Read it didn’t understand a feckin word. Gobbledegook to me .
What does gobbledegook mean?
language that is meaningless or is made unintelligible by excessive use of technical terms.
Should or could be Googledegook as like my explanation it came from Google.Well Joffy has signed a new deal this morning.
I agree cupwinners on the 3-5 years project and i’ve said for a while it’s what we have to do
Whilst I am delighted we have got him to sign a new contract, the picture of him with Darren Royle and Jonathan Jackson has made me think.
In the picture, Royle is wearing a Poppy pin badge. Now, if Darren Royle is the astute businessman he seems to be, would he wear that badge after the 11th November, which was last Monday? Did he actually sign it last week? Seems strange to do that and wait until this spare International break weekend to announce it.And where is Cook? Is something happening, are they going to announce Cook has gone, and are using Joffy signing the new deal to appease anybody who may be disgruntled?
Perhaps I am just being a conspiracy theorist here. Or maybe something is going on behind the scenes?
Maybe Cook and a few are getting a well earned break in Marbella and getting a bit of sun on their backs.lSelling academy products for massive fees we can invest elsewhere sounds like good business to me. Bit like signing Valencia and Palacios for frig all and selling them for millions. All well and good talking about huge investment but when your income is about £4.50 it kind of breaches FFP rules.
Are there any rules anymore?
Wolves broke all sorts of fp rules on gaining promotion.
Bolton Wanderers broke many rules and still havnt been punished and were actively supported and had their hands held by the EFL while they walked them through their so called crisis.Im with Nuneaton on all his wise words there. Bring back fun and enjoyment. We could enjoy losing at one time when we looked like we were having a go at sides but this last 14/15 months with a terrible win ratio as also been probably the drabbest period of football I can remember. Certainly akin to the Joyce era if not worse.
We have spent 7 seasons at this level and have been relegated twice. It’s not like we are an established Championship club or even a top tier club like if someone like Forest or Leeds were in this position. I think that is his point. He has barely taken us backwards has he?
As I said on the other thread there are plenty of our fans who seem to think we should be beating certain teams and should be well above where we are. Mentioning managers and players names that we have next to no chance of ever employing.
If I was managing a club that was punching above its weight and some Football Manager playing “expert” was having a go at me I would probably react as well.
You miss the point, Cooks current player choice and p1ss poor zip lob to the big lad are a couple o reasons why we are were we are.
If he grew some testicles he would have fookin gone for 3 pts at a struggling Derby side when it was for the taking but oh no that’s the fault of the fans who expect too much.
Cook do the right thing and leave. We need an ambitious manager who have the nuts to play to win and isn’t overwhelmed in the Championship which you clearly are.
You made a comment a few weeks back that you had no idea as to why the results weren’t coming. Well if you don’t know then that fans just waiting for the turd to come its way.
Cook didnt mention the first three seasons we had in this league. They were three very successful seasons and the third albeit with a stronger squad was a season where we had to completely rebuild after Bob walked out. We reached a cup semi and played the additional games in Europe too. The football in all three of those seasons was generally more positive and attractive too. WOr realistic and where we probably are as a club?
Problem is we have been spoilt as fans of Wigan Athletic for years which has raised expectations to the point that people believe we should be challenging in the top half of the championship. Our club is run well and we exist within our means. Others dont..
This is not about expectations as a whole and been spoilt, thats just are history and we did it on the smallest budget in the Prem.
This debate is about our current manager and players. I feel that with the correct guy in charge who decides not to keep fookin launching it to the big guy we should have no problem at finishing mid table. We could do with a guy who never says I’ve not a clue, a guy who doesnt blame the fans for expecting too much someone who has the balls to win a game when its there on a plateau. A guy who’s not scared of dropping his favorite players when their playing sh1t.
We won the FA Cup on a dream a far bigger dream than staying in the Championship. If you feel staying in the Championship is asking too much especially after watching us against some of the big clubs in this league then you should pack in going.
Saturdays performance all be it against a good side was still spineless. We can’t change the squad till Jan but we can change the manager.
I don’t see many defending him now because there’s nothing to defend
And the manager responsible for winning the FA Cup was also criticised for his style of play.
Thing is on that cup run and on the occasions we played well he dropped his preferred style of play and played more direct attacking football like in the run up to the end of 2011/12 when we were magnificent.
At least Bob could change. Granted he was stubborn but not as stubborn as Cooky. Cook has the making of a good side if he played to the players strengths, starting with Moore and getting someone to play closer to him and use one of the attacking mids to get down the wing and get some crosses in to him. Cooky still has time to keep the support on his side but that will only happen with some sort of change in the way we play the game.Living in Chorley unfortunately because Hoyle has got himself a cushy £140,000 plus expenses a year job, we don’t get a vote. Bonus is Hoyle doesn’t get to vote either.
Sixteen points behind them now Ally.
Today was the worst in a long time, on a par with the dross served up under Mackay and Joyce. That’s how bad it was today for anyone lucky enough not to be there!
Yes it is time for a change of manager, but who’s next? Remembering the two above, be very careful what you wish for!
Well during the seventies and eighties there was a works side in Eccleston named Carrindew Athletic. They weren’t that great really and played in the Chorley Alliance League. They had one or two managers who did their best. Now maybe one of those could come out of retirement because surely they couldn’t have a less win ratio from the last 56 games (12 wins) than Cooky has.
I think you will find Dereck that with 12 wins out of the last 56 matches Latics have played in is totally acceptable for Royle and he must definitely feel with this sort of form we are moving forwards.
Don’t criticise Cook for bulling up the opposition. That’s the only thing he does gets right.
Can’t imagine we will be listening to his crap much longer anyway.
All down to Royle growing a pair.Forgot to answer but with this amazing form we are in at the moment (according to some) the gate should be swollen to over 11k but realistically will go for a respectable 9,642 to witness some more amazingly poor substitutions, hardly any shots on target, missed chances and a Sam booking in a nil nil draw.
Love.
I know and we lose our democratic right to a vote in the upcoming circus but what’s a vote worth when the last time we had a big vote the politicians totally disregarded the result.
Most of us here have the same train of thought…..Moore is obviously Cooks target man so it’s hard to figure why he doesn’t have Windass,Geldhardt spinning of him. The really worrying issue for me is that after Moores 15 games he played then if Cook hasn’t played him that way then he isn’t going to. No way he’s going to suddenly have a eureka moment and drop Geldhardt on his shoulder. I think he’s sticking with this useless system through either stubbornness or simply sticking to his tactical beliefs. Either way it’s now sink or swim for him as I dont believe the bull about him still being here even if we drop………the owners may well have a long term plan but league 1 certainly wouldn’t have been included in that.God knows what it is but it’s hasn’t brought much in the last fifty odd games. Our home form kept us up and without the form at home this season we would be well adrift. Thankfully we stayed up and the home results are keeping us out of the bottom three this time. Frustratingly we can see there are no great shakes in this league, evidenced with Nob Ends position who I wouldn’t think have any better a squad than Cooky has at his disposal. Maybe it is how the squad is used.
Playing Moore the way he does could work and it may be down to the three behind him to push up more. If not they need changing. At the moment it doesn’t look anything like Cooks tactics that he used with Powell and Grigg. Something changed thirteen months ago. -
