Use your MP well. She is articulate, photogenic, appears to want to be involved and she has some clout. We would have loved to have MPs like that. In fact, Parliament as a whole (Damian Collins in particular) are increasingly waking up to how rotten an edifice English football is. Milk that for all you are worth.
All personal views and I seek to speak for no-one else. Good luck. Many thanks for that. Can you share with us how The Seasiders escaped the 12 point deduction when they were liquidated last season?
Fantastic but 10 yellows and 2 game ban for Sam the only downer.
Jamal hasn’t played well in six games all season. Hopefully the tide has turned.
